@draussie Sorry to be so blunt, but what we are missing in todays music, is the hook. Memorable parts. Imagine you sitting at a camp site and someone belts out the hook of the song. Everyone joins in. Listen to music prior to 1990's, try 1960's, 50's 70's. All had hooks, melodies that you love to sing. It's missing in todays 1 to 2 word chorus songs

@pkrska Yes I know what you mean. Songs from groups like the Eagles, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chicago, Creedence Clear Water Revival, Led Zepplin, Kiss, Meat Loaf, Air Supply to name a few. They just don't make em like that anymore. The Magarita song is one that comes to mind immediately. Hopefully, new talents like Dan are going to see this as an opportunity to bring this kind of music back.

This guy is a friggen star. If he stays level headed and continues his grounded approach he will tear up the charts. Excellent vocals, music, lyrics and total composition. Would have loved to see the drums open up a little more in the chorus and perhaps his guitar buzz through a little more energy but as Danny said, the song was very uplifting. Great job!

Our radio stations should be supporting artists like Dan and helping promote local music rather than plastering us with American crap. We have much homegrown talent, we just never get to hear it that often on the radio. This song is good enough to be a hit on the charts

Last year i supported the blackbirds. When they did not make it to the grand final they didn't get a recording contract., I like many others put money in to back their album and I love it, My name is even on the cover because i put the money in to help make it, but thats not why i did it. Dan if you don't get a recording contract out of this, I like many others will be queuing up to support you, but i think you are the best act.

Now this guy is "great" and "honest" as to who he is! Unlike Stuart Biggins who is lying through his teeth!! I should know.. Stuart comes from a VERY wealthy family (not some country town) recording contract, played with Crowded House (Myer rooftop '87) and is still very much in the music industry, (suffering Tiler)?? @pspoverdrive Semi Finals and Finals are picked by the people. The judges are there just for comments and in case it gets out of hand stupid lol. Dan is a great artist. I think australia has more talent then is allowed to be shown on this show.

@Carimm60 if they do it like they did in Britains got talent then the judges do have a say, top 3 are announced, top 1 voted goes in then the judges vote for who they want in. Havnt seen Aus on tv yet, so im not sure if thats how they do it
