There was a goal in the Flyers series that was called no goal even though it was pretty clear it was over.

The difference is the Penguins were able to keep fighting and win anyway. The Rangers weren't.

yeah the refs did blow this fucken series. For example: take a look at Drury from 0:10-0:17. That's not a penalty? But the high stick which gave momentum back to the crybabys with just over a minute left was caught. Bettman wants you fuckers to go to the finals so his precious ratings can go up. The reffing calls sometimes suck but it's pretty rare that the linesman miss one. He's got a much better view than ANY tv camera did. The tv camera doesn't show where Dupuis' feet are, the boards obstruct that and the glass distorts the blue line.

Later in Game 5, after the Rangers made a surprising come back to tie the game at 2-2, the refs ironically call Drury for a 4-min major high-sticking on Malone which carried into OT. Granted Pens didnt score on the PP, but they gained an offensive footing in OT and set up well. The Rangers were killing a penalty and couldnt get going properly. Pens ultimately win.

Game 5. Drury high sticked in the face by Malone, lacerating his left cheek. Drury bled severely on the ice, yet no penalty called. Rangers lost complete momentum and were deflated by the non-call. Frustrated and upset, Rangers called for 3 consecutive minor penalties which weren't missed by the refs. Pens get 2-0 lead.

When I saw this, I thought it was a bad miss call too. The only thing I could figure was that Drury's head was beneath or at the same height as his shoulders. And for a high stick penalty to be called, the stick must hit above the players shoulders. Obviously, it wasn't intentional, I know that doesn't matter b/c you have to have control of your stick. But Drury was bent over even under the cross bar.

Game 2, 1-0 Pens, Straka scores in the third. Goal dissallowed. The referee was in the corner, thought the puck was covered and blew the whistle. Less than half a sec later the puck crossed the goal line. It had never been covered. Premature whistle, bad positioning cost the Rangers a chance to go to OT.

Well it happened to end up crossing the line on that play. HOwever, I saw at least two early whistles yesterday in favor of the Rangers, when Lundquis (who was amazing) did not have the puck covered. It happens man...the ref lost sight of the puck.

Game 1, Straka interference call in the last several minutes was a really bad call. Both Straka and Crosby made pretty much the same move on eachother trying to squeeze past one another. Crosby fell, Straka got called. In a tied game late in the 3rd in the playoffs you need to let them play.

This should not be interpreted as a claim that the refs intentionally tried to give the series to Pittsburgh, as they certainly earned this series victory. However, the number of game changing calls that went aginst NY is hard to swallow.

I do honestly believe the Pens got the benefit of some calls, and at times their tactics were questionable. However, the speed and fire of the Peng is simply overwhelming and ANY true hockey fan can appreciate a young & hungry team. The heart and determination of the Rangers mix of vets who have been to the top before and talented young studs to rally game after game made me so proud to be a Blueshirts fan. This was a good old-fashioned hard nose series with some great hockey. We saw everything!
