New album is AWESOME and I think a lot better than Appeal To Reason. And I think it's good that they try out some new stuff with each record. I mean, I don't want to have an album twice. So fuck people who say they want another "Revolutions Per Minute". Of course, every album is great but it's normal that a band evolve and change after 6 records and almost a decade! And every record still sounds like Rise Against, no matter if more melodic, more screams or more hardcore. They're all genius.

hardcore is in your face, fast paced, heavy instruments, and ruff vocals but can have lighter ones. screaming may appear but soley for breakdowns. you cna be hardcore without even coming close to screaming. hell rise against has rarley screamed even the unravleing he just had a very gritty voice. the 09 ep songs did scream.

@jsh020 ok i agree with everything except the screaming part. screaming is not JUST for breakdowns. it varies with the artist/band and with different styles of hardcore music (melodic harcore,post-hardcore,etc). screams can me more or less popular with the genres but can be anywhere throught the song none the less. but don't get me wrong, screaming is not necessary with hardcore. and please dont say "screamo". that word has no relation to any type of harcore music at all.

According to the interviews, the band likes having Bill's and each other's open opinions. I think they're blunt each other too, not just Bill changing things
