I guess you are right about that. Plus the show has been running for more than 20 years, so it will be very hard for Japanese audience to follow the whole series. Still, Japanese version was pretty good, where only language were dubbed and didn't edit so much scene, unlike Wulin Warrior where they put bad and stupid dialogue and edited so much scene to tone down violence to appeal to younger audience.

The show did aired in Japan, but it was canceled.... after three episodes for some reason.
DVD is available in Japan. Japanese version did a lot better than that crappy English dub, Wulin Warrior.
