first- this is NOT a processor, right !so Ur not gonna make new sounds ..u are goin´ to use what its load in ok when u unpack this or any other unit..the patches r always a base to start with , but u have crank up this to get a good and decent distortion .or fix the delay chorus and flanger parameters.. in order to get the sound that you wish..think in this like .a pedalboard ,picture that u are usin´5 or 6 separated pedals you have to fix the parameter´s or ranges gud luck doe !

@023132 I've got one and wasn't worth the £100 I paid for it. it sounds nothing like what this guy does in the video. I run it on a Peavey Valveking 212 100watt valve combo and don't think it sounds all that good.

Not all that into effects, all i need is good setting on my Marshall JCM800, and from there on i just mess with the volume and tone (also gainboost knob) on my guitar, the only effect i have, which i love, is the Digitech Harmony Man, which is epic

This thing does vary from amp to amp, and indeed the pickups make big diffrences too. I have this and it sounds a bit better through a small amp for some reason. And the presets suck.

there are a lot of effects on this thing. but i would spend a little more if i where you so that you can buy a peddle with a few more effects. nontheless, this works great, has a lot of options and you can do a lot of tricks with it.

but the me 25 can do a bit more so i would recommend that one.

The problem I have with the pedal is the "noise" level when in distortion mode. I don't know...maybe its my guitar, but I'm using a Strat? Just seems for me that when I am on stage and miced up...when I step down on the distortion...man!! The noise is crazy. Any advice is appreciated. I've only been playing 40+ years.

you can use the NS 2 noise suppresor pedal from boss or you can put the volume of your guitar down a little or you can also use the ns threshhold, thats an integrated noise supressor, look for them they are also the bank up down buttons, btw when in memory mode press pedal 3 for two seconds to use 1 and 2 as bank up and down so you dont have to strecth down to look for them!hope this help, btw the ns 2 is good because it does not kill your tone, and the me 20 has 17 effects,nice buy

@wack3088 You should read a manual. If it's too hard to turn on wah, you are able to decrese strength needed to turn it on it, by changing some settings (it's all written in a manual).

Yeah, a lot of effects are useless live. They sound cool in the bedroom but when you get onstage you just dont need some of them. I find compression useless. Chorus, particularly stereo just doesnt come across onstage. Maybe an overdrive and a delay or something. Thats all I need.

Yeah, but remember kids: uncle Johnny does not mention that he has an American Fender ($1,000+) with upgraded hi output DiMarzio (?) pickups and he's playing into an amp that probably costs 50 times the price of that BOSS pedal. LOL The only thing cheaper than that BOSS in his possession is his shoes. So, your results may (and will) vary. Besides being so remarkably soft-spoken, uncle Johnny can actually play some fucking serious guitar! :)))

yeah men, and look at the monster cables and hes probably using a roland so sound really varies, but this even give a nice clean crisp sound out of my seymour duncan distortion mayhem in a squire custom and sounds great less say also thats it needs a noise suppresor because sometimes it gets noisy but i just turn down volume and its ok!

@AntiEmoMetalhead92 I am of course no Johnny DeMarco - I can't even do chicken pickin'! lol However, I prefer to have medium output pickups and get distortion from a preamp, rather than from the pickups straight up. I think it gives you more variety. As for the noise - try some shielding. There are lots of guides on the net how to shield cavities and even some adhesive copper crap is sold pretty cheap to do it. Cheapest upgrade, but huge difference in some cases.

nice answer there you gave me there men and it is appreciated here, but i really like the clarity of my pups, they give nice sound, about the copper shielding hell yes i was that one on musicians friends about 3 weeks and it is called dimarzio shielding tape, another one for the noise is that if u use an ac adapter for pedals, they can give hum to the amp and theres a danelectro ac adapter at MF about 9 bucks, thanks for advice!!!!!!!!!!!!
