To everyone that is wondering about sighting in an Eotech, I am going to post a video next week that will demonstrate how to zero. Please post your issues and I will try to address them on the new video.
Send me some info on how to zero mine! I just bought a 512. I have it on a bushmaster carbine with a 16 in barrel. I want it zeroed at 50 yrds. I am con fused about adjusting the sight. If your are hitting to the right of target do you need to move it right or left? I don't know why this is so confusing to me?
Best sight i have ever bought/ seen. zeroing in was very easy. and stays zeroed in. mines is a 552, it has been through hell, but still works perfectly, thank goodness for the outer protective cover!
All the EOTechs I've used usually start to have issues after about 1,000 rounds during a tactical course. I find an Aimpoint to be more rugged. And I prefer a 2 MOA dot over a distracting ring.
Send it back to EOTech for a replacement. You must have got a lemon or bought one of the cheap Chinese fake EOTechs that they make illegally for airsoft players.
It was an authentic EOTech purchased by an EOTech dealer. I was running it pretty hard so I wasn't surprised it would run into some trouble. This is common among buddies that run EOTechs as well although most of them switched to Aimpoints or Trijicons.

I read that these things are not very reliable...
I've never bought quality electronic optics but I did, it would probably be an aimpoint or an acog, this eothech technology is too knew, it has yet to be perfected.
they have standard windage and elevation adjustments, the same as any scope. If you send me your email, I can send you a super easy way to zero it. I can usually zero a new sight in 3-5 shots.
it's good for any any rifle with a rail system, i have the 511. i plan on buying the magnification addition so i can choose between killing close range or far away.
You motherf*cker, lol. Now I absolutely have to get the 512.A65!! Great video man. Thanks for the great info, your bosses should commend you on your presentation.
Can you please tell my what inspired the change of the brightness buttons to be set on the left side? Is it the ease of use, and not having to put a hand in between you and the sight while possibly aquiring a target?
it is for running a magnifier or a NV behind it. it allows the changing of the brightness or restarting the clock on the aut shut off, without flipping the optic.
The N battery is not a good choice for AK, the 512 with Lithium batteries or the 516 with side buttons would be a better choice. the only thing that might hold you back is the availability of the CR123 battery in AK.
Can I change my recticle on my 511.d1 eotech???

They are extremely reliable, in fact that's why our troops love them. You can break 90%of the glass out on them and still have a zero.

Assuming you're shooting a 16" barrel AR-15 in .223/5.56...
Shoot at a large, 25-yard target to get it "on paper" first - adjust it to hit around 1-2" below point of aim.
Then, move to a 50-yard target, and adjust it to hit DEAD-ON at your aim point.
With the scope zeroed at 50 yards, your POI should be within 2" of POA from 10 yards all the way to around 230 yards.

What's the dif between the LaRue mount and the ARMS mount?
omfg191 3 years ago
different adjustments, but like I said we're sticking with our ARMS mount (we like it) for now.
nbogdan123 3 years ago
LaRue mounts are superior.

Great Video, Now I may get a 512 instead of a 511 because the "N" batteries won't like the cold of Alaska.
