  • Also, I lvoe how, in the clip at 1:43, he's doing the whole thing in his Scottish accent, but when he talks about Gill for too long, he slips back into the American accent. (2:17) It really shows the divide, how he's Scottish with his parents/siblings, but America with Gill. I love it! SO cute... XD

  • I really want to see a clip of Scott Gill when John Barrowman is speaking in his Scottish accent. I want to see his face get all werided out or something, would be adorable and hilarious XD

  • i'm on the weird part of youtube... AGAIN ! :)

  • so, in the beginning when he's on the friday night project, he said he's "bilingual". am i the only one who thought he meant bisexual? lol.

  • Captain jack: character in doctor who :L

And if anyone had seen John in dr who you would know he hugs and kisses EVERYBODY and I mean every body

  • Clearly I'm not a fan so can someone tell me why everyone shakes their fist when talking about him

  • he sounds just like me when im drunk as i always switch between accents. i was born in australia and have never been to another country but practice alot of my voice acting when im drunk and it just always comes out sounding like a mixture of scottish, american(mostly la or nyc) south east london or manchester, welsh, irish, and many central european accents. trips me out with the weird switching. many of my friends will say i sound like this

  • That older brother thing is stupid... I'm the oldest of 3 boys and I'm the only fruit of the bunch.

  • Ah, before I found out he was Scottish, I KNEW his American accent just wasn't quite fully American. Turns out it was a Scottish twist :)

  • WTF NEVER KNOW HE WAS SCITTISH ,ALWAYS THOUGHT HE WAS CANADIAN,I FEEL SO PROUD

  • He is so charming and funny, I was grinning throughout the video :D Thanks a lot for making this :)

  • Incredible how many times he repeats that he speak scottish accents when he's with his parents

  • did you know that the american southern accent comes from the Scottish accent

  • 2:24 SO HOT..

  • " Mum i'm gay because you had a miscarraige "

  • Sort of a reverse of Burn Gorman born in LA, raised in England, John born in Scotland, raised in the US!

  • I love his Captain American teeshirt ;D It just adds to his awesomeness

  • 2:25 He was talking without moving his mouth?

  • He was born in glasgow+grew up in Illinois after his family moved to US when he was 9. If he still visited the uk alot afterwards and didnt lose any scottish, then changing accent back and forth can be a subconscious thing to make him comfortable-eg around his scots family. Some ppl change accent when living abroad in a mere week without realising it! Its a weird mental habit. If barrowman didnt know YOUR accent and spoke first, he would likely speak american,as he has lived in the US the longest

  • @thedarkness667 Hey, I agree with this, I was born in England, but ma family are Scottish (Glaswegian to be precise) when I'm with more than one of them, my accent changes a wee bit into Scottish.

  • 2:23 he could say that to me every second of the day. *melt*

  • omg he must get tired of explaining his accent, lol.

  • He is just as sweet and cute in real life as he is on Dr. Who!!!

  • @pghbob555 Do us all a favour and never abbreviate Doctor Who unless referring to the botched up credits of the first two Doctors.

  • hes so much more camp scottist i love it

  • i love his parents

  • HE LIKES IT IN HIS BAWTAM

  • BARROWMAAAAAAAAN! *shakes fist*

  • 1:00 my poor left ear

  • @elunicobarca I'm somewhat concerned if your left ear is that sensitive. You should really get it checked out.

  • @JSBTheDeadLine haha no my left ear works perfectly, its just that there was only sound coming out of my right speaker

  • @elunicobarca Fair enough. :p

  • @elunicobarca same here!

  • @elunicobarca yep happened to me lol

  • BARROWMAN!!

  • 7:30...hmmmm I decided I'm omnisexual...and I have one older brother...and two other miscarried ones...

  • @luvnpeace12312 yes, but better :)

  • that girl at 1:42. mmmmm her and john barrowman....now theres a good night :). and of course if its in the darke or the light i hope i hear the accent lol

  • david tennant, john barrowmen and i were born in paisley! haha<3

  • I was born and raised in Scotland (Edinburgh) and I do understand why people from south england and north america cant understand us sometimes. haha it's so different ^^ I like my accent

  • I love that accent!

  • OMG John Borrowman is just as sexier as a scotish man as he is as anmerican man, get that his partner can have an affair & still be with the same man LOL

  • John Barrowman is my idol. He's just an absolute darling! :) And he's fun, sweet, epically amazing :)

  • "I'm sending in my dog captin Jack" seriously? lol

  • @snarrydrarryallgood Yep his dog is called Captain Jack. xD

  • My God Charlotte Church is so annoying.

  • Charlotte looks really pretty in that clip! I'm not a fan, per se, but that style really suits her. And I almost melted when Jon says.."G'warn yeself darlin."

  • Very clear accents.

  • ''When I'm with my mum and dad.....''

  • He needs to spend more time in Scotland! His accent is slipping.

  • Hell, I'm straight, and I would.

  • My GOD it's sexy, and I feel terrible for thinking that way about a gay man :(

  • @bombshellblonde544 This sounds so petty.

  • @bombshellblonde544

Because gay men want to be ugly!

  • i especially like the bit where he's wearing a Captain America shirt XD

  • I want to hug him. He's so adorable.

  • @KessMonkey i bet he would hug you back if you did

  • Seriously, thank you for this.

  • I love that he has a dog named Captain Jack. It's seriously awesome. :D

  • @crazykidboom he fitting in a small category, why can't he just be omnisexual? lol

  • This must have been a lot of work! Love it, thanks so much for making it

  • I love both his accents!

  • Him and David Tennant are like the coolest Scottish guys ever.

  • @PretentiousTwat scottish guys are all cool hehe =)

  • @PretentiousTwat no i am ko

  • @eRvM3rKz Huh?

  • @PretentiousTwat Him, David Tennant, and Liam Dryden.

  • Comment removed

  • my brother can do exactly the same thing, he grew up in canada but he can speak with a scottish accent at the flick of a switch

  • omg his glaswigen acsent is really good :)

  • If his Scottish accent came out while acting as Jack Harkness...he would seduce Daleks.

  • @Eruaphadriel imagine how much he'd piss off the docter if he started flirting with everything with a scottish accent XD

  • I love him with BOTH accents. They both suit him very well :). Incredibly talented and sexy. I love you John! :D <3

  • Oh God. As a Scottish girl, and a huge fan of John, I love this so much.

  • *melts*

  • @ManCanThe ...hes and actor. its what he does.

  • @BigBadNightWolf yeah but theres a difference, he does it naturally just talking to people he knows n stuff not just on sets -.-

  • @ManCanThe his family moved to america when he was a kid and other children teased him about it, so he started talking with an american accent. i suppose he just got used to it

  • @SameDifferenceisbest That's what I was asking myself just now! I think it was his mum...lol

  • @SameDifferenceisbest That's what I was asking myself just now! I think it was his mum..lol

  • 3:26 a Captain America t-shirt. It makes it, he's definitely my favorite person.

  • he suits the scottish accent better

  • Capt. Shrek Harkness, anyone?

  • Ah he's gay? Man, all of my celebrity crushes lately have turned out gay :( John here, Chris Colfer, Andrew Rannells, Rory O'Malley...not that I'd have a chance, but a girl can dream.

  • 3:20 Is it just me or did someone say "You are" when John say "I'm not mentally dysfunctional"

  • I love his scottish accent :)

  • This is so weird. I came to Australia when I was 7 and do the exact same thing as this guy. Scottish with my family, and Aussie with everyone else...

  • @Jagsm29 I do exactly the same thing. I live in Canada, but my mum's from Manchester and whenever I'm talking to her or anyone in her family, my North American accent automatically switches to Northern English.

  • @Jagsm29 i'm the same! went from scotland to england when i was 5 and england to australia when i was 9, and adjusted my accent every time cos i got teased! and now i live in the states, and my accent has gotten so jumbled, i pretty much sound foreign wherever i go!

  • 3:05... I adore that "I'm asking him"!!!

  • "I'm a bit bi. Bi..lingual?" AH. YOU TEASE!

  • A Glaswegian lad takes his girlfriend home for the first time.

    He says, "This is Amanda."

His dad jumps up. "It's a fucking what?"

  • I want to marry him. Too bad he's homosexual DX

  • @Baloonsnufsaid and already married lol

  • what show is that? the one with the vet?

  • This was a lot of fun to watch. Thanks for your hard work

  • I do love his american accent, but considering he is scottish I wish he would speak that way all the time. scottish accents are sexy ;) It is almost uncanny how good he is at speaking american though. I'm american and I truly would have never known. I knew he was scottish but I thought he lost his accent from living in america. Had no idea he still had it...

  • I kind want him to speak in Scottish accent all the time. I don't like him in American accent, lol.

  • It makes me want to do inappropriate things.

  • @crazykidboom omg that is too wrong :(

  • he is a gay?

  • Too much radiation, we have to go around.

  • Brilliant! :-D

  • @quenchgumyumyum He's Scottish, from Glasgow

  • Wait so does he have a Scottish or an American accent?

  • @quenchgumyumyum

Both...his parent emigrated to Indiana ( I think) when he was nine. He was teased for his accent, and so adopted a mid-western accent, but when he's with his parents or in Scotland, he reverts back to his Glaswegian.

  • NO WAY.

    /shocked

  • what i find dubious is that he loves to mention his double accent all the time xD you would have thought he would have got bored of telling everyone by now!

  • @averielhossley Homophobia is an irational fear of homosexuals. Note that it is IRATIONAL. You are a twat to even think that you MOTHERLOVER.

  • @TheImmortalDimebag He moved to America when he was 9 but he was teased about his accent so he started speaking like an American.

  • Sometimes, I realize I have no idea of what he's saying; I was just listening to his accent!!! LOL xDD

Seriously, I love Scottish accents, but John Barrowman takes it to a whole other level!!! *---*

  • My favorite American is Scottish....

  • @themenaceanish I DIDN'T MEAN THAT. I THINK GAYS ARE AWSOME. IF THEY ARE OPENLY GAY IT MEANS THEY ARE NOT AFRAID TO BE THEMSELVES WHICH I LOVE.

  • Why does he always use an american accent?

  • Wait isn't he Captain Jack Harkness though?!

  • is that his actual dog actually named captain jack? between that and his doctor who ringtones, he really is a proper nerd

  • Okay, so I'm only familiar with a few of these so I have a question here: what are the hairdresser and the vet clips from?

  • @helenofargos As noted in the description, both those clips are from Series 1 of John's BBC 1 Show 'Tonight's the Night'. :)

  • @JSBTheDeadLine Oops! Ha, didn't see that for some reason...thanks!

  • i *thought* he seemed not very american at times...

  • he sounds like my uncle in his accent... he lives in edinburgh :D

  • is her gay?!

  • SO SAD HES GAY

  • @TPS4EVZ I know, it's disgusting. Personally I think gay people should be put in zoos.

  • @themenaceanish ...I really hope you're joking.

  • @JSBTheDeadLine No I'm not.

  • @themenaceanish Zoos for gays....that's so funny....mind you I think it already exists its called London....

  • Is his natural accent scottish or american?

  • @FroggieRawrs i think scottish, i heard he moved to america when he was 9 but he was born in scotland somewhere

  • @GahoolienFlyte208 Glasgow I believe :)

  • Hmm, I prefer the American...

  • When he's a hairdresser, isn't he having a go an accent from the North of England?

  • @pwlszm Yes, indeed he is but at the time of constructing this video I didn't notice that!

  • Very cute!I love when he talkes Scottish :)

  • Lovely! Thank you so much for collecting these. I've always loved the Scottish accent. Now I love John Barrowman, and founding out he is Scottish, and hearing him speak in his original accent...yum!!! He's dead sexy.

  • he's hot. reminds me a lot of tom cruise...

  • 6:25 OH MY GOD HIS DOG IS WEARING THE CAPT JACK COAT

  • I've got one older brother and i'm slightly bi-curious.... maybe there is something in it

  • took Charlotte Church a while to work out what the thing poking John was at 2:00

  • 5:34 what is she sayin there. i can just make out his name then i'm lost. haha

  • 2:24 i have replayed tht prt so much. its hawt as hell. omg. *faints*

  • F*kk yess that accenpt it HOT!! makes him even sexier!!

  • Very cute and sexy

  • He wants to know why he's gay

  • He's soooo adorable! I couldn't say which accent makes him more adorable...I just wish I could keep him! ;)

  • His Scottish accent just makes him sexier :) "Scotsman do have fun"

  • I find it so weird that when they were doing Doctor Who, John and David Tennant were both putting on accents even though they're both Scottish

  • Two guys I really like... John Barrowman for Captain Jack, and Matthew Wright for being a fellow Hawkwind fan. Top guys.

  • whats 8:18 from?

  • @Selfsanity I'm actually English, and I probably should have worded that differently. I meant that some people think that if you're British you're not Scottish, or English and British is the same thing.

  • @itskirstybetchx Not having a go, but I find its usually the English that encourage the whole England = Britain thing that has now become set in stone in USA. Sharing the same national anthem, waving tons of union jacks at england games. When i'm abroad I hear lots of English people switching from 'English to British to England' all in the same sentence when speaking as though its the same thing. No one says they are English AND British. Its just British everyone 'knows' that means English.

  • @ken139 I actually agree with that x.x so many people don't understand the difference, even our own people, it's almost embarrassing. I'm not sure how many times I've had to explain it. Luckily I was educated well so I know what I'm on about :3

  • @itskirstybetchx I find that too. My mum called her Scottish friends "English" and when I corrected her she said "oh, it's the same thing" and I was like "no it's not". I feel sorry for Welsh people - they must be considered English all the time.

  • That was brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We went to the concert hall in Glasgow to see John and he was a Scot most of the night which was sooooo good. He reacted with the audience and is a natural comedian and entertainer. I wouldnt throw him out of bed for farting !!!

  • That was brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We went to the concert hall in Glasgow to see John and he was a Scot most of the night which was sooooo good. He reacted with the audience and is a natural comedian and entertainer. I wouldnt throw him out of bed for farting !!!

  • @daisymillie97 No, I'm not retarded thank you. And it's *that's.

  • When will people stop thinking that British and Scottish are separate things x.x if you are Scottish you are British, and if you English or Welsh you are British. And I also hate when people think that Britain and the UK are the same thing when they're not >.>

  • He must have spent the entire time behind the Doctor Who set speaking in a scottish accent, since David Tennant would always be speaking with a scottish accent.

  • This is so awesome! xD

You just have to love him.

Anyway could someone tell me from which show 5:01 is?

  • its weird cuz he reminds me of a manlier version of tom cruise..... but he's gay xD..... right?

  • What shows are the footage of him with his parents, and him pranking people from? They look interesting and I wanna find em.

  • ahhhhhhhh I have newfound respect, I thought he was secretly brittish after hearing him pronounce a word the brittish way on torchwood, but no, no, scottish, <3

  • @ThingsMarchBrings Scottish are British, when are people ever going to understand this? British is not English, in fact the British have always been the people who reside on the land of Britannia, even the Caledonians (Scots/Picts) were British people. We hold British passports, we are British, in fact, we're more British than the English heritage wise, considering we hae stronger British roots than anglo-saxon English people. And I mean no offence to English people by that.

  • @ScottMcK9 I'm from Scotland and live in canada, and my two best friends are english, and people always call them British and me Scottish, and one of my friends called me "scrittish" 'cause she thought I sounded a bit english. I am forever trying to explain that "Scotland and England are IN Britain" But what can I say, no offense to Canadians but people in Canada can be a bit thick. But what really annoys me is how my English friends are always referring to Britain as England. :/
