I wish I had a glove like that. Back when I was pitching in junior high, I used to have a left hand glove on the ground behind me on the pitcher's mound and i would wear a right hand glove. It's funny that whenever I was called up to the mound I would walk in with both gloves on so my team would call me "Edward Glovehands" or just "Eddie" for short (wasn't my real name but it stuck). Even funnier that the coaches caught on to the whole Glovehands thing and did that too.
i think that before he goes to the major leagues he should be throwing at least high 80's left handed because a major leaguer can smack a 70-79 mph over the fence
im sorry to all of those that think he will make it to the mlb as a "switch pitcher". he wont. he throws 77-79 TOPS lefty. thats not gonna cut it when everyone else is throwing 90...i even read someone in the yankee office say that they want a NEW YORK impact, NOT a charleston impact...he will more than likely be in AA this yr, which is known as the make or break point so we'll see what he's made of at that point. more than likely he will be a RHP only at some point
@HokiePokie33 I disagree. He is very effective left handed. Speed isn't everything. His left handed slider is very difficult to hit. He will also gain more more velocity left handed as well as right handed. Time will tell. If he gets promoted to AA this year it will be a great test of his ambidextrous pitching skills. Hammer
@HokiePokie33 i think he will make it to the big leagues, speed doesnt matter its pretty much the location, and if u listen to the video he throws 86 tops with his left arm and hes most likely gonna throw with his left arm when its a left handed hitter up and lefty hitters most of the time dont have good success against lefty pitchers
@chicksdigmizunos98 dont listen to what espn video says, i heard FROM HIS MOUTH that he throws 77-79 TOPS..and speed def does matter, do you know how far that ball is gonna go if a major leaguer knows a 77 mph fastball is coming?
@HokiePokie33 tht was 4 years ago when he was a sophmore in college u moron the yankees improved him majorly, mostly working with his leg movement, i was there when they clocked him at 93 right and 84 left im good friends with andrew brackeman of the yankees aaa team and he ntroduced us. get ur facts right.
I had an opportunity to meet, talk with and get the autograph of Pat Venditte when he was teammates with Greg Hellhake, a fellow Creighton pitcher and players on the Quincy Gems during a summer. I went to school with Greg and Pat seemed like a very humble and down to earth guy with a great personality.
