Hey man, i box and i study tape extensively. i hate on Calzaghe because his personality really gets on my nerves. Though most boxers personalities get on my nerves, so that's not saying much. Great fighter, but his style is very taylored for himself and his own skill set. You would never teach a kid coming into a gym to fight like he does, because he's so unconventional. One of the reasons i'm such a big Kessler fan, very good fundamentals and solid skillset.

#1 Hopkins destroyed Antonio Tarver, the guy that acted in his film, so he wouldn't have much of a like for him.
#2 Calzaghe was an Italian like Stallone.
But yeah, the decision was disputed, it was close, but sources like ESPN, the Associated Press and Mike Tyson gave it to Hopkins, 114-113.

i hate on Calzaghe, but i know he's a great fighter. i'm not a fan of his style or his personality, but you can't argue with success. And it's hard to argue that he hasn't earned all of those wins. Because he clearly has won the fights that have gone the distance. i wish he would've given Kessler a rematch though, Kessler is an awfully underrated fighter, and the obvious heir to the Supermiddleweight crown. Oh well.

Hey man, i box and i study tape extensively. i hate on Calzaghe because his personality really gets on my nerves. Though most boxers personalities get on my nerves, so that's not saying much. Great fighter, but his style is very taylored for himself and his own skill set. You would never teach a kid coming into a gym to fight like he does, because he's so unconventional. One of the reasons i'm such a big Kessler fan, very good fundamentals and solid skillset.

Very fast hands, especially for his weight class and tremendous stamina. First ballad hall of famer, no doubt.

Erm, I think you'll find both Froch AND Kessler are one dimensional.
The main difference is that Froch can find more gears than Kessler and is much better on the inside and going toe to toe.
Kessler is FAR to straight lines with little side movement and too Euro to be or beat the best.
He was good at what he did, could punch and was world class,but he's finished now,too little activity.
Expect a good fight from them both,with Froch just having too much and winning on points or late stoppage.

If you said Calzaghe was a bad fighter, you'd sound VERY, VERY, VERY foolish.
Plus, Dawson was worthless when Joe was operating and was VERY lucky to get the win over Johnson 1st time round.
Lacy was FAR more threatening an opponent than Dawson and look what happened.
Hindsight is all fine so dont even go there, 'Lacy was shit' etc. Lacy was the favourite and was expected to destroy Joe.
It didn't happen and the same would have applied to Dawson only probably not by a shut out.

At the end of the day, am from Britain and love my country but too much hype should not be made because it very embarrasing for our country especially when audley harrison, joe calzaghe, ricky hatton and even dany william were over-hyped.
The best fighter at this moment from Britain is Junior witter and David Haye, trust me!

Haye and Witter? One is pathetic in big fights, the other hasnt ever really fought one. Calzaghe wasn't at his best but he still beat BHop, to see his best look at Lacey and Kessler- he was immense. As for Ricky, 42 fights unbeaten can hardly be dismissed when losing to a boxing great at the wrong weight. Audley and Danny are always going to get attention as there are no decent heavyweights, but do not dismiss our better fighters- especially Joe who has done us proud.

calvinbrookretire. witter is overated, danny williams could put up a good fight when he wanted which was rare. audley harrison is a laughing stock. ricky hatton only lost once. david haye may be good at heavyweight but we'll have to wait and see. i don't know what fight you were watching but 2 of 3 american judges had calzaghe winning. bhop had 2 gears, reverse and slow which when he wasn't pretending to be hurt did for 12 rounds. bhop was to negative, to old and to slow.

everyone who thinks calzaghe never won this fight hasnt got a clue ,, its about stats, punches landed, yep hopkins looked like he could of been much better but that aint the buisness, its about fighting not dancing , no wonder he had no support who would turn out too see dancing on ice lmao, i would love hopkins to have a re-match in Cardiff but noone wants to see him running we all want to see a fight , the olympics is about hopkins style, not the real deal ,,,,
