Extremely good only thing i did differently was add some extra herbs to the marinating meat and 4 capfuls of soy sauce 1 tsp of minced garlic i didnt have regular garlic a whole packet of mushrooms cut up a small handful of onions 3tsps of stir fry sauce and 2 tsps of cornstarch and a little more sugar than he added mixed it in with broccoli and cooked until juices are soaked in pretty good:) mmmm mmmm good cured tha heck out of my munchies bro the house smells so good too haha peace.:)
I just cooked this dish..I love it!!! Came out well. Looking at your other videos and saving myself some money doing it myself. It's so damn easy. Thanks.
What kind of beef was used? Every time I make it, my beef's sauce never thickens up the way it's shown in the video (or at restaurants). Is there something I'm doing differently?? Thanks!
for anyone not sure about adding wine to this...its fine achohol goes away after being cooked...soo u know if ya wanted to make this for kids and still use wine for flavor
i will try this for the 2nd time. but how can you tell if the beef is cooked? because the first time i tried it, the beef was like chewing gum and the broccoli got overcooked because i was trying to let the beef cook but i already add in the broccoli
I made this for dinner tonight and it was WONDERFUL!! The only thing I changed was to add a little bit of shredded carrots. Thanks for teaching me how to make this Kai, it's going to be on my regular menu!!
should have cooked the beef and broccoli in boiling water before letting it hit the frying pan that way it wont become all liquidly when it hits the fryin pan
i just came back from the mini chinese store and got all of those ingredients.I am going to cook that later on today and i will return an leave a coment on how it was tasting...

man i just made this and it tastes exactly like the kind they have at the chinese buffets in indiana, i live in mexico now btw and since chinese food down here sucks i followed this recipe and it came out great :D
Thanks for posting this video. I had just gotten a wok and really didn't know what to do with it. Nice simple recipe and in like 30 mines (including 15 mins to let the meat marinate) I was DONE. Honestly loading and waiting for the rice cooker took longer.
I actually used sirloin steak since it was on sale for like $4.99/lb and it turned out great. Basically I looked for the cheapest cut of beef in the butchers case.
THANK YOU sooo much for your videos. I was in such a cooking slump, was running out of supper ideas for my family. I have made 2 of your meals and my family went crazy for them. Can you post how to make won tong soup please? xo
americans just throw a big heaping chunk of cow meat on the grill while we drink beer. this is real good tho i made it with just soysauce and sesame oil and broccolli and beef. damn good.
Your actually not suppose to wash a WOK your suppose to just wipe it off.....most people who own traditional oriental WOKS have had it for about 10-20 yrs and will tell you thats how it's suppose to be seasoned. ask around and you'll find out ;)
@TonyLopez1972 Most places use flank steak. This steak is tough and should have grains visible in it. You are supposed to cut against the muscle grain at a 90 degree angle. and make thin slices of about 1/8 inch thick.
Yes..You can always replace beef/pork with anything. You can even use Tofu if you are vegan. The only Diff is the cooking time varies. Its all good in the end.
that's a ton of meat. Using less than half that amount of beef will still taste just as good and you'll $ave.
Also, chinese tablespoons must be bigger than english - your 2 Tbsp of oil is over twice as much as ours (your beef is swimming in it). You could have used 1/4 that, gotten a toasty sear on your beef...and $ave.
he shows the simple way, and it was flavor filled, trust me that was a lot of oyster sauce he used. If you want to make more saucyness put some beef broth sugar oystersauce soy sauce into a bowl, stir it, pour it in pan when done cooking, let it go to a boil, add corn starch and water, stir and put to boil again.
I love all the recipes!! I never knew how to cook chinese food always wanted to know how to because its my nicest food! Thank you so much! You really know what you are doing! a+ chef!
Sugar is used in alot of Asian cooking although beef and broc is a north American dish and not authentic to china it has flavorings similar to that of Asia .. the sugar is widely used not only for flavor but it actually breaks down the enzymes in red meat giving you that tender juicy texture your use to!

Typically, flank steak is used in this recipe. It's cut -- across the grain -- into thin slices.
