Most of the time these custom made Atari games work on Cartridge. I found a guy to put the Angry Video Game nerd on a cart for me for $20 and I love it. PRoblem is he can only put games up to 32k on a cart. I doubt this one would be that big though?
Say, what are the odds you have a binary of this still kicking around?
I'm planning on building one of Robert Demming's 512-in-1 multi-carts as a Christmas gift. After filtering out bad dumps/hacks/alts/demos I have a bit of blank space. This would be the most awesome Easter egg ever.
I ended up ditching the 512 cart when I found out about the Harmony cart. It works great, and it's so cheap for what it does ($50 and works with all <=32KB bank-switching logic).
Yep, it was written using Batari Basic, then recorded through the Stella emulator. I would have put it on a cartridge and recorded it using an actual 2600, but I've never been able to get my ROM burner to work right.
Wait. That really looked like a composite or RF signal, which you can't emulate on any computer! You certainly did a good job making it appear to be running on actual hardware!
That would be a result of the way I recorded the video. I didn't have a good screen recording program, so I simply looped the video out back around to the video in, using a composite cable. It wasn't intentional, but I guess it did help the effect.
Although, I hear that the latest versions of Stella might be including a CRT display simulation effect, which will make the games more blurry and fuzzy so that they'll look more authentic.

@jimbox114 It's only 4K. There's a link to the ROM and the label art in the video description.

YouTube is a bit picky when it comes to links, so I couldn't put one in this comment. Instead, I added it to the video info.
I've never tried running it on an actual Atari, though (Couldn't get a ROM burner to work...), so I don't know how well it'll turn out.

I tricked my little bro into playing this, he left screaming and crying.

The graphics and sound appear to be authentic, although I'm sure a lot more is possible; bravo for actually using the 2600!
tkwtube01 2 years ago
Yeah, but unfortunately, I had to emulate it for this video. Would have loved to put it on a real 2600...
