No...but when listening to him talk and speak with intellect and understanding how everything works sounds 1000x better then any other person in the government. Ron Paul can fix America. You just have to believe and vote for him!
@DawnOfTheDead991 When the Tea Party talks about less government I guess that excludes military spending the Government spying on us (Partiot Act), and Corporate hand outs.
Democratic "representatives" are a sad joke. Almost all politicians are nowadays
Each party hides behind a guise of patriotic democracy and capitalism, when they're really encouraging an aristocratic corporatism
Allowing money to influence policy AT ALL, such as lobbying is gigantic Achilles heel for democracy. It's not about the masses anymore, it's about who has more money, which over the last 50 years CLEARLY has not been the American people
We can't just say get Obama out of office but the person we choose has to be one that could win and we as voters actually have to go and vote for them. The second part is something that wil be hard to do. The youth of america are mainly either lazy; or nieve to believe that what happens in politics won't affect them.
You're making it sound like Obama is dumb and\or weak leader. I think that's reading his actions wrong. - I think his politics are different from what you think, so it makes it look like he's giving in, but he's doing what he actually wants and makes it look like he doesn't have a choice to keep the left sort of on his side. He might be a horrible politician, but I don't think he's weak strategicly or dumb, just has wrong goals.
If Obama gets any worse as President, FDR is going to rise from the grave to seek another term as President, and I'll vote for him. Seriously it's been proven in America during the Depression, then again under Nixon, then in Russia, then in Africa then in Japan in the 90s that if you cut domestic spending in a recession that you make things much, much worse for the middle class. FDR understood that in the 30s why don't we understand that in 20-fucking-11?

@rjbonacolta Under the big government policies of Hoover and FDR the Great Depression lasted much longer than was necessary. Go read up on the Depression of 1920-21. It started off worse than the Great Depression and Coolidge slashed government spending. It was over in about a year.
Are you really that dense? The two depressions are not even comparable. Consider the returning labor force of hundreds of thousands of American soldiers following the war, the increase in FED lending rate at that time, etc.
You just go around stating simple facts without analyzing the actual data for accurate comparisons. Sounds a lot like what Glenn Beck does. When in reality if you properly look at things, you are really a moron looking making child-like analogies
Why do liberals don't want to cut spending?? OUR PROBLEM IS NOT A REVENUE ISSUE... IT'S A SPENDING ISSUE!!!! WE TAX THE FUCK OUT OF EVERYONE.. EVEN CITIZENS WHO HAVE DOUBLE CITIZENSHIP AND HAVE NEVER LIVED IN THE U.S. GET TAXED!! WE HAVE THE 2ND HIGHEST CORPORATE TAX. WHAT ELSE DO YOU FUCKING WANT???? CUT SPENDING!! BOTH MILITARY AND WELFARE SPENDING!!
@maradona2 BTW, The caps lock button is on the left side of the keyboard. I don't think you'd find many liberals against cutting Pentagon spending. Our income taxes, are the lowest they've been, in about 30 years or so. I personally, would love to reform the welfare system. However my plan would probably increase spending at first. -Continued-
@seeqer66 Increase spending??????? It seems the stimulus package wasn't enough for ya, eh? Ok before you reply my comment.... I would suggest taking Economics 101.
@maradona2 I would suggest you find out what you're talking about before you make inane comments like that. Unlike most conservatives who limit their commentary to, cut taxes & cut spending, I actually have an idea that would end up reducing the people who rely on welfare to survive and would eventually cut spending. I know enough about economics to understand that this deficit spending can't continue. We need to cut spending AND raise taxes.
@maradona2 If you want to live and work in another country, while you keep your duel citizenship, that's your business. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask you to pay for that privilege though. I can't just up and move to another country, with the full benefits of citizenship, whenever I feel like it. I think I would love the opportunity to pay for that privilege.
We should slash military spending by 60% immediately and raise taxes on the rich & corporations to pay for the two wars we've been fighting for the last ten years it's what Eisenhower did to pay off World War 2 but because the rich and corporations are only patriotic when it suits them and not when it comes to actually contributing their fair share their lobbyists will make sure that won't happen.
@JBBlitz Turn away from the TV screen, and look outside. I know Fox has been telling you, he's far left. Look at his actual policies, and who's been writing them.
If I were Obama, I would have used the mess Bush left us to reduce the republican seats to 1 per chamber. I would have constantly reminded the public of their malfeasence. I would have used naked populism. If they didn't do what I asked, I would have encourage people to call 24/7, blow up their email boxes, and make in-person visits to see their congressmen. Same goes for traitor dems like Losermann.
That's exactly how the Liberal Party in Canada destroyed the Conservative party in the 1993 elections: they beat them over the head with all their scandals financial malfeasance and Mulroney's incompetence as a leader.
@Hammerfall794 I'll bet their scandals and malfeasance wasn't half of what Bush's were or shitbags like John "pass out cigarette Lobby checks on the house floor" Boehner. Basically if I were in his shoes, I'd make the nice speeches about being everyone's president, but when I'm done, being republican would be about as popular as being the village child molester. In reality, that's how it should be, the way they fucked everyone over.
The Oka standoff where he sent in the army against Mohawk Indian protesters (which made the situation much worse) who were upset over a development plan that had been rammed through by town council without consulting them (it was a golf course that was to be built on their ceremonial land).
And last but not least the Airbus Affair in which he took payoffs from Karl-Heinz Schreiber in order to ensure that Air Canada bought new Airbus planes (this only came out after he left office).
All of these scandals and failures on Mulroney's part decimated the Conservative party in the 1993 election (they even lost their federal status as a party in the house of commons) and handed the Liberals a massive landslide victory (one of the largest in Canadian history) along with a majority that would last for almost ten years.
@Hammerfall794 Oh please don't think I was trying to get in a pissing contest. I love Canada. The reason why I love Canada is for what you're describing. You face your fuckups, and hold people accountable. Obama is too big of a coward to do that. As I said, I would have relished the opportunity to make republican as popular as the local baby raper.
What the US needs is for Obama to be a Trudeau style liberal who looks at his enemies and the opposition and says "screw them, I'm doing it my way and there's nothing they can do about it" and when the opposition media (fox news) questions him about what he's doing he shouldn't be nice and polite he should say simply "oh really? just watch me".
Obama is just a puppet, no one is that dumb or big of a pussy. That prick Walker won't compromise when the polls are 60% against him, and Obama compromises when the polls are 70% in his favor.
All this squabbling over stolen money. Its so sad. Think of all the lives destroyed by these thieving scoundrels in Government and those who support them.
@darealdjnutz This is what happens when we believe that violence can solve our problems. We create brutal and thieving institutions like Governments to do our stealing for us but invariably, the gun of the Government that we use to extort the affluent gets wrestled out of our hands and gets pressed back against our temples.
the poker analogy is the best...you just don't fold with aces...or kings or queens...if you lose, you take the loss...but the majority of the time, you'll win...it's just simple statistics.
I never thought I'd say this but I agree with Cenk 100% on what he said in this video. I've been saying it for years. Both parties are bought and paid for and they don't represent the average American. They represent big business and large corporations. If you really want to see positive changes in America then we should make it illegal for ANY politician to take lobby money. Then they would have no choice. Our voices aren't being heard for a reason.
Cenk you said it." They do not represent us." "We have lost control of the system."
Then why in the world do you support positions that give them more control? The people want this? Oh, lets turn to the government. GIVE US THIS! THE PEOPLE WANT IT! Then have the people get it! Do not let the government, a corrupt system, manage everything.
@Vortex1988 " Anyone else up for a new American Revolution? " There was a Revolution on 2 Nov. 2010 maybe you missed it. The next one will be in Nov 2012
@chaumont20 Oh sure. That's laughable. If you don't have the brain power to figure out that democrats and republicans are one in the same then there's no hope for you.
@Vortex1988 The difference between Democrats and Republicans is the difference between Liberals - Progressives and Conservatives. You do agree that there is a difference there don't you ?
@chaumont20 There's a difference between Liberals and conservatives because they are different ideologies. You don't have to be liberal to be a democrat and you don't have to be conservative to be a republican. Democrats and Republicans are exactly the same. They get paid by the same people, which is why nothing ever changes.
I'm a liberal, but the democrats don't represent me. They might talk a lot of talk about how they do, but none of it is true. Look at action, not rhetoric.
@Vortex1988 " I'm a liberal, but the democrats don't represent me " Who does represent you ? BTW, there isn't a Republican or Conservative alive who would have wrote a 2,500 page Health Care Bill or a 2000 page Financial Regulatory Bill or a 2100 page Stimulus bill.
@chaumont20 That's all political theater. The health care bill is unconstitutional and will get repealed eventually (not to mention that even if it isn't it still doesn't do what it should), the corporations are laughing at the financial regulatory bill, and what exactly has the stimulus accomplished?
How can you have so much faith in politicians. They don't listen to anyone, liberal or conservative. They only serve the people who fund their campaigns.
@Vortex1988 I have faith in the Constitution and vote for the person who will defend and follow it's principals. The Question still remains. Who does represent you ?
@chaumont20 Just because someone claims to defend the constitution doesn't mean they will. Who knows though, maybe you're a fan of Ron Paul. I have nothing against him because he's one of the few in Congress who is actually genuine and isn't trying to feed the public bull shit.
As far as who represents me...I guess TYT, Alan Grayson (no longer in office), maybe Anthony Weiner, and US Uncut....as well as anyone else who is sick of politicians who corrupt America for personal gain.
@Vortex1988 TYT, Alan Grayson, Anthony Weiner and US Uncut (?) are all Liberal - Progressives who all vote Democrat. Right now I like Gov. Chris Christy and Gov. Mitch Daniels. BTW, is there a way to make computer hardware without using oil ?
@chaumont20 Grayson and Weiner are the only ones that I actually might be able to trust though. The rest of the democratic party is corporatist.
As for the whole computer thing, I really don't know. My main concern is gas prices. Everyone uses cars, so everyone must fill it up with gas. We need some sort of new fuel that is manufactured in the US. We shouldn't have to be dependent on countries in the middle east for such a valuable commodity.
It is a remarkably sporting gesture on the part of Mr Obama not to take advantage of this situation, except of couse for the fact that THIS IS NOT A GAME OF FUCKING CRICKET!
Obama does'nt deserve to be re-elected.The man is a corporate sell-out and a coward who always caves in to the status quo.Luckily true Democrats may have the time to look for a progressive candidate too take on the weak president Obama...
I thought the Cabinet advisors are supposed to move Obama to make wise decisions, with something like that in place seeing him flop over and over is astounding. Is it really possible that his Cabinet is just as messed up?
i've been saying that shit since the so called 'champions for the common man' all caved to the health insurance interests, bankers, and fear/warmongers without a single fight!!!
it's obvious president kissass 1st term is same as bush's 3rd term!!!
seriously? we spend over a trillion dollars more than what we take in every year... and you guys are bitching if we only cut things by 50 billions? things need to be cutt by over a trillion ....
Good we can start with the $250B of cost overruns on weapons systems. No toys for boys no cost overruns. The two wars cost about another $200B/yr. Next up tax fraud by the big boys on Wall street and their clients. Estimated captured revenue? $100B/yr on INTEREST ALONE on hidden overseas bank accounts. GAO and CBO estimate another $250/B in tax cheating is taking place. Add the $40B on subsidies to oil & gas companies. There's nearly $1T in savings in 5 minutes.
"I think the puppet on my left represents my viewpoint. I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs! Oh wait...there's one guy holding up both puppets!"
I think it's b.s. obama and the democrat's are not fearful push over's nor are they stupid, they are bought and paid for, stating otherwise is misleading and counter productive i love cenk but you can't fix a problem if not properly diagnosed THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE
This is what is so perverse about the USA. A right-wing corporate tool like Boehner will spar with fascists and then call himself a reasonable moderate who is attacked from both sides for being a diplomatic politician.
@mistacramer I think the US government is still recovering from its own post traumatic stress disorder after the cold war. If soldiers can get it I'm sure an entire government can. That's a good way to explain their irrational evasion towards anything socialist-like.
i hate it when cenk gets into a mindset of "it's a competition with the right". only way the world will work well is if politicians actually try and help the people and stop looking at the whole thing as a competition.
How do we see this happening around us and not come to the conclusion that we all need to gather together on a certain day and stay home....that is the only way our collective voices will be taken with the seriousness that they need to be...we run the machine that is sucking us dry...maybe its time to put down our tools and watch these guys sweat it out for a change?
@pwner34 Ads ads and more ads entertainment programs, thats why America is too busy being entertained all new shows, if u follow politics u get the left served news on MSNBC you get the right served news on FOX
and then you can just stay at home and be a cheerleader, to know the game is rigged you have to get up from your chair and do your own research, everyone got a computer now a days
$61 billion in cuts - what a joke. Boehner has said over and over how we need cut the budget - and then he comes out with this joke. Rand Paul was right - we need to cut at least $500 billion, but even then we're on the express train to bankruptcy.
we can't vote for obama again but we need another viable realistic and popular option if not we might lose to a republican, this election if there is no realistic option to obama or a republican i'm not voting again not for the lesser evil not again i'm done with this charade....a vote of no confidence
So Obama is SOFT. Will they change how you vote? No it probably won't. This is why the green party and others get 2% of the vote. The liberals/progressives who were disappointed with Obama will vote for him again.
Fuck the tea baggers those inbred cunt can't even count but they think they know what's best for the government

It's not about the masses anymore, it's about who has more money, which over the last 50 years CLEARLY has not been the American people
And yet it's only getting worse...

We can't just say get Obama out of office but the person we choose has to be one that could win and we as voters actually have to go and vote for them. The second part is something that wil be hard to do. The youth of america are mainly either lazy; or nieve to believe that what happens in politics won't affect them.
nugen966 11 months ago

@PissedFechtmeister

BOTH MILITARY AND WELFARE SPENDING!!
maradona2 11 months ago
@maradona2 BTW, The caps lock button is on the left side of the keyboard. I don't think you'd find many liberals against cutting Pentagon spending. Our income taxes, are the lowest they've been, in about 30 years or so. I personally, would love to reform the welfare system. However my plan would probably increase spending at first. -Continued-
seeqer66 11 months ago
@seeqer66 Increase spending??????? It seems the stimulus package wasn't enough for ya, eh? Ok before you reply my comment.... I would suggest taking Economics 101.
maradona2 11 months ago
@maradona2 I would suggest you find out what you're talking about before you make inane comments like that. Unlike most conservatives who limit their commentary to, cut taxes & cut spending, I actually have an idea that would end up reducing the people who rely on welfare to survive and would eventually cut spending. I know enough about economics to understand that this deficit spending can't continue. We need to cut spending AND raise taxes.
seeqer66 11 months ago
@maradona2 If you want to live and work in another country, while you keep your duel citizenship, that's your business. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask you to pay for that privilege though.

Newenlightenmentnow 11 months ago 4
@Newenlightenmentnow
That's exactly how the Liberal Party in Canada destroyed the Conservative party in the 1993 elections: they beat them over the head with all their scandals financial malfeasance and Mulroney's incompetence as a leader.
Hammerfall794 11 months ago
@Hammerfall794 I'll bet their scandals and malfeasance wasn't half of what Bush's were or shitbags like John "pass out cigarette Lobby checks on the house floor" Boehner. Basically if I were in his shoes, I'd make the nice speeches about being everyone's president, but when I'm done, being republican would be about as popular as being the village child molester. In reality, that's how it should be, the way they fucked everyone over.
Newenlightenmentnow 11 months ago
A few Mulroney era scandals and failures:
Well there was the failure of the Meach Lake and Charlottetown accords (constitutional amendments),
The outright failure of his government to shrink the debit (it actually exploded under his stewardship),
The CF-18 affair where he gave special treatment to a lesser qualified maintenance company because they were in his Quebec riding,
The botched privatization of Air Canada and the mishandling of the Air India investigation just to name a few.
Hammerfall794 11 months ago
The Oka standoff where he sent in the army against Mohawk Indian protesters (which made the situation much worse) who were upset over a development plan that had been rammed through by town council without consulting them (it was a golf course that was to be built on their ceremonial land).
And last but not least the Airbus Affair in which he took payoffs from Karl-Heinz Schreiber in order to ensure that Air Canada bought new Airbus planes (this only came out after he left office).
Hammerfall794 11 months ago
Cont:
All of these scandals and failures on Mulroney's part decimated the Conservative party in the 1993 election (they even lost their federal status as a party in the house of commons) and handed the Liberals a massive landslide victory (one of the largest in Canadian history) along with a majority that would last for almost ten years.
Hammerfall794 11 months ago
@Hammerfall794 Oh please don't think I was trying to get in a pissing contest. I love Canada. The reason why I love Canada is for what you're describing. You face your fuckups, and hold people accountable. Obama is too big of a coward to do that. As I said, I would have relished the opportunity to make republican as popular as the local baby raper.
Newenlightenmentnow 11 months ago
@Newenlightenmentnow
What the US needs is for Obama to be a Trudeau style liberal who looks at his enemies and the opposition and says "screw them, I'm doing it my way and there's nothing they can do about it" and when the opposition media (fox news) questions him about what he's doing he shouldn't be nice and polite he should say simply "oh really? just watch me".

chaumont20 11 months ago
@chaumont20 Oh sure. That's laughable. If you don't have the brain power to figure out that democrats and republicans are one in the same then there's no hope for you.
Vortex1988 11 months ago
@Vortex1988 The difference between Democrats and Republicans is the difference between Liberals - Progressives and Conservatives. You do agree that there is a difference there don't you ?
chaumont20 11 months ago
@chaumont20 There's a difference between Liberals and conservatives because they are different ideologies. You don't have to be liberal to be a democrat and you don't have to be conservative to be a republican. Democrats and Republicans are exactly the same. They get paid by the same people, which is why nothing ever changes.
I'm a liberal, but the democrats don't represent me. They might talk a lot of talk about how they do, but none of it is true. Look at action, not rhetoric.
Vortex1988 11 months ago
@Vortex1988 " I'm a liberal, but the democrats don't represent me " Who does represent you ? BTW, there isn't a Republican or Conservative alive who would have wrote a 2,500 page Health Care Bill or a 2000 page Financial Regulatory Bill or a 2100 page Stimulus bill.
chaumont20 11 months ago
@chaumont20 That's all political theater. The health care bill is unconstitutional and will get repealed eventually (not to mention that even if it isn't it still doesn't do what it should), the corporations are laughing at the financial regulatory bill, and what exactly has the stimulus accomplished?
How can you have so much faith in politicians. They don't listen to anyone, liberal or conservative. They only serve the people who fund their campaigns.
Vortex1988 11 months ago
@Vortex1988 I have faith in the Constitution and vote for the person who will defend and follow it's principals. The Question still remains. Who does represent you ?
chaumont20 11 months ago
@chaumont20 Just because someone claims to defend the constitution doesn't mean they will. Who knows though, maybe you're a fan of Ron Paul. I have nothing against him because he's one of the few in Congress who is actually genuine and isn't trying to feed the public bull shit.
As far as who represents me...I guess TYT, Alan Grayson (no longer in office), maybe Anthony Weiner, and US Uncut....as well as anyone else who is sick of politicians who corrupt America for personal gain.
Vortex1988 11 months ago
@Vortex1988 TYT, Alan Grayson, Anthony Weiner and US Uncut (?) are all Liberal - Progressives who all vote Democrat. Right now I like Gov. Chris Christy and Gov. Mitch Daniels. BTW, is there a way to make computer hardware without using oil ?
chaumont20 11 months ago
@chaumont20 Grayson and Weiner are the only ones that I actually might be able to trust though. The rest of the democratic party is corporatist.
As for the whole computer thing, I really don't know. My main concern is gas prices. Everyone uses cars, so everyone must fill it up with gas. We need some sort of new fuel that is manufactured in the US. We shouldn't have to be dependent on countries in the middle east for such a valuable commodity.
