Explosions in the Sky are better than music. Music is something you hear and feel, Explosions in the Sky is an experience, there is literally nothing that compares. I love post-rock and all, don't get me wrong, but no one comes even close to their ability to convey an idea and a feeling through the power of atmospheric music. To catagorize them is to limit them and that's just wrong. I don't throw in an EITS cd when I want to hear good music, I throw in an EITS cd when I want to have a good day

I saw them with a friend for the first time without knowing anything about them.. no name, no prior listening, nothing but a ticket. I walked out of the speechless and stunned. Literally have never seen anything like it and i'm a music producer by trade. Just go see them live and forget everything else.

I was sitting in the back of a 15 passenger van filled with people. it was raining outside and was night. i was far away from home.... i had just left home for a 9 month stint. I just stared out the window and my entire life replayed in front of me. all 18 years. friends i had known. things i had done, dreams i had, girls i had loved, and it was all surrounded by this awe of the future. it was scary, and beautiful

i love these guys and their music, but every time i listen to their music something bad happens in my life. Listened to them for the first time and then my dog died shortly after. Lost my girlfriend after listening to them and now lost another girlfriend that i have had for a year and a half and also lost a friend who was over in afghanistan. So sadly i am afraid to listen.

Lived on myself since i was 17, worked full-time to pay for my own education, and still have to work my ass of after school to pay my rent.
