Most adverts are no more than 30 seconds and there is no reason why yours can't be too. You could easily loose over a minute of this and still keep your idea.
You've got to think deductively with the editing. Go back to the edit and keep only 2 seconds of each shot. Pick the best 2 seconds of each shot and then see how much more like a professional advert it looks.
Have a good look at other ads on TV - you'll see what I'm talking about.

Yeah i know.. most adverts have a roughly 10 second version, a roughly 30 second version and the full version which is usually around 1.30!
I did actually make the shorter versions as well but i prefer the full one!
