  • Their suits match their hair :P

  • wow dave looks much older when he's in HD

  • why does he always go bamp bump baaa along with the music.. so annoying..

  • For you who wonder, Colbert was always in character in public appearances until recently; There's an interview with him on a news show and then speaking at Northwestern Commencement where he isn't. But after the Bush years there's just not the neurotic fodder anymore. He's not as stringent. He may be doing other characters sometimes?

  • i wonder how hard it is for him to stay in character

  • one question: Is he in character? Or is he being himself?

  • @EagleWithRedWings Character.

  • Herman Cain 2012

  • @lomeloft fuck your college asshole!!!

  • Dave was dying =] haha!! This is awesome! Thanks!

  • I think Stephen Colbert is much funnier then Jon Stewart. I crack up ever episode of The Colbert Report, but only laugh every few Daily Shows. Stephen doesn't need correspondents, he's funny by himself. Stewart may have started many famous comedians we know today, but Stephen is far better

  • @CanYouHackett97 that's not fair now :p..they have 2 completely different shows. Stephen Colbert plays a character and Stewart does not. I see where you are coming from though.

  • stewart made colbert

  • I like how Mr. Colbert is always so clean-cut. It enhances the effect of his psychosis.

  • @sayidfas713 are you serious? you do realize its a character

  • what does he said on 8:12?

  • stewart/colbert 2012

  • COLBERT FOR PRESIDENT 2012.

  • "Bup bup, bup bup" at 0:39 just awkward. Haha but Stephen Colbert is the best. -3

  • what the hell is that noise at 8:32???

  • @danie142009 He had an illness as a kid and is now deaf in his right ear.

  • Wow. What's up with Dave's hair?! haha =) Gotta love me some Colbert! He's so sweet! He seems like a total jerk on The Colbert Report, but he's such a down to earth guy. Love you Colbert! Keep on keeping on! =)

  • @wolfgirl3440 hes in character on the colbert report hes not a jerk lol

  • @bluesman332 haha Ok he can be a jerk. =D I absolutely love his show! It's such a contradiction though when you watch the show and then you see him on a show like this. He's so different. I want to meet him one day sooooooo badly! =)

  • george lopez disliked

  • 0:00

  • Colbert is sheer comic genius!

  • dave needs a haircut... flippin' hippie

  • @samk997 I think you need to learn the word irony, then re-watch this interview. This was a fantastic interview.

  • What the fuck is going on with Letterman's hair? He's really embracing the angry grandpa look.

  • @surfingsuicune At the beginning he appears to be fighting with it and says "I don't know what to do with it"!

  • what word did they cut out?

  • @ripcitiboi "Apeshit" I think.

  • @ThePeterson21 why?

  • Thanks for putting the date in the description.

  • Locked eh? I will have to make sure to piss on one of the locks when I'm there.

  • greetings from gamefaqs

  • God damn I hate Letterman. God damn I love Colbert.

  • I like how he is half in character.

That interview should have been at least doubled in length.

  • I like how he is half in character.

  • wadup geocities

  • He nailed it

  • @denise81 Corporations are not all held in America. By supporting Citizens United you are allowing foreign money to swing the outcome of US elections. This is a national security concern. Foreign entities have never been able to vote in the US or influence our political process, now they can quite easily.

  • @TBones2121

Every totalitarian movement gets chauvinistic when they run out of arguments. It's only natural for American Statists to start using fear of foreigners to silence the opposition and deny people their rights, as well.

And by the way, the First Amendment does also protect the free speech rights of foreigners. So you don't get to shut them up either.

  • @deinse81 Foreign governments were never allowed to contribute to our political offices. Now they can through this loophole, end of story. The rest of your post is just inflammatory hyperbole.

The bill of rights is an American document, of course it doesn't apply on other countries' soil. Now you are just being obtuse. We aren't talking about tourists here.

I'll bet you had issues with the NYC mosque on one hand but are perfectly fine with foreign campaign money tainting our election system.

  • @deinse81

Chauvinistic? Seriously? You're acting as if we're propping up foreigners as straw men in order to deflect from some desire of ours to silence an opposing viewpoint. This discussion has nothing to do with whether or not one political side has the right to express themselves. This is about corporations having another way to influence our political process, as if the massive amount of money in lobbying wasn't bad enough.

  • @oNealProductions Right. You want corporations and foreigners (with special emphasis on foreigners who own corporations) to not have the same freedom of speech other legal persons have, because you hate them. You can't have that here, the First Amendment of the US Constitution forbids it. We already covered all this.

  • @deinse81

    ???

Why are you calling people who aren't citizens or legal residents of the United States "legal persons"?

Why would the United States have sovereignty over people who aren't citizens/legal residents? Just as we can't forbid 19 year old kids in Germany

to stop drinking, they don't have the the rights given by the Constitution. This is what makes becoming a US citizen so special.

I don't hate people from other countries, nor do I hate corporations.

  • @oNealProductions US laws don't apply to kids in Germany because they are in Germany. But if one of them traveled to NY, US laws would apply to him. He would for instance be afforded freedoms of speech which he is denied back home.

American laws apply to every legal person (check wikipedia for what that means exactly) on American soil. Even foreigners and foreign corporations doing business here. Citizenship has nothing to do with it, rights are intrinsic and inalienable.

  • @deinse81

You're assuming that these foreign corporations are on US soil... Why? They don't need to be here to fund campaigns.

  • @oNealProductions Just read the First Amendment. You'll figure out why that's irrelevant then.

  • @deinse81

"American laws apply to every legal person (check wikipedia for what that means exactly) on American soil"

You said this. You brought it up. Why is what I said irrelevant?

  • @deinse81 you contradict yourself- you speak of rights for people, and then shift them, with no supporting logic, to corporations.

A friendly reminder: corporations are NOT people. I don't understand why I have to explain this to someone. Holy ideologue batman! :)

  • What a classy guy, he really does mean the best in his actions.

  • I wish I was able to March to Keep Fear Alive.

  • @sensasianal Find a satellite rally nearby, or start your own.

  • He is so awesome I love him! He is always smiling and happy too, I don't know if he really is that happy but it sure seems like it. I love John Stewart too but he always has this serious look on his face most of the time.

  • this man is genius!

  • "You truly are delusional!"

"YES!" * THUD* swoons * falls on the floor!!!!!

  • Just the loveliest, sweetest guy on the planet! Can't wait to be at the march on October 30th, keeping the fear for the UK!!

  • Just the loveliest guy on the planet!!! :-)

  • @goodcoffie Um, Stephen Colbert was there to prove that illegal immigrants are not "taking Americans' jobs away." There were only like 7 Americans who actually showed up for work.

Maybe you should watch his show. I'm not surprised at all that many in Congress are to stupid to get it. But that's really not his fault or problem.

He's so sweet, always seems to be so full of energy :) Bless him and Jon Stewart.

  • @goodcoffie Many people watched a congressional hearing for the 1st time to see Colbert, he not only raised the plight of farm workers, he also introduced an apathetic viewer to a crucial aspect of democracy.

The problem is not simple, poor mexican farmers are crossing the border because US farm subsidies have destroyed their livelihoods in Mexico, Immigration will fall if the US stops farm subsidies, BUT expect to pay a lot more for your meals.

  • @xdir If someone watched a Congressional hearing for the first time to see comedy, I'd rather that person had never become a participant in our "democracy". (we're not a democracy, by the way, we're a Constitutional Republic which happens to select its limited government through elections)

  • @deinse81 oh, I thought American civilians cast a private vote to elect it's leaders, but I guess you are not a democracy so I am not really sure what you are.

  • @deinse81 we can be whatever you want us to be on some documents, but in practice, we are a plutocracy. Have you seen the funding bonanza this mid-term has become after the supreme court gave our "republic" to the people called corporations?

    Have a nice evening.

  • @tristramshandy3 The Supreme Court upheld the First Amendment of the Constitution. I know, you hate corporations and businessmen, and you do not want them to have the right to express their view the way unions or private individuals can, but you don't get to deny them that right. Tough.

  • @deinse81 where in the first amendment does it mention corporations? Oh yeah, IT DOESN'T. I think your view is radical, extreme, and totally UNAMERICAN- just like the court, who overturned 100 years of established precedent.

And we see your extremist view destroying the republic AS WE SPEAK HERE. The business interests are funneling MILLIONS of dollars into our elections now.

They are outspending "unions" seven to one.

Your comparison of the two is disingenuous and a partisan lie.

  • @tristramshandy3 The First Amendment states that no law may abridge freedom of speech. It doesn't list who is and who isn't to be silenced, it states that no one may be silenced.

And yes, that is quite radical, in fact no other country has ever had such a provision in their Constitution, except the US. So you're welcome to move to any of the 200 "moderate" countries which ban speech at will. But you don't get to silence dissent here. Not even if you really really hate the opposition.

  • @deinse81 What disturbs me though, is that the end result of the Citizens United decision is not truly about "speech" but that foreign corporations can spend an unlimited amount of money, millions and millions of dollars, to influence elections within the US and for the most part, we aren't even allowed to know who they are. Campaign finance was effed enough to begin with.

  • I believe he was referring to those Congressional Representatives who were angry and upset about him testifying.. I know one tried to make him leave without speaking. He wasn't the only sub-committee member who objected. Also, a lot of press coverage, especially on Fox of course, was extremely negative. Stephen's "Ape S*#t comment almost certainly referred to the negative reception he got in Congress and the negative press coverage. Where were their objections when Elmo testifed?

  • @goodcoffie that's too bad about her nephew, may he rest in peace. however, the fact that he was murdered by an illegal immigrant means exactly nothing. you can't generalize about an entire group of people from the actions of one, that's called stereotyping. it's offensive, and completely ungrounded in fact. by the way, the fact that she's black has no relevance in this instance either.

  • He's so sweet
