There is absolutely no doubt about that. The "seminal" LA band of the same name were at best mediocre. (the Australian) X were fucking excellent and TRULY seminal. RIP Ian Rilen
Not these tossers?! Mate Sydney X were playing from 77 with Rilen predating that rock performance with Rose Tattoo who he helped form. Not to detract from LA X, but man a bit of respect is due for Sydney X.
You'd be lookin' a damn long time to find anyone with half Ian's charisma. Steve was his own guy and just as much a part of X. I loved 'em all. They gave me some of the best times of my life. I'll always remember Ian for his permanent grin and the big hole he'd dug in that old Fender with his plectrum.

No the LA band are the tossers and the word seminal is overused to talk about average bands. X were and will always be incredible.
