This happened to a girlfriend of mine about 17 years ago. Her dad came home and found a one eyed hobo in her room. He was sitting on the edge og her bed, with his band aid taken off and stuck on the wall for later use. He had a sandwhich out and was eating it. The state of California can not afford to pay the people running homes for the mentally ill and so they stop funding them. The homes are forced to close and a huge population of mentally ill people are released into the general populace. In San Francisco the problem seems to be larger than in other places. Homeless people with mental disabilities are something you think about whenever you leave your apartment. You WILL get hassled & its best to be calm with them and not make a scene.
