  • Thank you so much for posting it! I love Beverlee. She was the very best!!!

  • I know this sounds crazy but how good was Beverlee McKinsey ??!! I'm just curious I never watched anything with her in it so what makes her so good??? Again I'm not trying to be a smart ass I just wanna know so I can find out what Im missing!!!!

  • When these stories first aired I didn't read any soap magazines so I had no idea she was going and would never be back. I thought she'd return, and I kept waiting, and waiting, and Sherry Stringfield left, and Mo was killed, and Harley left, and there were very few people I still enjoyed. So then when Alex finally came back I couldn't believe it wasn't Beverlee. I eventually accepted Marj but not really as Alex - it was a different character. I'm relieved Bev never had to play that character.

  • I never did take to marj dusay as alex. I liked her well enough but there are some characters you cant replace. alex being one of them, just like you could never have another actress play Reva other than kim zimmer and only beth elhers could be Harley.

  • Nick straight checked alan-michael.

  • Beverlee Mckinsey worked those scenes...

  • if memory serves correctly there was another scene with nick where alex said, "even a rose grows in the dirt." and that was her final scene with him.

  • Alexandra the BEST reason to have watched GL in it's best days!!!

  • There is more out there somewhere too to her last day. I remember a scene with her going to Vanessa's house, and giving Vanessa all sorts of keys, authorizations and whatnot that Vanessa would need to run Spaulding while Alexandra wasn't around. If that wasn't the very last day, it was the next to last.

  • you are right...those were her last scenes

  • McKensey said later in an interview that she didn't warn anyone about her exit -but especially not Vince Irizarry- because the mutual fondness between the actors would have gotten in the way of the exasperation Nick was feeling toward Alex at that point in the story. That should certainly clue us that Irizarry loved her as much as we viewers who miss her so much. Also perfect is the final (and appropriate) scene with Roger, his hand threateningly grasping Alex's throat.

  • is that last scene with Roger on you tube. I never got to see it?

  • @liamhen I don't know but it was in mid August '92. He storms in insisting she drop the charges against Jenna Bradshaw and she taunts him about Roger's disapproving father and Hart learning the truth about Roger stealing Hart's farm. This trips the wire and, warningly, Roger grasps Alexandra by the throat and promises her she will regret talking to him like that. It was EXACTLY appropriate a farewell for those two, and I hope somebody has it to put up.

  • This is wonderful to watch. And yes, I am not over it either.

Our Beverlee lives on on Youtube!

  • This is so good.....thanks for posting this. The other 2 actresses who played Alexandra never compared to Beverlee. Also, this time period of GL is wonderful. I used to watch GL after school and never wanted to miss an episode!

  • I'm glad you are enjoying the uploads! I used to race home from school to catch GL. She was just the absolute best!

  • Yes!

Alex went to see Vanessa to leave town to "find some answers".

Her last words to Vanessa after telling Vanessa she is running Spaulding were: "Do a good job baby."

Then the last shot of our Beverlee was looking through the window. Sniff.

  • I am still not over it :(

  • I sure wish I had that scene. I still can't believe she managed to make that her last scene without anyone knowing. Totally my favorite behind the scenes soap story LOL

  • I have been searching YouTube for years for this clip!!!! THANK YOU!!

  • Thanks for the info liamhen! I don't remember that scene at all so I'm guessing I don't have it. You should give youtube a try. If I can do it anyone can :-)

  • Oh wow I never knew there was more to her final day. I don't think I have it but as I go through my tapes I will keep a look out. Thanks for the info!

  • Oh yes..I actually have it somewhere..but I am you tube challenged. Alexandra showed up at Nick's place, admitted to what happened and they had some really intense moments but left in peace. Then she said she was leaving town, went to Vanessa and then we never saw Bev again on GL. Argh

  • Thanks so much for posting. I missed so much of these that summer. Who knew Beverlee would be leaving Actually her last scene was with Vanessa, telling her she was leaving (afer one last scene with Nick) and letting her know she was in charge of Spaulding. Vanessa left after Nick showed up to have her go find Fletcher after a fight, Alexandra went up to the window looked out at them leaving that that was it.

  • I thought this was the last part of the scene. I remember she went to see Vanessa before leaving on a vacation after the Roger fiasco. That's the one where Fletcher brings her to the airport. Could that be it? I have nothing else on this tape. Sorry!

  • Do you have the last part of this clip where Alex goes to tell Vanessa she is leaving town?

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I loved Alexandra! She was my all time favorite! Bev was fantastic and I loved how Marj Dusay re-created this great role!
