Hey Joe (get it? jk) (Seriously) Excellent job putting together the lesson!!! Most Utube "lessons" aren't this detailed and specific; they typically encompass "lesson' in the title and simply show someone playing the song/lick slowly and extremely close-up! Thanks for some insight on Rockabilly as well. Nice playing. A new subscriber. Peace.
Thanks Joe! The Name is mark(54yrs old).Never to late!! Right into playing! Pay it forward you say! You're going to guitar heaven for sure! Practicing everyday till I get it! Thanks again! Mark from Vancouver B.C.
Thanks! I'm still working on my theory off the internet too! I'm getting close to being able to figure why they are called what they are called! It will come in time! Like I never thought I would be able tto learn this song! It was all you! You are doing a great service to all guitar players! I've been playing a cheap acoustic for the last 2 years! I just love playing! Gretsch store is my next stop! Soon as I save my pennies! Thanks, I have it all written down and can just about play it! :)
@yodpod You're welcome; theory does help. Took me years of struggling to realize that. I'm not an expert, but there are a lot of tools like the internet that help. I'm glad to provide these songs for everyone-it's become a hobby and a great way to learn songs to share. I wish I had it starting out, but I didn't so the least I can do is help those that do have it now....pay it forward! ~My best~ Joe
very helpful and much appreciated. One comment (maybe some one else has pointed this out). I wouldn't call that chord a "Fm-flat-fifth" as you say a couple of times (such as at 6:14). It's clearly a dominant chord to take you back to the root (Cm). So it's a variant of a G7 chord. More precisely a G7flat9flat6 or sharp 5 if you want to think of it as an augmented dominant, a chord that Setzer clearly loves, and why not, it sounds great :)
thank you sir, i love this song once i heard of it. haha i thought when i first found this band it was a 50s band xDDD then i found out they were from the 80s i was like omg dude theblues still carried through to the 80s? thats amazing!!! i really want to learn this. i've been playing for about 3 to 4 years and just got my 4th gutiar a Gretsch duojet electromatic same as George Harrison so i know i will be able to pull most of the sounds. even though its not ahollow body
