I just had to mention this, as I see a lot of your subbers talking about treats for piggies. I feel I have to mention this to keep piggies safe.

1) Yogurt is NOT good for pigs and cannot even be digested by sensitive piggie tummies.

2) Nuts, colored bits, and seeds should be avoided at all costs.

3) Eggs, honey, and anything sticky is not good either.

Fresh veggies and fruits are the best treats you can offer your piggie.

@GuineaPigGoddess1 I understand your point. I give mine treats occasionally. They aren't the healthiest of foods but that's why it's a treat. It's like me with chocolate, it's bad but lovely as an occasional treat :) I dont give my pigs any dairy foods. Most the treats do contain honey these days along with the eggs. I think they just use egg to stick them together etc.

A good tip to remmeber is that guinea pigs like to go to the bathroom where they eat, so maybe you should try the litter box under a hayrack. Or at least that is what has worked with my pigs. While I still sometimes find poos in other areas of the cage, most of the pee/poo ends up in the litter tray where their hay rack is.

If anone (like you laura) has a guinea pig that doesnt like treats then i would recomend the vitakraft vegetable drops for guinea pigs, they die for them! My pig Luther was terrified of me but he would come right up to me for one of these buties.... then run off again....

@BuritoPlaysMineCraft Um, yeah? That's what you're supposed to do. Guinea pigs go to the toilet in areas that they feel safe (ie. dark corners, hidey houses), so if you put a towel or something above the litter box they will go there more.

My hamster died this week:( Seeing Penelope makes me a bit sad because I remember the contest entry I did with him and Penelope in the same cage with the captions. I started watching piggiepigpigs just before she got her hamster because I was so glad to see another 20-something year old who loved hamster as much as me. one trick that might help u potty train them (based on my experience) is to cover up each corner, with either a toy, pigloo, or something to hide that corner up. This trick discouraged my guinea pigs to poo on that area. so now where they poo the most is where i put the potty thing. hope i helped...

@deniseee1020 My guinea pigs are smarter than me they push the litter pan out of the way and still get into the corner to go poo and pee. I put tile squares in all four corners to discourage it but they like the cold tiles, :) and I put the igloo there and they push it out of the way too. They are clever and determined little piggies.
