Peter Paul and Mary are beautiful people. I cried and cried why Mary died. I cannot believe she is gone. I am crying now. I love her and Peter and Paul. I wish I could stop crying.
I saw them live in Las Vegas back in the 90's with my daughter who also grew up listening to my old LP's of PP&M. I am so glad that we both experienced them live and got to meet with them after the show. I am sure Mary is in heaven making some beautiful harmony with a choir of angels.
The moral dilemmas that peace activists of the 60s faced, begin to resolve themselves once you begin to implode the desire to hate others into the noble intention of symbolically rooting out hatred itself. Weed Out Hate is a grass roots inititative that can give peace a chance by asking each of us to take responsibiliity to symbolically remove our inner weeds, so that that humandkind can begin to perceive the possibilities of the future.
I heard this for the first time while at summer camp in the late '60s and early '70s. i had no idea who, if anybody, recorded it. tonight I heard it for the first time away from camp, or those musicians who were my friends. Awesome.
I just came back from Gettysburg and yes, this song and its lyrics were posted in one of their museums. I have always loved this song !! Although nobody can sing it like P P & M there is 1 artist who seems to do it equally well and she's known more for her acting and political roles-- Patty Duke. (who knew she could sing?)
Are they all still alive? This song dates back to the early 70's.

@nursejudy15209 Apparently Mary passed away in 2009 due to Leukaemia. I think they are true artists

I saw this show when I was very little, and felt the whole world stopped just to listen to this moving and beautiful song.

Uma música dessa, deveria estar na cabeça da humanidade, dos governantes, para que acordassem para a paz.
Maravilhosa.

Probably THE best folk group ever! I think the tone is a bit flat, but that may be the recording.

It took me long to like this one, as it sounded too sweet in the versions I know.
This one is more sad, so clearer,
PPM is the best, and Mary is unbelievable.
