  • ..didn't he just suggest that he was at the birxton riots in '81?

  • 4:46 Man put that bitch in her place. Massive respect for this old dude .. telling it like it is.

BBC is only good for some EPL gossip and light hear ted documentaries like "my penis, etc etc".

I'd place them at being a little bit above CNN's crap when it comes to actual news.

  • He's right, USA is not doing that well either, you can check whats going on in NY and California. It will soon spread into Texas Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Carolina s, Tennessee and all of the other Big states in the USA. The End is near, all this is in the Bible how it will all start and end up in the end.

  • @simonturner73 same in London also

  • @simonturner73 you dont understand that young people donot have to comply with your ways of life the youth are going to change society and you can not do anything about it .the people who lost everything have lots of things they have their own and some to sell. clothes that could clothe hundreds of peopole so if the people who have no clothes or home come by and pick up a sweater to survive the winter thats justified 100% the people who have everything to loose are the problem in society.

  • @kernel246 if they have to take items wich are not necessities to trade for the things they need it is also justified it is unjustified to pay taxes and be a slave for your countrys group trying to dominate at least a part of the world. europe should know about the 13 bloodlines who own the world but thats not real its just a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorie and hitler was not a false flag rothschild whos goal was to make anti-jewlery illegal because the world owners cant have enemies

  • True, Cenk may not have the full story about the riots outside of London, but just from the tone and choice of words made by that lady reporter, one gets a sense of how British minorities are not genuinely granted their full civil rights.

  • Multiculturalism has caused the riots.

  • Black constructive rioting for the express purpose of opportunist looting.

  • I usually agree with TYT on most issues but this video is seriously off base. Darcus Howe was making absurd points, points not supported by the IPCC investigating the death of Mark Dugan and provably exaggerated - his head was in NO WAY "blown off". The news presenter's question about condoning the violence was poorly thought through but it sounds like she had to decide what to ask on the spot and it was a bit banal. Please research what you comment on more thoroughly in future.

  • Look up the "Secret Policeman" [probably on google videos] to see a very interesting video on institutional racism in the British Police force.

  • everytime i comment on your shilly pages i get a troll sooner or later.

  • @JRMCNEA I was agreeing with you.

  • @mqldelta I know

  • I remember the Los Angeles riots after the Rodney King beating. All the rioters in the first couple hours were POS thugs & deadbeats. As it unfolded, it quickly became obvious that Chief Daryl Gates was holding back the police to show all of us what the Rodney Kings of the world would do law enforcement didn't exist. The kids in London, whatever color & race, didn't give a sh*t about a dead black man, whether he was guilty or not. Opportunism & destruction of the culture, plain & simple.

  • And why the comments about the police targeting blacks? Because the VAST majority of violent/serious crime in London's deprived areas is black, and particularly black-on-black. London has a huge problem with racial gangs, and it's hardly surprising that the police stop and search more of those who are statistically most likely to be involved in serious crime.

  • These rioters get thousands of pounds in benefits each year. They get council houses. They get the protection of a fair legal system, an army, and a police force. They get their streets cleaned, their roads maintained, and so on. And who pays? THE TAXPAYER. And you say they're "abandoned" by the government???

These people are opportunistic thugs, and their communities need to help themselves, rather than go around blaming the cops and government,

  • Bill Cosby???

  • this riot was not about race. Hell it may have started out as a protest, in spite of the fact that nobody really knows what happened at the scene, it's very inconclusive as of now. But that event just became an excuse for people to go out and cause whatever kind of havoc they felt like.

  • This man is talking utter nonsense. I was affected by the riot and i live in Clapham, a middle class area. This man was trying to say it was about race, when in fact it had nothing to do with race. My whole area was trashed by people looting and stealing for FUN, and it was predominantly teenagers between the ages of 12-17 and it was people of all colours, in particular Caucasian and black. The riot has nothing to do with Mark Duggan, it was purely for teenagers to loot and get things for free!

  • Mark Duggan, a good kid? Are you serious? Oh, that explains then why he was part of a ruthless gang, feared by many, that was linked with the death of a police officer in 1985. If that's your definition of a 'good kid', then fuck me.

  • These riots were not about some social injustice. It was just a senseless reason for young retards to go out and trash things. Look at what happened in Vancouver after game 7 in stanley cup finals. Those morons in Vancouver were not deprived or socially oppressed, they just got caught up in mob mentality and started trashing the city, and stealing shit in the middle of the mayhem. Majority of London rioters were black, but they were also young fuckers who just wanted a reason to have fun.

  • @hofifut Actually older people don't riot because they're not arseholes - for the most part. They did, however, go out in protest. They are out there being angry at the poor changes - but also, kids have more time on their hands - especially unemployed ones who now can't afford to go to school.

It's obviously asinine to posit that all riots are due to the economic position of the country - there are many reasons. I'm only saying this is the reason for this one.

  • Black mans vioce is just like Bill Cosbys

  • I find i have little sympathy for people who loot and riot by organising it through mobile internets and pc's anyone with access to the internet or a library has the capacity to educate themselvs. They say they have no hope for the future, i understand that more than i would want, but if they wont broadern their minds through school then they must themselvs. People who did the damage dont have the capacity to express their emotion through words, so they use violence.

  • There were some interesting points made here BUT ultimately the main reason the riots escalated was because youths and yobs saw this as an opportunity. In my view, this had very little to do with the shooting of Mark Duggan. It was simply an excuse to have a go at the government and the Police. Other cities had NO reason to start riots. What I found ironic was that those who were stealing were those without jobs, now they have a criminal record, they have no hope of getting one in the future!

  • I usually like TYT but this is total bullshit.

There are plenty of opportunities in England for people. Those wankers who went around stealing shit are degenerates. If you live in a society that gives you state benefits, has far cheaper education costs than in America, free healthcare, free housing for the poor, then try living in Africa or Bangladesh and then tell me you lack opportunities. Scum suckers.

For a SENSIBLE take on the rioters, search: Pat Condell: London is a riot

  • i wished they were so interested in handing out punishments to those mp's who stole thousands of dollars rather then people who caused hundreds or less indivdually

  • Free healthcare, free education, free food,...so what is the reason for the stealing, robbing and burning? It was not a riot against the political class, it was not a political act, but the opposite: the result of a lack of solidarity, people who do not care about their city and are happy to destroy it and proud about criminality

  • @nuggz503 Spoken like a true American. I'll get of my high horse if you climb out of the gutter.

  • As injustic grows world wide you will see more and more of this! England is not alone in injustic and losing contact with thier people, look at watts detrioit etc, what do you expect when a government terrorize your population, strap your seat belts on world as the wealthy squeese the poor more and more!

  • This is outrageous. Darcus Howe sounds pissed. He must have dementia and be living in the seventies. He needs to start addressing issues like why the Mark Duggans of this world and others of black West Indian descent commit crime and are involved in violent gang culture before he blames the police. No other ethnic group eg Chinese or asian has the same propensity to commit crime but have same educational opportunities. His use of the word "negro" is just provoking confrontation.

  • 'I have been in demonstrations that ended in conflict' i.e/ a riot

  • The guy being interviewed just makes excuses for hooliganism. Stealing pants and videogames has nothing to do with what he is saying.

  • The looters are so fucken stupid. If the Police killed the dude (Which they did), they should LOOT the fuck out of the police stations and anything related to that, not the fucken stores that people open up with their hard-earned money.

  • @Chris12163 you do that and you get a bullet through your head, either way you look at it you lose. and the only way you can go against an establishment is, you need someone powerful infront of you to do it, its doubtful the riots will have any effect on the parliment, the hacking scandel didn't. the riots have shook the country up but not enough for a complete turn around.

  • @Chris12163 in some ways if it was all over the country it would be helpful for our country, because everything would be changed, maybe for the better. but at the same time it wouldn't be good either, as our economy would go into complete turmoil as we try and fix everything. and i agree they are stupid, but anyone is in these sorts of situations.

  • @rostant999 Asians and eastern Europeans aren't treated the same way black immigrants are treated. It should be no surprise then that they don't have the same problems.

  • An "unfortunate" way huh...

Am I the only one who believes Cenk might be a little too soft on these rioters? It's Britain, they do get chances.

  • ipad revolution. Pffff

  • The Police can do no wrong...!!!!!.....Stop and Search laws are what you would expect from Hitlers SS..GESTAPO....

  • And what about the student riots? Surely u can't say they just wanted to cause damage.

  • Ppl keep saying that the rioters were only a bunch of thugs, + that they didn't understand enough to be pissed at the state of the country. Bull. They can see clearly that they're being fucked over by the gov.

  • I UPLOADED A VIDEO OF A GIRL GETTING ROBBED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT DURING THE LONDON RIOT! IT'S A MUST SEE. come see it at my channel

  • I originally throught the guy says that he does condone the riots and the use of the word "inserrection" can give you the wrong impression about what he's talking about.

Also, I don't think the reason for the riots has any deep sociological catalyist other than being a justification to cause mayhem. People think fire is fun, people like things, people take things, it make them feel better.

  • THE CAPTIONS ARE FUCKIN WRONG AS SHIT!!!

  • This is a joke right, thise captions are completely FUCKED!!!

  • T.M. Halawa High Security Prison. Oahu, Hawaii. We are watching U.K.

  • Snowball effect. Not everyone act out on their thoughts, but quite a few do. Rioting, can happen anywhere, anytime with the right catalyst. These unfortunate events happen, in my opinion like wildfires do in the forest, anything in its path gets taken out. HOPEFULLY those individuals who overlook equality, compassion, fair justice, humility, and Im talking to Law enforcement decision makers too, wake up, and smell the coffee this problem won't go away. Reality: more $ goes to police.

  • @TKDGSA Why in the world should an american organization use English terminology?? I mean when the BBC does reports on the USA they don't use american vocabulary. In addition, the BBC always gives inaccurate and bigoted reports on the USA. So I guess this is no different.

  • @Moionfire Whilst the BBC are not perfect, they are at least relatively unbiased, unlike TYT here. I've yet to see a BBC report where they show the amount of sheer ignorance and bigotry that Cenk shows when commenting on any country other than the US. Unlike TYT, the BBC actually do some proper research, which is why the BBC are internationally respected and TYT is a youtube show.

Do the BBC call US Senators "MP's"? Nope. And it's "Britain", not "England", there is a massive difference.

  • @TKDGSA The example you gave was him calling a reporter an anchor. Which by the way is inaccurate even for US terminology. Nonetheless in the US we say anchors when the brits would say newsreader. Either way, I doubt when the BBC does reports on the US they say "anchor." I am not justifying TYT's reporting of foreign events. I am just saying your specific criticism is silly.

  • @Moionfire The anchor thing was just a little dig, probably an unnecessary one, but the point that mattered was TYT's pathetic coverage of the riots and, more generally, their coverage of international affairs, which I've found consistently woeful, unless it concerns UK matters, in which case it is both consistently woeful and constantly bigoted.

  • @Moionfire And for the record, I generally support TYT, but they need to do a bit of research every now and again, they should either stick to home affairs or get a decent researcher on international affairs, and not let Cenk touch any international stories; he makes ludicrous sweeping generalisations that are either offensive or laughable.

If TYT did some research, they would realise that these aren't violent protesters; they're chancing looters.

To a Brit, this report is, frankly, a joke.

  • @SinisterSkyline

I didn't say she was racist. I said racist (with an implied question mark) and my response as I don't know but she was a horrible reporter for not listening (even if there were set questions)

  • A decent response to Cenk's view: v=Jg1c6ZY5jFc

  • A decnt response to Cenk's view: v=Jg1c6ZY5jFc

  • 1 more thing i never see no one riot when moat got shot by a white man or when that lil girl got shot by a black man in her dads newsagents!

  • people are falling to mention when they say they keep getting stopped for NO REASON that black people go out robbing white people FACT so the police are just doing there job!

  • she isnt as baad as american reporters, she asks him questions that he would be asked on any other news show but he is given the time to debunk her and comes off well. unlike fox news guests who are constantly talked over and cut off before making there point

  • could she not a least have apologized before she dismissed him?

  • After that reporter I nearly threw my phone across the room.

  • awesome! i just watched this on mychemicalromancegal's channel. glad to see TYT scouring the net.

  • Well said, Jenk. Very well said.

  • What a disgusting interview by the BBC. The women should be fired.

  • @jfrsnjhnsn Go fuck yourself you stupid British faggot! Go drink some tea and die bitch!

  • @Shonenut213 You pleb. Go away nobody likes you here.

  • @Shonenut213 Big fan of American reporters, huh? Got their posters on your walls? That's sweet.

    *drinks tea

    *doesn't die

  • uhm excuse me

dr martin luther king made peaceful protests

and malcom x hated him for that

but time passed and malcom x then realized that he was right

and now blacks have equal rights as well

SURE things are not perfect but we have come a long way

  • In the UK work doesn't allow a person to live a dignified, inderpendent life, benefits do. In the UK it is only passable to top up your benefits with illeagal activerties. In the UK some of these poeple have formed gangs to protect their activerties and protect themselves, there are over 150 gangs in london alone. On Saturday night they wouldn't have dreamed they could do this, one sunday night they suspected it, on monday they knew it.

  • @Dougtheslugmcdoug Fuck off you idiot.

  • this is so stupid, the only reason why he is on tv because of his accent and ethnicity.

  • Darcus Howe is probably the coolest name I've ever heard.

  • Mark Duggan had a hand gun. Possesion of a hand gun in the uk in itself is illegal.

  • @keepingmyeyesshut Killing people is also illegal.Over 300 have died in police custody and no prosecutions have followed.De Menezes was executed and the inquest jury was forbidden from returning a verdict of their choice.False versions of De Menezes death were put out by the police and a grudging acknowledgement of this was made weeks later.False versions of Duggan's death have also been made by the police-they are good at this, aren't they? Shocking.

  • @jhaul21 haha i dont think so. Perhaps I misunderstood you earlier I am not sure sorry mate.

  • Yes, the main reason is the injustice inflicted on the poor. Who enlarged and drop the cup is shot by the police

  • In figures posted about those being prosecuted, it showed that 70% did not even live in the communities that they were attacking. 76% were arrested for looting and 95% were male.

If this had been a protest about poverty/racism/etc why weren't people doing it either at the council offices in their own community or in Parliament Square? Where were all the female protestors?

  • @TychoCelchu how the living fuck would you know the percentages of a riot? your retarded

  • @randomuser942464 Learn to read, you idiot. My post started with "In figures posted about those being prosecuted" the figures came from the people being prosecuted by the courts.

Also it's "you're retarded" not "your retarded", you retard.

  • @TychoCelchu so the possible 5% of rioters that were caught give you the right to say 95% of the all rioters are male, nice one you stupid prick. And since you know your fucking retarded and wrong you have to attack my grammar on youtube? your cool! come up with something more intelligent of an argument rather then attack lazy grammar

  • @randomuser942464 You're the one that misread what I said. It's not my fault that you can't read and write.

You can also look at any video footage to see that the vast majority are male. What's your problem with that?

  • @TychoCelchu it started off as protests, and quickly turned into an excuse for young punks to steal and destroy stuff just because

  • @ZealotsACH I know that. The protest part was completely peaceful. You then got the usual Saturday night crowd that like to start shit with the police.

One 16/17 year old girl hit a police man with a bottle. People cried police brutality, rumour spread and it all kicked off.

Some idiot assaulting a cop and getting knocked on their arse, is pretty normal. It's just that you had a lot of very anti-police people around them.

What followed was idiots who think it's fun to steal and smash stuff.

  • @TychoCelchu its quite obvious the women are protesting(boring) while the men are rioting(fire is fun!)

  • @TychoCelchu what about the ones that were fighting poverty/rascism/etc

  • But most of them young children must deal with them more wisely, not violently. In the end because they are not aware of what they are doing.

  • there are normal people who are doing the rioting.

  • @TopShelfization Ah, but you didn't say HOW it was stupid.

  • The captions crack me up.

  • TYT showing their liberal bias here. Reasonable people are trying to condemn and contain the violence and looting while multi-culturalists are whinging about victimhood and imagined oppression and selfishly marketing their own agendas. We don't need to hear from all these apologists with their phony excuses.

  • "Starish" Mark Duggan, the drug dealer with a gun in a sock was being targetted by Operation Trident, the Met Police operation aimed at preventing black on black killings. It was thought that he was about to avenge the murder of his cousin in a Club in East London when he died from a single shot to the chest, NOT to the head. Personally I think Darcus Howe is getting senile the poor old sod.

  • its true that the black kids in Tottenham hate the police because they get harassed but then a lot of them were only concerned with stealing some new shoes while they had the chance. and that wasn't poverty because most of them have designer clothes already.

  • this is so retard, he was apart of riots in his earlier days and assaulted police offices

  • okay, some people might have used the excuse of being stopped and searched as an excuse to riot and the shooting of mark duggan was the trigger for the original demonstration and subsequent riot, but everything else since then has nothing to do with mark duggan: people are looting, rioting and killing for no reason other then they can and to get 'free stuff'. it doesnt have any political background beyond that.

  • Cenk Uygur. Is a misinformed uneducated clown.

Perhaps he should interview a few of the many hard working Turkish shop owners in North London who had their businesses trashed by these mindless thugs.. and see what they think.

    Insurrection? Fcuk off!

  • Perhaps she heard the word "Writer" and thought they said "rioter"... coz intellectuals are dangerous, with their ideas!

  • This was a political insurrection...but that Plasma TV was just a bonus and my neighbour's house was just asking to get torched.

  • The bbc are usually quite a good media representative's , especially in the uk where the media (mainly newpapers) are made up of twisted phone hackers. This is quite a shock, the man who was being interview could of perhaps phrased it better what he trying to say but still he was only diagnosing why the riots happened

  • THE RICH WILL RUN THE POOR WILL EAT GOD IN HIS HANDS WE ALL WILL SLEEP BY STONETHUG

  • @galept Sooooo, have you seen TYT cover Dylan Ratigan yet? I can't find their coverage anywhere.

  • Cenk Uygur should run for political office. he gets it. and if he was born in the US, he should aspire to run for president one day. i think he could withstand the corrupt political buy outs by corporations.

  • The most bullshit thing about it is that all those looters and rioters get to go back to their homes at night and sleep while all the people who they robbed or whose houses and businesses got torched, cannot.

You wanna make a statement? Burn YOUR OWN house down, trash YOUR OWN car, not the innocent people in that neighborhood.

  • It's bout this fucked up situation and these fucked up police.

It's about coming up and staying on top

and screamin' 187 on a mother fuckin' cop.

It's not written on the paper it's on the wall.

Let it burn, wanna let it burn,

Let it burn, wanna wanna let it burn

  • @brandnutopian good song. sublime is the shit. i dont believe in looting but still, good song, good band.

  • @ZealotsACH I don't think Brad 'believed' in looting either nor do I, but for those of us paying attention it's easy to see why that shit happens.

  • @brandnutopian i don't think he did either. i think he just wrote an awesome song ABOUT the riots. people use riots as an excuse to loot (steal). either peacefully protest, or organize and rise up against tyranical government. but dont just go around stealing shit because u can.

  • @ZealotsACH The song, as I see it, is about frustration being expressed through violence by those who felt a lack of regard by society for themselves. I don't think it's right or wrong, it just is. These thing happen time and again, and mostly for the same reason. The weight of poverty and stagnation wreak untold havoc upon the human psyche.

  • Main Stream media.... This reporter did not have a clue...

  • Mainstream media at it's finest...

  • As an Englishman, I can tell you 1st hand, the people taking part in the riots are not political philosophers. They are not rioting because of deprivation or because of policing. They are rioting because they have realised they can have stuff for free and they enjoy conflicts with the police and they enjoy damaging property, Watch the footage, they are smiling and laughing, desperate people with a cause don't smile during a riot.

  • @nonbe1iever Yes, but we are looking at the underlying reasons why they've taken this as their option to do so. The banks and corporations robbed them of their future, they feel hopeless and that society doesn't care about them. They aren't a political group. It's a mob. But have no delusion why this mob exists and how they came to be one.

  • @Pax00Imperium - I would wager a great sum of money that they most of them could not name even 2 investment banks! You think they are there watching the news or attempting to be informed in any way? They are ignorant thugs by enlarge, who are doing this purely because they can get away with it. It's a simple human trait, most people probably wouldn't hand themselves in to the police if they murdered someone, people don't like consequences.

  • Barack Obama -- The Pacifier is the reason things haven't exploded here in the U.S. The U.K. has never had a civil rights movement of any kind. Rioting is the language of unheard peoples. I.E. French revolution I.E. Russian revolution.

  • Comment removed

  • What a way to change the stereotype?!

They practically proved and essentialized what the police think of them. Frustration?! Keep it to yourself. Who's satisfied anyway?!

  • Although I can understand the frustration that blacks in the UK feel when they are constantly treated unequally and unjustly looting and rioting is not a way to address the issue. Just as looting and rioting did not solve anything after the Rodney King incident.

  • @ godslove1976:

Yea, but just with the riots in France in the Banlieues, these people tend to NEVER get listened to when they just SAY something. While when they RIOT, they have all the attention. Plus it gives a chance to get rid of frustration through destruction. Ancient psychological mechanism. You want to see if I´m right? Just look at this interview: The journalist is talking to one of the most reasonable people imaginable. But she choses to keep shutting him up and provoke him ffs!

  • So you have enough and thats why you burn down the shop from Jack and Jill from down the street? Thats why you burn down the car of your neigbours accountant? Thats why you burn down the house of your local pub owners. Just scum who lack ANY kind of empathy, they don't have the ability to understand what they are actually doing. They think they can do anything, the only way to stop them is giving them a reality check by smacking them in the face with a police issued baton.

  • TYT supports looter this week, and white supremists murders last...but then slanders the NRA for stopping Obama from punishing legal gun owners to cover up the BATF giving guns to Drug Cartels...which he was going to use to enact stricter gun laws, against legal gun owners..until an ATF whisleblower and gun owners who called the NRA put at stop to it...really TYT? Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. As a moderate i am as disgusted by you as your new model, Fox News

  • @DaytonaRoadster They didn't support either...

  • @AlextheTitan bullshit

  • @DaytonaRoadster Evidence please.

  • its funny that London if full of shops , but no one can affords to buy anything lol. this is the reason behind the thuggery and theft.

  • @XxChicoR3b3ld3xX try again moron.

  • @zonepatroller

    Fox news England style

  • Scumbags like the ones who run this and subscribe to this channel.

  • Comment removed

  • @Tychodonas buzzzz wrong try again dumbass

  • i know where this is heading. Ac conflict between the rich vs. the poor and the whites vs. non-whites very sad

  • The illegal rioters should be deported. Social oppression my ass, you useless hoodlums. Get a JOB!

  • @TheBiggestWolf Easier said than done, wanker.

  • first up, ye Duggan had brothers and sisters blah, blah.............the feker also had a gun! So, should police wait till he shot someone?

And it's not political, it's scum out for a free tv.

If it was political, then were was the chants? Were was the placards and banners? Why wasn't anyone chanting about Duggan?

Why was an assistant teacher arrested? You see Cenk, you aint got a clue. It's scum jumping on the band wagon to steal stuff, then coming up with bullshit excuses.

  • @bravepills ...and then there was the accounting student who also works for Marks and Spencer, an estate agent, an aspiring ballerina, a graduate training to be a social worker, a postman, a charity worker from at a hostel, a lifeguard, a fork lift truck driver, and an Army recruit. Not forgetting of course the daughter of a millionaire who helped herself to £5.000 worth of stuff because she was so oppressed by the Police and worried about the lack of opportunity available to her... and so on.

  • Video, comments, it all reeks of petit bourgeoisie

  • These riots had absolutely nothing to do with social injustices. Anyone claiming that is fucking ignorant. The people were looting because gangs got themselves organised and caught the police off guard.

  • @ Saaduk92:

That is nonsense. In recent days, you could hear a lot of people testify that something is seriously wrong in some areas of the U.K., and a wrong attitude within the police AND government are a big part of it (see bribes / Rupert Murdoch by the way). If this was just "some gangs", then how come they have ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE in custody? And I bet they did not even catch half of the rioters! You definitely can´t just attribute this to "some gangs"! This is MUCH bigger!

  • @taxiuniversum

Don't be so ignorant. It was reported several times that the looters were using blackberry messenger to communicate and let each other know where police presence was low. The same applied to an extent on other social media.

This video is absurd as the man is clearly stuck in the past. This isn't Brixton circa 1981. Also, the rioters were mostly attacking small chains, small businesses, and robbing people in the street. That is NOT political.

Oh, and I never wrote "some gangs".

  • @taxiuniversum Cheers for the lecture from Germany! When you can claim you were actually here & physically saw what was going on, we may respect your opinion a little more. In the mean time I'm sure the rioters, who thought it was terrific & moral to set light to innocent people's homes- mostly just working people, looting & smashing up local businesses & charity shops, whilst stealing TV's Nikey's & X-Box's from chain stores, are all very appreciative of your understanding for their situation.

  • @ MrDragon1968:

Yea just see how your arrogance will serve you. Do you want me to apologize for being a German now or what? Maybe you can install another 4 million CCTV cams, but you will NEVER get a society out of this that is acting upon everyone´s conscience! I have been to England and found MOST people I met to be very nice. But I can just say that the U.K. is SERIOUSLY stuck with some anachronistic authoritarian concept of how to run a society, and this is self-destructive and very unwise.

  • @taxiuniversum Nice bit of hyperbole & making up stuff that I didn't say. You haven't got a clue what's going on in the UK. Your inventing excuses for a group of people who don't care about society & thought it was a brilliant idea to smash things up, burn down regular people's flats/houses, assault innocent bystanders, rob charity shops & other small/large businesses for no reason. One of my fellow residents in Ealing died last night just for trying to put out the fires & was attacked for it.

  • @ MrDragon1968:

I pass the "hyperbole and making things up"-part right back to you. Neither me, nor other reasonable people, like the gentlemen in this video for instance, either approve or merely condone what happened. That is OBVIOUS I would say! Well, maybe not to you I guess. If you see that there are factors in a society breeding such events, nurturing developments that have their end in riots, one ought to change it. But the UK government only sends out signals of continued ignorance...

  • @taxiuniversum "I pass the "hyperbole & making things up"- back to you". I'm laughing. You can try, but I haven't done either. Just given you the facts. I live here, saw the rioting & the consequences.

You're right about one thing; there are factors in society that lead to this. Namely a subset of (mostly) part of a generation of young people who haven't been bought up to respect anything or anyone in society. I truly wish the UK riots were about something meaningful, unfortunately they're not

  • @ MrDragon1968:

I have heard interviews with enough credible and down-to earth people who unanimously stated, just like the man in above video, that it is no wonder this happened, and that the police and their random assaults play a big role in it. The U.K. has over 4 million CCTV-cameras spying on everyone. Can you even grasp how sick THAT is, to begin with? But no wonder, with government AND police being on the payroll of rightwing-psycho Rupert Murdoch. He SO LOVES to control the masses!

  • @taxiuniversum *Sigh* If you read through all the comments on here by Brits, or read/watch all the reports in the news- across the board, or just posts & commentary by normal people on the net, most of them are saying the same as I am. We are eye witnesses to this here, don't forget. If you think CCTV cameras & the Murdoch media (however much a cunt he is) are the reason for the riots happening, you're welcome to live in a delusional parallel universe. Thanks for all your advice from abroad.

  • @ MrDragon1968:

You cannot conclude that you are right, just because you share the opinion of a majority. Especially I as a German know that. The point I was trying to make is that, at least so far as I see it, the conclusion that this is merely a matter of "disciplining the public more" is WRONG. Has there been despicable behavior by rioters? Yes. Should protests look different? Yes. Nevertheless - if THOUSANDS of people throughout the UK take part in such activities, it tells you something.

  • @taxiuniversum "if THOUSANDS of people throughout the UK take part in such activities, it tells you something"

It tells you that there is a systemic social problem. This problem can justifiably be pinpointed to a widespread sense of helplessness by the youth in the UK because they are being neglected by their governing officials relative to other groups of people in that country. British policy is hugely discriminatory regarding age. It also speaks to the nanny state that now exists.

  • @ ThoseWhoStayUofM:

I think, too that there is a huge systemic social problem in the UK. If you hear so many people talk about frequent discriminating behavior by the British police, and then hear this Cameron-dude (who just days ago was about to lose his job for "being in bed" with Rupert Murdoch...) demand for a "tougher" police (while he wants to cut the police-budget by 20%!), it shows complete cluelessness, and a stubborn ignorance, that can ONLY lead to failure!

  • @taxiuniversum Here's the point I was trying to make. The people of England have accepted gov't hand outs because they thought the gov't was in their corner. The gov't s not in their corner. The gov't in the UK, and more so in the US, works for whoever can fund their campaigns - BANKERS AND FINANCIERS! The people accepted social entitlement programs because they think they benefit from it. However, the more dependent you become on your gov't, the more power you give them. The gov't owns you.

  • @ ThoseWhoStayUofM:

Agreed to the part of government often working for who finances their campaigns (or who promises a party´s politicians nice and VERY well paid seats in some supervisory board...).

But I disagree on your conclusion: Even in a SOUND state, we ALL depend on the government, because it makes important decisions. This is not the problem - the problem is, if governments ARE CORRUPT!

WE should be, and ought to consider ourselves, as "the government"! ;o)

  • @taxiuniversum You hold such a eruopean mindset and you are incapable of thinking outside of the european box. Seriously... it's getting a little ridiculous. We aren't all dependent upon our government. You can limit the power of the government, and place it in the hands of the people. It really is that simple. Instead of the gov't providing subsidies for education, just stop taxing people. Instead of the gov't providing free health care, just stop taxing people. We don't NEED social programs.

  • @ ThoseWhoStayUofM:

You are wrong, buddy. I do appreciate the spirit of self-reliance in the U.S.. Other than that, most Americans are paranoid and delusional about their government, though. They vote for politicians (!) who hatemonger against "government", then wind up being WAY above average corrupt (see Palin, Bachmann) THEMSELVES. Who pays for the benefits of a modern society for all (roads, police, justice system etc.) if there´s no taxes? No wonder your country is going down the drain!
