  • the reason everyone says this looks so hard is because they have no idea how to do it (not like I do). We stay to VFX and that's about it.

  • Don't try this if you're new...you have to find it a passion for Blender to do is, I've done it without any tutorials...However, I lost my passion, now I love music, piano etc...sorry, no tutorial!

    c++ is functional, but it is not good for game logic operations (in my opinion, python is better)

  • @oonmm wow, have you run out of arguments? moreover, c++ is not an objective language. For Game Logic, an objective language like Python or even C-Objective are way better.

    I have a lot of experience with both C-Objective, C++ and Python and just HAVE to recommend Python.

    C++ offers the possibility to do logic, but the problem is to address it quickly to classes.

  • for the doors u can just use rigid body joints. but i dont get the destruction stuff.

  • I placed near doors' handle a object I called "dummy", this dummy detects collision and count an property (how many times the each part of car crashed), and the shape of each part of car is relative to this property...

    Just add controlls, sensors and actions in your logic bar. Put the sensors to "Collision" and your actions to "Change Model" or something like that. Change the model to the broken one,

  • yeah, basically, you're right, but I usually secure my systems with properties, so each time when you collide to either of little collide cubes (I'll cal it dummies), the property of specific dummy increase/raise by one (usually, the property is integer)

    You've got logical thinking, just put it on the paper ( I mean, do it in BGE :D:D )!

  • well what i use is CamStudio its really easy to use and it has OK screen recording and sound!

  • Hypercam2 search through the settings a bit and youll figure it out

  • Me too, except make the wall 20ft tall and at a 10 degree angle and then place a field of cars on fire behind it. Oh, and behind the wall and cars put a guy with a rocket launcher riding an elephant with gold plated tusks.

  • Yes, cars have two lights in front, but Blender game is swapping because lot of lights on the scene, making shadows, etc...

  • Yes, Blender is for modeling, but it has built-in game engine in which you can make games...

    There is bug, the doors are waving veeery fast, this bug is removed in newest version of my game...

  • One question, how did you limit the rotation constraint on the doors? so they don't rotate the whole way around and inside the car.

  • At first, it's caused by limits of constraints, by clicking on AngMinZ (for Z-axis) and setting of (sinus, cosinus? I don't know) angle...

    Second: you may limit rotating by adding invisible cube with some MASS with constraint to you doors, cube will limit rotation doors.

    And that the car is slowly - I turned on "Enable all frames" setting to make fluent video, without swapping...but you might be right, these cars ain't too fast :D
