  • Is their a way to make more of the sauce? My fiance loves how this dish tastes with rice, but would like to add more sauce.

  • I just made this an it is amazing yum no more Boi to Chinese food reasturants :D yummm

  • at 2:28 2 tablespoons of oil = 1 cup

    at 3:29 1 teaspoon of oil = 1/4 cup

    XD

  • can i get the all those ingrediants at any grocery store?

  • @sakoerlox14 yea, just go into the asian food section, its all there. Most grocery chains have that section

  • I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow when I wake up so I can make this for breakfast!

  • at least put the recipe and instructions in the description. Copy and paste is much better than writing this stuff down.

  • ...i wonder if theres a place that i could get chinese food at 5:30 am...

  • Typically, flank steak is used in this recipe. It's cut -- across the grain -- into thin slices.

  • what is the cut of the beef??????????????

  • @vtec18c I would like to know too, but the possibility of getting an answer is very slim.

  • THAT IS SO THE BOMB!

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you do that? Why do you cook it, and then put it in front of our face and say "enjoy" ? To torture us? You know I can't eat across my computer!

  • thank you so much for posting, Kai. you are truly talented.

  • Kai is the best youtube chef PERIOD. Thanks brotha

  • Extremely good only thing i did differently was add some extra herbs to the marinating meat and 4 capfuls of soy sauce 1 tsp of minced garlic i didnt have regular garlic a whole packet of mushrooms cut up a small handful of onions 3tsps of stir fry sauce and 2 tsps of cornstarch and a little more sugar than he added mixed it in with broccoli and cooked until juices are soaked in pretty good:) mmmm mmmm good cured tha heck out of my munchies bro the house smells so good too haha peace.:)

  • 2.28 : "put in about two table spoons of oil...." *goes ahead and pour 1/4 of the oil bottle* xD

  • mmmm cant wait to make this for my family would it matter if i left out the sugar?? would there be a difference in the tast ?

  • @Vampirelove300 I only used a pinch of sugar in mine and it was still delicious!!

  • Yes I would like to know what kind of beef to get?

  • @Shellydawn69

It looks like you can use flank steak and steak cuts such as rib eye.

  • I just cooked this dish..I love it!!! Came out well. Looking at your other videos and saving myself some money doing it myself. It's so damn easy. Thanks.

  • What kind of beef was used? Every time I make it, my beef's sauce never thickens up the way it's shown in the video (or at restaurants). Is there something I'm doing differently?? Thanks!

  • for anyone not sure about adding wine to this...its fine achohol goes away after being cooked...soo u know if ya wanted to make this for kids and still use wine for flavor

  • i will try this for the 2nd time. but how can you tell if the beef is cooked? because the first time i tried it, the beef was like chewing gum and the broccoli got overcooked because i was trying to let the beef cook but i already add in the broccoli

  • @1redclover The beef should of already been cooked before the brocolli even goes into the pan.

  • @1redclover i would just cook the beef and broccoli seprate just to get used to how long they should cook

  • Thanks for sharing :) Simple, quick and delicious; perfect!

  • SKBAsJanu// thank you for the info. Can't wait to try it myself.

  • I made this for dinner tonight and it was WONDERFUL!! The only thing I changed was to add a little bit of shredded carrots. Thanks for teaching me how to make this Kai, it's going to be on my regular menu!!

  • Nice...thanks for sharing..I love the background music as well.

  • I am from China, but its so weired that Ive never heard of this dish b4..

  • This is good fast night cooking when you're drunk :)

  • should have cooked the beef and broccoli in boiling water before letting it hit the frying pan that way it wont become all liquidly when it hits the fryin pan

  • Sorry about previous comment. But I would like to know what kind of beef are you using? Please let me know.

  • @Os151985 I think it's flank steak

  • what kind of beef !?! I MUST KNOW !?!

  • why so much sesame oil? I find it is a very very strong flavor and ruins sauces?

  • I know what am cooking tonight.

  • @Cyrix166

I'm pretty sure he said HOISIN sauce and not oyster.

  • @Jean2DaBean It actually IS oyster sauce....look at his ingredient list at 0:29.

  • @Jean2DaBean nahh he said oyster sauce plus its in his list of ingrediants but i supose hoisin would make more sense

  • DON'T MAKE THIS. I made it and almost puked. Something is wrong. Or get a good oyster sauce, that's definitely what ruined mine.

  • mmmm gotta try this

  • Comment removed

  • Chinese food is simply awesome! Easy to make and delicious!

  • omfg! making this on friday! xD

  • omg it looks so good ♥

  • Thanks for posting this video. I had just gotten a wok and really didn't know what to do with it. Nice simple recipe and in like 30 mines (including 15 mins to let the meat marinate) I was DONE. Honestly loading and waiting for the rice cooker took longer.

I actually used sirloin steak since it was on sale for like $4.99/lb and it turned out great. Basically I looked for the cheapest cut of beef in the butchers case.

Now to try some other recipes you have.

  • THANK YOU sooo much for your videos. I was in such a cooking slump, was running out of supper ideas for my family. I have made 2 of your meals and my family went crazy for them. Can you post how to make won tong soup please? xo

  • itkman let me teach you soemthing

  • americans just throw a big heaping chunk of cow meat on the grill while we drink beer. this is real good tho i made it with just soysauce and sesame oil and broccolli and beef. damn good.

  • brocilbeef lol

  • I have a question... why is it necessary to wash the pan before putting in the broccoli?

please answer my question.. THanks. great recipe!

  • Your actually not suppose to wash a WOK your suppose to just wipe it off.....most people who own traditional oriental WOKS have had it for about 10-20 yrs and will tell you thats how it's suppose to be seasoned. ask around and you'll find out ;)

  • Hi, would the wine help any thing in the cooking? i like the part you said chop the fingers. then it would become finger brocoli. hhahhhahhaaha

  • Holy Crap! This shit is good! I used boneless chuck with terriyaki, and guestimated the ingredient amount. You can't really go wrong.

  • What about sauce? soy/terriyak/Hunan

  • When making dishes that use beef like this one, (VERY GOOD by the way!), what kind of beef or what cut of beef do you use?

  • @TonyLopez1972 Most places use flank steak. This steak is tough and should have grains visible in it. You are supposed to cut against the muscle grain at a 90 degree angle. and make thin slices of about 1/8 inch thick.

  • Hey Kai, to make chicken and broccoli, should we use the same ingredients?

  • Yes..You can always replace beef/pork with anything. You can even use Tofu if you are vegan. The only Diff is the cooking time varies. Its all good in the end.

  • itkman

can u make a video of cream puffs adn coconut shrimp

    thank you budddy.

  • I'm sure it tastes good, but...

that's a ton of meat. Using less than half that amount of beef will still taste just as good and you'll $ave.

Also, chinese tablespoons must be bigger than english - your 2 Tbsp of oil is over twice as much as ours (your beef is swimming in it). You could have used 1/4 that, gotten a toasty sear on your beef...and $ave.

  • Beef n Broccoli is the best. everyone should make . I think you talk Like I would think you should. Asian people have added ALOT to this Country.

  • In soviet russia, chinese food cookes you.

  • chini brok biaf!

  • Comment removed

  • no flavor for the beef much? lol NOOOOOOO SAUCE!?

  • he shows the simple way, and it was flavor filled, trust me that was a lot of oyster sauce he used. If you want to make more saucyness put some beef broth sugar oystersauce soy sauce into a bowl, stir it, pour it in pan when done cooking, let it go to a boil, add corn starch and water, stir and put to boil again.

  • no salt?? how about the salt???

  • wat kind of beef

  • You can do this with flank steak as long as you marinate it first.

  • The kind of beef my local restaurant uses is charcol steak

  • OK-Final question! What knife is that exactly? I would love to find a really good, sharp knife!

  • stop going to the pakistan knife vender behind the homeless shelter and get a Henkels from a restaurant supply store.

Cheap dull pakistani knives are only good for one beheading before you have to throw them away......

  • I love all the recipes!! I never knew how to cook chinese food always wanted to know how to because its my nicest food! Thank you so much! You really know what you are doing! a+ chef!

  • hi. have you prepared this dish yet??

does it come out tasting exaculy like at the chinese resraunts??

    it looks good

  • Could you use this recipe with chicken and broccoli.

  • Only thing missing (for someone who does not cook) is what cut of beef do I use?

  • You should use sirloin beef. Lots of flavor, easy to cook and not so expensive

  • Thank you!

  • i love your accent and your cooking techniques!

  • hahah thx for the video, now i know how to make beef with broccoli !

  • too much oil..wahh

  • I have a wok and it is perfect for dishes like this! Invest in a good wok, you won't regret it.

  • I really love this dish when eating with rice. Sauce and beef/broccoli all just go together so well.

  • cook everythingS over high heat

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you use sugar in beef and broccoli?

  • do not question the master's ways.. hiii yah

  • Sugar is used in alot of Asian cooking although beef and broc is a north American dish and not authentic to china it has flavorings similar to that of Asia .. the sugar is widely used not only for flavor but it actually breaks down the enzymes in red meat giving you that tender juicy texture your use to!

  • Just made some like an hour ago... :) It was so good.. :D

  • does it take just like the restarunts??

it does look good, what kind of meat did you buy

  • Ya it did!..the meat was beef of course

  • wow thanks..will try this

  • Comment removed

  • I tried this and it came out really good!! Tasted great and did not take long to make!!! Thanks for your videos!

  • What cut of beef did you get?

  • I went to Publix and they had already cut, stir-fry ready beef.

  • Very tasty!! I added some chili garlic sauce to the beef marinate, just to kick up the heat a little.

  • damn kai, i have to say thank you soooo much man, i made this today and did what u to do and god its heavenly. it only cost me 15 dollars for the whole ingredients and man its authenthic, thank you sooo mcuh

  • hey kai, I have a tip for you and your upcoming movies, You shouldnt just say beef, when people go to shop for the ingrediants they cant just buy beef. You have to be specific, is it london broil, flank? You rock thou!

  • That looks delicious! It was quick, too.

  • i love beef and brock i half to try thise.

  • Would Beef broth be good to make it less dry?

  • sorry, that was in response to scottskitchen's numerous comments.

  • That was no tbs of oil.

  • he gives all the instructions not like other vids

  • I love your videos very informative! one question what tipe of beef is that.

  • is this the same way of cooking chicken and broccoli except using chicken instead of beef? thanks.
