  • This is NOT shit , and if the bak bumper flu of at least you are still alive but you can't say that about your Russian cars .....

  • А потом их ремонтируют и продают нам!!

  • гавно, даже задний бампер отлетел

  • @killswitchengage888 uh, who cares, it's still the same car

  • BMW For Life!

  • :( THIS IS SOO SAD!! FUCK THAT WALL!!

  • That was 540i not 525i

  • what is cut under car near to the diff??

  • @giorgoscosworth looks a bit like monitoring wires for rear axzle heat, or most likely those are the rubber straps for the exhaust.

  • does anyone know if it's the facelift version?

  • @assailant85 This is the 1997 to 2000 version, not facelifted. Those wheels were available only "pre-facelift", and you can see at 0:35 the foglamps, which are square, whereas the facelifted version are round. I should know, since I drive a 2001 one, LOL. Damn good cars, love them.

  • @lalbruiz thx man, I should have known as well since my parents drive exact this version with those wheels :)

I think it was the best BMW5 until now the F10 came out. The facelift version still looks very modern because of the angel eyes - the best daylights.

  • @assailant85 No problem. I wanted to trade mine but it is not worth it, the E60 is not my favourite design, and too much money is required to update to an E90 3 series, whose design I really like. Let alone to upgrade to an F10...maybe in 10 years, LOL.

  • @lalbruiz Hehe, stay with your E39. It can drive up to 1.2 million kilometres with one engine - a german guy in a board really did that! And it didn't break down but he had an accident in the end :)

My parents want a new car, too, but to sell the old one would be a real waste of money.

  • the 1995-2003 BMW 5 Series was assembled in

    Dingolfing, Germany

    Toluca, Mexico

    Cairo, Egypt

    6th of October City, Egypt

    Kaliningrad, Russia

  • @Annihilator1111 WHAT!! Toluca, really? I didn´t knew that....

  • Why does the rear bumper come off even if the front of the car is the only part involved in the crash?

  • @Laker4life100 thats a good thing...it means the car's chassis transfers part of the energy on impact to the rear...the shock in the cabin in decreased

  • @Laker4life100 The energy of created by the impact travels through the car, knocking the rear bumper out of it's place.

  • The information on the door says this is a 540i, (V8) not a straight 6 525i.

  • @tepids to my knowledge they use a slant 6 in these bmw's dont they???

  • @betrayergrandma If you pause the video at 0:18 you can clearly see 540i on the front door. The 540I is powered by an M62, a 4.4 litre V8. I have one parked in the driveway :)

  • @tepids The engine probably doesn't make any difference with crash results. It's not part of the crumple zone. The 6 cylinder version would have the same/similar result.

  • @frohman3 yeah perhaps, I'm just wasting time pointing out the title of this video is wrong because I'm finniky like that (",)

  • type in asian car crash test then you will see why the west is best when it comes to safety was that the comment that got removed lol if so why? its true statment.

  • 0:10 the old BMW problem: The back axles are too weak. This issue exists at least since the 1980s and recently ended with the latest BMW models.

  • 10 km/h faster and you'd be dead.. you can see it barely supported that crash.

  • @alliancesuxftw Firstly, the windshield didn't even crack. The passenger compartment was well protected from the forces. Secondly, most people don't seem to realize that this is a worst case scenario crash test. A front end wreck is rarely going to occur against that solid of an object that's perfectly offset to shove the most force at the driver as possible. A wreck between two cars is very different because vehicles aren't as solid as concrete walls... think before you comment.

  • @ineverrememberthese the force of impact is greater in a head-on since the force vectors are cumulative. Thus, there would be a greater impulse delivered to the drivers in the case of head-on than just a car and a "solid" concrete wall.

  • @tmmullenhevey I never said a head on collision between two moving cars is better than hitting a concrete wall. You are putting words in my mouth. I'm saying if you hit another car in a manner similar to this, you will fare better than if you hit a concrete wall in the same way... I never indicated two cars colliding head on with one another.

  • @tmmullenhevey the force between two cars traveling at the same speed with the same mass and general construction that hit head on would have the same force applied to them as if they hit a concrete wall. in a head on crash between two of the same car it is not cumulative, if anything it has a canceling effect because the inertia of both moving vehicles have an equal force on each other.

  • It's a 540i

  • the car got hit from the front but the rear bumper ripped off.....

  • @kurdboy45 )))) yes rear bumper is fantastic

    hahahahah

  • Why would the bumper come off in a frontal crash?

  • @Fiilme Why wouldn't it?

  • @demoskunk lol idk its just funny

  • Comment removed

  • @onabreeze comment removed why? was it that bad lol.

  • @Fiilme If you watch it again theres some straps on the bumper which are connected to i think the axle? maybe thats why the bumper gave way.

  • My car :D

  • destructive bmw

  • how did the back bumper come off?

  • @atehortua1331 the force of the wall made the bumper come off.

  • @atehortua78589057895789579. Because BMW and very bad cars. NO, because no one cares about the "back bumper" if the whole fucking car is totaled.

    Durr!

  • @TheCottonTop

    LOL, true true.

  • see the bottom sill wrinkle by the back door ... the body shifted out of shape which popped the bumper off

  • yup its a 540i the european spec cars 520i 523i and the 528 i have the us spec 540 i wheels

  • it's 40 "mph"...not kph

  • It is the way cars are made.

The front and back of the cars are made to collapse and absorb impact while the Middle where people sit is made to be rigid and strong as not the collapse on the people.

  • yeah this ones quite amazing how it nearly had its rear bumper off and its frame was still rigid.

  • Quality car- I think this and the Audi A8 were the two safest sedans when they first came out?

  • And did you know that e39 model is only car in the world that has been given "the best car in the world" award.

  • That car is 540i, not 525i, and e39 was actually launched in1995, not 1997. I know this because i own a 1995 e39.

  • r u stupid or on drugs the E39 came out in 1997

    E34 last year 1996 RETARD

  • Check wikipedia RETARD!!

  • i dunno, i think there must've been a period when both were being produced. Because I have read different numbers everywhere

  • The E39 came out in Europe in 1996. They never imported the 1996 5 series to America so America didn't have a 1996 5 series. They stopped making E34 in 1995.

  • 97 e39 m8

  • @salabenchod m8 :S there is no such thing the closest bmw got to m8 was the 850csi

  • no i meant 1997 e39 - 5series (mate)

  • Does anyone know how fast it was traveling?

  • 40mph

  • Wow, that sucks! :D I usally do around 80mph on my routes. Imagine crashing.

  • yeah, exactly you moron - hope that when you die on the road you don't take anyone else with you.

  • +1

Go to driving school before doing anything stupid!!

You cant control a car at 80 if you cant control it at 20.

  • i hope u brake a little before ramming into something at 80. :)

  • iv seen better

  • Haha, the rear bumper..

  • that car ruined a camera at 0:06

  • @Wiishit23456withvids hahahahhaa nice :D

  • wow..safe for a 97

  • safe for an 08 :)

  • on the side of the car saiz 540i.
