hey guys i noticed you can change the cams of your iron cobras and now id like to change from rolling to power glide, i found rolling glide cams to buy on the internet, but no power glide cams... does anybody know why or where i could find such ? thy
@BeatDrumSticks i could do that but you can also just download the blueprint of the doublepedal from tamas website the construction is explaned there and i was able to recognize how to deconstruct it and build it up again. important is that you do it on newspaper or an underground that doesnt get dirty ´cause there are LOTS of oil in there... if you still need a video ill upload one soon
@BeatDrumSticks okay i could do that but it will take a while because my camera is gone atm ... but i was actually able to do it without a video or something...
@kynancecove STICK 2DRUMS can you help me help AMERICAN DRUMMERS ? as i HAD A MASSIVE brain hem&STROKE in 2006 which left me ONLY able to play with just ONE HAND& ONE FOOT as STROKE is uber common in the US can you share my link with others and ask them to do the same with their drummer friends because all I hope NO others experience my hell its in 2 parts and part1:
very comprehensive and it helps to cut through the"JARGON" so the difference is down to CAM characteristics . I use a POWERGLIDE CAM on my very reasonably priced TAMA HP200 really apart from mine has one chain and the IRON COBRA has 2 chains is there a major difference to my pedal as they BOTH us the same CAM CONFIG ?
@kynancecove There is a differnce in feel as the spring mechanism and foot board points are smoother. Although they are both powerglide cam, teh pedals do feel different and you'll find the dual chained IC to be much smoother.
@sticktodrums IC?something CHAIN? my worry is in reality How much better is it than the Hp I am concerned that the DUAL CHAIN will add too much inertial DRAG to apply certain note PLACEMENTS due to its greater mass fromthe CHAINS OVER CAM as when I tried it years ago it was one thing i noted it had a greater Mass certainly with 16ths in a line all that STOP/ START STOP START ect if I am Wrong then I AM

The cams may be different but what you are really contrasting is the "chain" between the footboard and the Cam. on the flexi glide, it is an elastic band while the power glide is a chain.
if i was to change th cams on my pedal from the rolling glide to the power glide will that change the performance of the pedal especially with the cobra coil? i've been thinking that the cobra coil could be one of the reasons why i can't play fast beats or i can but i get tired easily.
is the coil closer to your heel? that can make it a lot harder to go fast. you could just remove it and see, but if you don't want to do that you could just raise the angle of the foot board and push the cobra coil to the front. that's what i do.
I'm looking for an iron cobra pedal, but I'm not decided about the rolling or the power glide...I'm interested in one that have the best qualities to play extreme metal.
i tell you to try both pedals, because drummers go fast with the power glide like dave lombardo and other drummers go fast with the rolling like raymond herrera(really good drummer).for me the best choice is playing with a pearl eliminator with iron cobra beaters
no its not the same, the cam has a kinda sharp triangle shape, the pearl eliminator with changeable cams has one the same kinda shape, possibly the red one
I've got the Power Glide and like it, but wondering if I might prefer the Roller Glide. If the cams aren't too expensive it might be cool to have both cams to experiment. Thanks!
Have you had a chance to try the Cobra Coil feature and did you like it? Do you have a preference between the Roller Glide and Power Glide when using it with V-Drums mesh heads?
I do have the new rolling glide with the cobra coil. Personally I think the coil concept is just a gimmick but the pedal still feels smooth. I have been using the Power glide pedals on my V-drums for several years.
Thanks again for the info. I read a few people preferring the Rolling Glide with mesh heads. My main concern was tearing up the mesh heads quicker, but I guess as long as I use the rubber beater it won't matter much. Thanks!
Normally for such a leverage change, you would say "Increases speed and DECREASES power".

@MaggotJoko Is there any way you could put a video up showing on how you take the cams out? It would be greatly appreciated. (:

@MaggotJoko I would love a video just so I don't end up messing up anything. I don't want to go end up buying another one. That would really suck.

It is FAR steeper and has a much sharper angle.

@aztasarg I have a Flexiglide pedal as well and I like it but I prefer the powerglide pedal.

which iron cabras have the cobra coil?
2ra0bid9 1 year ago
@2ra0bid9 The Rolling Glides were the original ones with teh Cobra Coil but I think now you can get them all with it.

so which one has more speed the power glide or the rolling glide?
gundamfan100 2 years ago
the power glides, some credit given to the cams because of that.
billy02222 2 years ago
Ive played them both, I would say the power glide, but they both have a pretty fast ease to them. It all comes down to preference in the end.
Dragon5n 1 year ago
@Dragon5n Exactly.
sticktodrums 1 year ago
@gundamfan100 The Powerglides are supposed to be faster by cam design, but of course, practice will make you faster than a pedal.

can you please do one between power glide and flexi glide? PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!

@paice95 I have both so I will try and make one. I just need to find teh time.

whats good about the eliminator is you get 4 cams in one that can be interchanged
and the rolling glide in britainb is 50 quid more expensive
thats why i got elims

def. power glide if you're going for very fast bass drumming, the power glide's beater speeds up when it gets closer to the bass.

i'm thinking of buying one, but i'm afraid i won't be able to play as well with it as i would if i had the other one.
do you think my best option would be to go to a shop and try them out or something?
thanks. cool video.

Can the cams be purchased separately? How much are they and are they easy to change? Thanks!

I believe you can purchase them seperately if you special order them. Takes about 10 minutes to take apart and put back together,,,
