Hey Original, I was going to be getting the apex 37 2011 for this summer coming, but realized that maybe it's not the best board for me... 5, 8" 65 pounds, i ride a pretty poor pintail at the momment, but want to get into siding, cruising and just all over longboarding... is there a better board out there for me than the apex 37?

@superphil92 Exactly. People are too afraid they're going to get sued somehow if someone does get hurt. Yes, it's more dangerous to go without a helmet but if you're not just riding around doing stupid stuff with no thought to the risks and you're using common sense, it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't say I'm anti-helmets, but if you know the risks it should be your choice whether to wear one or not. No one's forcing you to go without a helmet, so whatever happens is your own fault, right?

I would say no. The beast was made for freeriding and s8's aren't. Look into getting soft bushings for a more lively ride or s8 type of feel if you want the Beast.

@simplybrody, I would recommend something from landyatchz, sector nine downhill division, or the progressing jet boards. they are trusted brands that are great for progressive riders, original longboards are meant for people who just cruise

@Matthopskie Check out the pintail 43! It's a great board for carving and cruising around. You may also want to get red medium tension springs for your trucks for a bit more stability.

@KronicIronhorse420 The freeride 41 with w concave would be a great set up for what you want to do. It's stable at high speeds and with the w concave your feet lock into the board.

@DocterE01 hey Andy! You may want to check out our new Freeride boards which will be out soon. They can definitely handle high speeds and some freestyle as well. These boards are also very durable so you wouldn't have to worry about it snapping.
