  • GO ANALOG!!!!

  • Scotland forever!

  • lovely guitar also, the two sound fantastic

  • really great playing graemey! Love your vids bro-do you have any old tube echo units?

  • Yeah, I have an old valve Copicat. Check my other videos. G

  • Excellent demo. Love your vids. Please keep them coming.

I used to have a Boss distortion pedal that was housed in the same green metal case as the classic Boss CE1. It fell apart years ago and i no longer have the parts, but wondered if you know anything about that model.

  • Only that those old green pedals were the forefathers of the modern Boss pedals. I have a phaser from that era as well as a CE1. Check the Discofreq pedal site for more info. G

  • ah man, so nice. That Gretsch sounds great. Somebody really took care of that tape unit it looks fantastic and sounds great. Thanks so much for sharing, Graeme, Your vids are always worth a look. Is the Gretsch a recent model or vintage? I'm interested in whether those pickups are vintage or recent stock or maybe TV Jones? They sound really great. cheers buddy.

  • Thanks man! The Gretsch is about 7 or 8 years old. It is a Black Falcon with the standard Filtertron pickups. G

  • I have one of these but the first nob that controls the effect volume isnt working and Im only getting the delay sound. Can get round this by using a send and return off the amp which works brilliantly, but means I cant use it with my old marshalls. If anyone knows anything about how to repair this I would be interested to hear. Or if anyone wants to me me an offer? cheers

  • I prefer the valve copicats. Great video, lovely guitar.

  • Thank you for taking the time to share these woderfull vintage pedals!

  • hi Stompy mc G -ester,

love Wem Video, great playing. R'n'Roll wow!!

    you people should check out,

his valve copicat video from way back on you-tube video along with all the others

thanks for all your help and the knowledge that you share mate

    Baz

  • Please keep up the good work. Your gear demos really are the best on YouTube. Most of the other hosts are hammy knob ends, prattling on endlessly without anything informative to say . On top of that, they're all play in that super-fast & soulless, Steve Vai bullshit-fashion. Either that or they're dullard hacks.

You, my man, speak with purpose and knowledge; play with a personal style and palpable love for the instruments sound; and review some pretty cool gear. Well done, Graeme.

  • Hey thanks very much for that! Im glad you enjoyed the video. G

  • Hey g, what amp were you using? Was it the Vox Pathfinder you use a lot on these vids?

  • I used a Marshall DSL 100 watt head and 2 x 12 cab for this one. G

  • Interesting, when compared to a Echoplex the loop of the tape is very short. How often does one need to replace the tape?

  • They last 20 hours continuous use. A pack of 10 tapes will keep you going a long time. G

  • @blondegraemey cool, and thanks for the reply. Please keep the videos coming. I really enjoy your channel.

  • Quick Q Graeme... roughly how many hours of continuous use would yo get from a single tape??

  • Tape lasts about 20 hours continuous. You can still get the tapes on ebay. G

  • @blondegraemey Ah cool. 20 hours is not too bad. Yeah I see those tapes pop up all the time. Was considering a tape echo for studio use.

  • Man that sounds so sweet. Just warm, smooth, natural repeats. I have always preferred the sounds of analogue and tape delays over digital. I love how each repeat gets slightly more lo-fi and low quality if you will. I love the subtle modulation too and the epic pad sounds you get at longer delays settings with lots of repeats.

    Great vid Graeme.

  • WOW!! That thing is cool!!!!

  • I recently got myself a vintage WEM ER15 tube head =) and I love it! and I would love to get my hands on one of these Copicat's it really nails that Shadows delay or rockabilly slapback delay :)

    Cheers

    Rob

  • I hate fixed-head tape delays—I find them too limiting.

  • Beautiful sounding guitar

  • This definitely sounds great. Not sure what kind of maintenance is involved in keeping it running well, but i want one!

  • what guitar is that? wood binding on the body?

  • It's a Gretsch Black Falcon with gold sparkle binding. G

  • man! do you have an estimate on how many pedals you have? People freak out when I tell them I have four, and you have atleast 40..

  • @DuskyRope 100 of em minimum lol

    no! seriously :D

  • damn cool find

  • 1 comment! and maybe first view?
