Ian McShane does a spot on imitation on the lame Norwegianish-English accent. Its funny, the higher education they have, the bader English we/they have.I get ranted upon myself for sounding like an American, but rather that that sounding like our politicians. They sound horrible, even to this very day LOL.
@bartolemeo ...holy shit...I can't believe I didn't put them two together!..I can picture the ad!.."Will switching to Geico save you 15% or more on car insuranse.....is getting kicked, in the head repeatedley...with an iron boot ever a good idea?"
Sean Connery you are an inspiration to me. My parents love you, I love haha my family loves you. We look at your work as perfect. I look at you as a hero to my future and a wise mentor. Your voice spread through the centuries. A man I wished to be when I was younger. You are the man I look up in honor and wisdom. I salute you Sir Sean Connery. ;) :) Thank you Tito
Sean Connery is definitely crying towards the end of this video. So sweet, love hearing stories of he and Ian causing trouble with tanks back in the day.
jesus ian mcshane is so much like my old man it kills me, his voice, joking style. pops popped his clogs a couple of years ago, but every time i get nostalgic i just whack up an ian mcshane interview and there he is, spitting image in every way.
Yes, I remember Lovejoy. I would think he'd be known for his stage career over in the UK nowadays. He is an amazing stage actor, and has done some popular plays over there, and here in the US on Broadway.
I put the entire series on my iPhone and watched it all in one weekend while at work (I work at a hospital and have lots of downtime on weekends).. The last couple episodes were brilliant for McShane.. his character was great
Most people know McShane from Deadwood, which was one of the highlights of his career. But any McShane fan should also check out the NBC show Kings. It was unfortunately canceled after one season, and the show itself was not as strong as Deadwood, but McShane ruled the cast. He gave as strong of a performance as he did in Deadwood (if not stronger). His character in Kings showed so many more dimensions than Al Swearengen. It's a pity the show was canceled.
I know man I was so pissed that they cancelled Kings. NBC failure was that they did not promote it right shame also cause the writing and acting were amazing.
@piratebri I agree. It is an absolute shame that first the masterpiece of a show Deadwood is canned before it can really spread its wings, and Kings which was shaping up to be a truly incredible show was cast to the same fate. Kings should of been on HBO or Showtime, not NBC.
Yea, gotta give NBC kudos for having the courage to put a show like Kings on their schedule. Problem is, it was a specialty show, and specialty shows don't last long on primetime cable channels. It would have been a lot better on HBO or Showtime. Probably would have gone 2-3 more seasons.
I have not seen too many of Shane's work for the exception of Deadwood. Even just seeing him in one production, I consider him as one of the most talented performers I have ever seen.....
Ian Mcshane has a great stage presence. Check him out in Sexy Beast with Ray Winstone. Of course Ben Kingsley is great, but Ian's character with those dead shark eyes and are amazing when staring down Ray Winstone's character.
hahaha his story about the rich norwegian guy was awesome. '' we also have two tanks in the country, they were caught napping in '42, they won't be caught napping again eh?!'' Norway rules
this great actor played Disraeli years ago and is always fantastic.
