We have noticed the problem and first reported it to the EPA. Melbourne Water is now investigating and at this stage the main suspect is one or more of the new residential developments in the north of the catchment. We think that they may have exposed a lot of soil and not protected it properly from run off- which would have occurred from heavy storms over the New Year period.
