Next time you should try building it on layers. That way, you can set the opacity of the black to about 10% so you can still see the details of the person using the ipod like in the real ads.

pls use layers...with them your photo is much easier to make...

you even can draw your body all the way black, make a new layer and put down the opacity of the layer with the black color of your body...now just draw over the earphones...after you've done that you just can put the oacity settings back to 100%

I really, REALLY, rather prefer to use the polygonal lasso tool to crop out the person first, put them in a new layer, edit my background, and then inverse my selection to color in the background. This process leaves blue spots around the person.

Quick selection tool is stacked on top of the older magic wand too. The quick selection tool is also a new function to Photoshop CS3, so if you're using a previous version this might just require a little manual masking. You could use the magic wand too from previous versions to get close, then touch everything up with a nice layer mask. Same applies here, the quick selection tool yields decent results, however they are not perfect. Overall good basic tutorial.

I've always though that Myriad Pro was the closest font face to it, save the default character spacing, it's off by just a bit.
