  • I just love all the sexual double-entendre in the show, funny and witty...not much of that nowadays...just plain crass humour. And all the hints at Mr Humphries' sexuality are done with so much fun without being derogatory or vulger. Just loving the talent of the writers !

  • Mrs. Slocum is right as rain...

    MOUSE TRAPS ARE CRUEL

  • i watch this on my android while i am on the bus going to work

  • Classic Mrs. Slocombe. I'll put my P***y in front of the hole. That should scare that mouse.

  • i miss mr grainger =(

  • The dry look on Captain Peacock's face when he says "I don't like that man"

  • ohh brilliant you used my title :D (this wasnt the original title for this episode, but another youtuber wanted suggestions so i came up with this :])

  • I finally realized what this show was lacking. It needed a Mr Lucas/Spooner type character.

  • @godhatesthestupid Definitely not Mr Spooner. AYBS was never the same after Mr. Lucas left.

  • @godhatesthestupid Yeah, that would have been great!

  • @godhatesthestupid

I think what it really needs is Ms. Belfridge ;-)

  • I didn't really have a chance to talk to him. He was signing autographs at a store in a mall in Northern Virginia, promoting the local PBS channel. There was a long line, but I was able to get two books signed by him. When it was my turn, I told him I had two AYBS for him to sign... He was personally autographing everything and would ask everyones name so he could sign it for _____. I told him that I wanted him to sign both in my name and he said, "Ohh, so your greedy!!" It was too funny.

  • @SherwoodB66 ARGh Ur so lucky. If only theyd come to New England PBS stations :(

  • Crazy as this might sound, Fleur Bennett and John Inman made a cute couple!

  • Crazy as this may sound, Fleur Bennett and John Inman did make a cute couple!

  • @MrsWLeach Yes they do!! She was about 20 years younger than him and she was the one acting like the 'big sis' (as she put it!) My favorite scene of them was when they are peeling the onions in the kitchen. It's a classic!

  • @SherwoodB66 Thanks, Sherwood. If you happen to see any BEHIND THE SCENES material on the show, could you let me know. I'd love to see it! I'm sure we all would!

  • @MrsWLeach Absolutely! The only behind the scenes footage I've really seen were the specials John Inman did - Mr. Humphries mother talking about his career at Grace Brothers... I have a an AYBS book personally signed by John Inman, and it gives a lot of background information about the actors. One of the funniest comments by Frank Thornton was that Arthur Brough (Mr. Grainger) used to sneak off to a pub next door inbetween shooting his scenes, and even then, he never missed any lines..

  • @SherwoodB66 Very cool! Did you have a chance to talk to him at all, or was the book sent to you? From the interviews I've seen on Youtube, he seemed like a nice man! Somehow, the story about Aurthur Brough doesn't surpise me too much. Whenever I'd watch AYBS and see Mr. Grainger, he reminded me of Winston Churchhill, who had a love for the drink. I saw an AYBS book that included the Grace and Favor days. I Wish I'd bought that.

  • Sorry Mrs. Leach, I hadn't seen your comment that you were aware of Trevor Bannister passing away. Very sad indeed to see such talented actors and actresses passing on because they were all brilliant...

  • @SherwoodB66 Not to worry! Boy, though, that was a surprise to read! And equally surprising to hear/ read that Mr. Rumbold (Nicolas Smith) is still with us. Someone told me he died. Serves me right for believing unsubstantiated info. But thanks, all! Thing is, I have watched the original AYBS I don't know how many times. To me, Trevor still looks like Mr. Lucas! OY!!!

  • @MrsWLeach I do wish they had made more episodes, but I'm very grateful for all the episodes they have and the great ones that have taken the time to upload them on here so they are available to all. It's just one of those shows you can watch over and over and over and never tire of them. In fact, I think they are even funnier the more I watch them!

  • lol. i'll put my pussy in front of the hole....love ms. slocumb and her references to her pussy. lol. she still has her fire, i hate that they changed her outrageous hair styles and colors

  • @iroc31407 Actually, they didn't change her hairstyles and colors. When the AYBS series first started she actually colored her hair for each episode, but she stated it took it's toll on her hair, so they started using colored wigs. For Grace & Favour they stuck with her natural hair (which was her decision) just to keep up with times and show that she (and all the characters) had aged from when they were at Grace Bros.

  • @SherwoodB66 I know that. i mean why they wouldn't let her continue wearing the funky wigs in spite of...but oh well, love ms. slocumb anyway.

  • @SherwoodB66 I meant that I miss the hair color. was my favorite part of her character's personalities.

  • @iroc31407 I agree with you. I loved the colored hair because it looked so natural with her personality. But from what I've read in an AYBS book that I have, it was her choice to go natural. For Grace & Favour she thought that the colored wigs had run its course and all the colors had been done once or twice.

  • Mrs Slocumb really does have nice legs for an older woman

  • it this the sequil series to the are you being served series? cause if ti is...... I FINALY FOUND IT!!! AFTER 2 YEARS!

  • @irongirl100 yes it is the sequel to are you being served....

  • @sean3leftwich You can use Zamzar to download these videos.

  • i love how mr. humpfries still looks good!

  • @kajekitty I think he looked better on this show! Definitely when his hair went gold. For some reason, that works better for men. Go figure! But Wendy Richard looked good as well. I remember when Eastenders first started, and I was looking at Pauline Fowler, trying to figure out where I'd seen her before. The two characters were SOOO different it took me a couple of episodes before I figured it out!

  • "You just give me a nudge if anything makes yours stand on end"

    OMG! LOL!

  • I absolutely love this show. I only wish they made more episodes. Thanks for uploading.

  • @SherwoodB66 Amen! Sadly, of the original AYBS cast, only Frank Thornton (Captain Peacock) and Trevor Bannister (Mr. Lucas) are still with us.

  • @MrsWLeach Actually Trever Bannister died a few weeks ago:

  • @callzum2 No way!!! SAD!!! Thank you for letting me know.

  • @MrsWLeach - I'm sad to inform you that Trevor Bannister passed away two weeks ago. Frank Thornton and Nicholas Smith (Mr. Rumbold) are still living.

  • Too brilliant for words.
