@merkl0osBenMezelf im not saying im a dr or anything but my dr said that at 17 degrees they could put a brace but it wouldnt make it go away you would still have scoliosis it just wouldnt let it progress any more
it was good, don't be afraid of the surgery, be afraid of the recovery, it heals your scoliosis but you'll never feel the same in your own body again. good luck.
@Niikziitah197 i know its prob to late because you have prob already had the op. well i got mine and i had 2 ops in 2 weeks and i was so so so scared i am so glad i had it i feel exactly the same i don't feel it at all. i had a 90 deg and a 50 deg and know its alot better. i remember saying after my 1st op that i don't know what the big fuss is about it wasn't that bad. hope all is well

Hey, i have 2 scoliosis curves, one is 45 the other 70. My ribs a rotating, and crushing my lungs making it hard for me to breath. Like if i run a tiny bit i start huffing and puffing and im realy thin so my gym teacher was like " wow ur thin but your is super bad shape, but then i told her and she was like "im soo sorry. Ok, sorry im rambling. Im gonna have surgury on the 19th. :). im scared but happy. Any advice u have would be great.
@molera2 well don't be scared about the surgery, the recoveries rough but if your not into gymnastics or cheer leading your gonna turn out fine with nothing to worry about, best of luck :)

I had surgery at two and I have severe scoliosis at 100 degrees now, despite having a rod. But yeah. I hope you are better (: my scoliosis is congenital so it will never be fixed..

@TwilightGirl647 no, the curve isnt even serious until it hits 20 - 25 then drs will consider bracing and monitoring, then if you hit 40 - 50 you need surgery, if its 70 or above you really need surgery, mine was 72 degrees, and past 70 it can cause lung and heart damage.
I have scoliosis around 30 degrees. I took 5 years of gymnastics but i had to quit when i got it. I dont want to get surgery so I do excercizes every day like sit ups and weights. not to many but it helps to build muscles in my back and straighten my spine. when i work on it i get back into gymnastics and it helps a little bit too like the stretches. so hopefully i wont have to get surgery cuz it lookes and sounds kinda scary. well, i hope your doing better now. and wonderful video :)

Sorry i havent replied to you in so long,iv'e been really busy concentrating on my recovery and just started school this week which is really tiring!Im 6 weeks post op now,while in hospital part of my left lung got full of fluid and part of it collapsed,i developed pneumonia and needed a blood transfusion,not nice but im over it now!My curves are both 10degrees now and i have virtually no back or rib pain which is a miracle.I also notice improvements in flexibility daily and im fused to L3!Tks x

u won't stop growing because they will only put it where the curve is, like my curve was my whoel back but mostly upper so they only put it on the top of my spine so like my lower back of like 4 inches is still there and ive grown just from that and its okay, i mean i can't do gymnastics anymore but u Will grow and i was so upset about it and ur the first perosn on these rediculous comments that had something Real to say about it. i was Really flexible... and it was really ghard for me cus i was working on my backhandspring for a year and a half and i got it a monht b4 surgery and i started getting level 7 good 2 weeks b4 surgery. and i did my last hard day of gymnastics the day b4 my surgery

i had scoliosis surgery on jan 20 and it wasn't that bad. when i was in the intensinve care, i didn't feel much. just a bit sore. when i was fully awake they gave me this button that i could press if i felt sore. i was able to go home after 5 days.

um i had 2 surgeries but if you getting the rod and the screws, you want me to be completly honest. well it hurt like an aching bitch. you shouldn't be scared about the surgery, that isn't it, i was but i was wrong. u get dressed in the hospital gown and then they lay you on the table and in 6 breaths you feel brain dead. when u wake up everything is gonna hurt Bad. But you will probably only remember 3 of the 6 or 7 days your in the hospital. thats how much drugs your on.
i have a s shaped spine and i have 2 rods in my back and my rods broke on boxing day all i did is stod up from the table the other time my rods broke i stod up from the floor my mum called for the ambulance and they said they wouldnt take me in the ambulane because it was old so they called for a air ambulance they where busy they called for the police helli they couldnt take off fainal they got a coastgard heli that landed in my school field my hospital is in southhamtom and i live in swanage

i think i have alot of luck theve found out i have scoliose at a degree of 17,5
but they cannot do fix it with fysio or brace probreatly i need surgery to

On the Facebook Group : TREATING SCOLIOSIS WITH NON-SURGICAL METHODS
there are stories of what can happen years later after the op.
For non-op methods, by far and away the best is the Theraflex machine we have in the UK.
I got rid of my Scoliosis at 38 years old with a few sessions of this.
Get your doctor to give you a few sessions on Theraflex, if he won't - get a new doctor who will.

i can't do anything like ride a bike or go swimming or doing sport.
and i am not aloud to sit up with out my brace on and i have to have it on in the bath
