Vaganova Academy,3rd Grade, Novitskaya/Gortchakova part 4

This is the most UNgifted class at the Vaganova Ballet Academy ever!

Unfortunately, ms. Gortchakova posted herself here, and couldn't say anything else about the Academy in general as she was EXPELLED!

Seriously, ALL girls classes at the Vaganova have great turn out, extentsions, feet! But not in this class! No wonder that NOBODY from this class became a soloist/principal anywhere! And most of this girls were expelled out from the Vaganova right after this year and later !!!

@rlion2005 I see what you mean, but I don`t understand how some of this girls werent spelled before. Some lack of natural turnout, balance, grace, etc.

Yes, eventually V.Gortchakova was out, but she made in Vaganova for 4 years actually: 1988-1992.

Gortchakova - author of this video;

NOVITSKAYA - teacher, who actually is very good; a lot of Novitskaya's girls came to DUDINSKAYA after first 4-5 years w/Novitskaya. Dudinskaya - the legendary teacher & ballerina in USSR/Russia; USSR people's artist, the favorite Vaganova's student, etc.!

But, this class didn't go to Dudinskaya after !!!

when do they start doing double pirouettes in the vaganova curriculum?

yes, I would like to know how long their class lasts, as well. I have such a difficult time getting everything in in a 1.5 hour class... I like to give a full barre, but it usually takes about an hour. I could combine more exercises, I guess, but usually the music cds aren't very conducive to combined steps. Any suggestions?

well i dun exactly agreed with you since it's quite a classical Russian ballet class some posture may not be the same with the RAD requirement, personally I think this makes them more elegant only, believe it or not !

how long is their technique class? How does the teacher manage to get all these great combinations in the center, after a full barre?
