used this reference before breakfast today . six degrees of linda ronstadt, hoist your flag and ill beat your drum.. take my independence..with no apprehension or tension..darlin im defenseless..
For anybody, who critizes this version & says whether lowell george would be honored or not like it.You do realize that the slide guitar you hear on this version is played by lowell himself!!!
Linda was SO HOT in the old daze. She came out wearing a red bandana tied around her top (boobies) and cut offs cut so short you could.... you get the picture?
I love Linda and I love her version of I'm Willing, but she should be slapped for what she did to this song.,which IMHO is the best song Lowell George ever wrote and sang.
@bender138 Slapped? Sorry I really do not agree. I think the Little Feat version is awesome (I love Little Feat) certainly, but this is just sublime. Lowell liked it or I don't think he would have offered it to her to use on the album or played the slide guitar on the track.
@cyberlucy We are just going to have to disagree on this one. Some songs are just so perfect as originally recorded that it borders on crime to change the pacing. Roll em Easy is in MY mind clearly one of these songs. You can't improve on perfection. All you can do is destroy it.
@bender138 I understand. I just think that when you cover someone else's tune the goal is to make it your own. The best artists do that successfully. I think she did with this track. I don't think she destroyed it at all. I think she gave it a new dimension.
ooo very nice - i have this song on my channel to :)

I love how Linda takes a Little Feat song and just makes it hers. I'm sure Lowell was honored!
