  • I lover you ! I miss you.

  • When i was 12 years old i first heard the voice of John Denver. He told me that english for am german boy ist´nt hard to learn. It is sparkling as champagne and the words come together to make sence about the meaning of live. Now i am 47 but Johns Lyrics and music means the same to me. I love it.

  • :''''(

  • I love this song, the voice, the sheer talent. Rest in peace John, you'll always be remembered. By the way, I don't know how, but this song reminds me of Winston and Julia's love for each other.

  • I was born from the same lump of clay as John Denver. He's alway soothing, always down to earth and always encouraging, rip.

  • what an artist john was.country music has never been the same since his departure.sadly missed

  • One of my favorite John Denver songs. So beautiful. Many of songs reflect what I feel about our natural treasures also.

  • not to good looking for a better video

  • God Bless him!

  • I love him! such a sweet, sincere, innocent. I love him. beautiful..

  • Beautiful... RIP John D.

  • I remember living in Central Texas in the late 80's. They still played this song all the time on the country stations. Thanks for the memories!!

  • I love this song! Everytime I hear it I have flash backs of playing the Dreamland Express album on 8-track and dancing with my grandfather. <3 23 years and still miss him! <3

  • On 8 Track? This song came out in 1985 long after 8 tracks had disappeared.

  • @Amadeus1066 you are right but time life or some other mail order company sent them just about monthly and it was around 1985. haha a year later but if you see... my profile pic is of the 8track.

  • Damn sure is hard to believe that this was a #9 COUNTRY hit - it should have hit the pop charts instead!

  • Agreed!

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan It doesn't have any country feeling. Anyway it is his last hit song.

  • @cingny I agree - it should have been a pop hit instead, but that's the way country radio was leaning at the time though. His last actual hit song was a song called "Country Girl In Paris", which hit #96 in 1988, and was from his "Higher Ground" release. His last hit for RCA Records (before they dropped him) was "Along For The Ride ('56 T-Bird)", from his "One World" release. "Dreamland Express" was his last top 10 hit in any genre though.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Well It's very hard to say No. 96 song is a hit song. Since the song was a top ten song I said it was his last hit song. There was a # 12 country hit single "So It Goes" with Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1989. The Fact that Dreamland Express reached no. 9 on the country chart was amazing since John Denver was not actually country singer although he had 7 top ten country singles.

  • Take Me Home Country Road which had a lot of country feeling reached no. 50 on the country single chart while no. 2 on the pop single chart: since he was not in Nashville, country music industry didn't consider him as a country artist. In 1975 when John was named to CMA Entertainer of the Year, the reigning titleholder Charlie Rich opened the envelope and set fire to the card in disgust. Despite earning the most votes, Denver wasn't considered a true country artist by many Nashville insiders.

  • @cingny1 I remember that clip, as Charlie Rich was drunk when he was presenting that award, and he said the winner was his 'good friend' John Denver, and you could tell he was pissed! I also remember Olivia Newton-John getting a lot of bad press at that time, as her music leaned towards country even though she was basically a pop artist, but in 1998 when she recorded "I Honestly Love You" for the country market, it barely made a blip on the country charts at the time!

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan After Olivia received CMA Awards 7 CMA memebrs left CMA. One of the reasons why Nashville insiders didn't like her was that she was Australian. Anyway, she often mentioned that she loved country music. While many of Nashville insiders didn't like John and Olivia, Kenny Rogers who was not in Nashville was accepted by Nashville insiders although he largely leaned towards pop music. Maybe because he is from Texas?

  • @cingny1 That, and a lot of Kenny's early music was more country oriented like "Lucille", and "The Gambler." Being from Texas probably didn't hurt him any either, and after his huge pop success with "Islands In The Stream", his songs started falling off with the pop audience after "This Woman" was a hit for him - I think one of Kenny's last pop hits was "Morning Desire", which didn't get out of the 90's on the pop chart for him about the same time this song came out.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Well, Kenny Rogers' early years are not country oriented: Kenny Rogers & The First Edition was pop and rock oriented. what I mentioned about kenny was a story heard from people in the country music industry. Nashville insiders are open-minded to Southerners^^ Austrailans and Coloradans are not very welcomed by them unless they reside in Nashville.

  • @cingny1 I agree - I was just referring to his solo career - not his pop career with The First Edition.
