I got the foundation, I like the color, I like the coverage and finish. But it seems to settle into fine lines and also seems to make it look like you have flaking skin in places. I did try it with a primer I have, but maybe I should use the satin primer. Is there something I can do to avoid it settling into fine lines around the eye?
@nurulaynMahsa my skin is like dry too and it totally works. try the MAC strobe cream and put on the illamasqua liquid foundation right after that. well i'm not sure about the colour but i use RF200 its not too white and not too dark either, but believe me its the most flawless liquid foundation you'll ever have :D
@Kinatakins I'm an nc20 (roughly.. no mac foundations suit my skintone) and have this in 133, i'm not sure colourwise how it maches nc20 but it's perfect for my skintone.
you look better with that finish as opposed to matte because it brings out your natural skin tone as an undertone mixed with the illamasqua foundation so i suggest you stick with that because you look gorgeous with it on . x sadly i cant wear foundation it breaks me out :'( plus i wanna be a makeup artist but my parents really put me down about it so its really bad.. but anyways stick to your illamasqua babe :) x
I've been on the website just now and i saw a 'new' shade RF 115, claiming to be for very light skin...is this a newer shade since you filmed this as it was just under a year ago? i'm really pale, i find it really hard to find the right colour for me. :) x
thank you soooomuch for this review! you look fab, boy.... does it settle into lines? w/ or w/out primer? i am soo young yet i get those lines, no matter how well i moisturize :( i think my skin is just dehydrated, not dry
I have been watching reviews on this foundation ever since I was at Sephora in Las Vegas and an EXTREMELY pale foundation caught my eye. I went right over and tried it on my hand. I do have to say that it's got nice coverage, but I think I'm between the lightest skin tone shade and the pinkish white one. I do need LOTS of coverage due to scarring and acne. Should I get this foundation?
Hi! Thanks a lot for the review. I have already got 105. And i`m confused about how my skin looks after using it. (oh, sorry for my bad English). Foundation is underline dry areas of my skin, which i havent see before. And it`s underline my pores very much too :( I thought that reason is my skin type, but my friend is tried it and say the same :( Also Ive got the pressed powder and have similar problems with it :( Maybe i need cream foundation, what do you think? Or satin primer could help me?
I love you, - YOU ARE SO FRICKEN CUTE!!! Great tips! I agree though, I don't think I will ever be able to give up my mufeHD foundation, I love it too much.!
#135 is actually the lightest skin shade (not #120). It can be confusing, but when you see #135, it's hard not to miss how much lighter this is than #120. In fact #135 is a truer Ivory and much lighter. #120 was very jaundiced looking and too dark for me. The color system is a mess.
@VampiricSirenMuse It actually depends on the undertones of your skin, if you're not using the right based undertone it can look darker and really bad. i.e I use 115 because I'm yellow based, but if I used 120 it would look weird and dark and totally wrong because it's pink based.
@VampiricSirenMuse Actually the lightest skin tone shade is #115, which has a pink undertone. I'm a #135 and it's not exactly the palest of foundations, I usually mix in a slight bit of #100. But I do agree their colour system is a mess, they're all over the place.
On asos the colour chart shows RF140 lighter than RF120 and i read someones blog where they said the counter staff said that RF135 is actualy lighter than RF120 but has more pink tones. I am so confused about the colours as i dont have a store near me, wish the colours on the website were beter :/
Wayne at gossmakeupartist just did a tutorial on this foundation. He says you basically need to dilute the foundation with moisturizer before applying it!
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have dry/sensitive skin and im very prone to acne and have ALOT of acne scarring and was wondering which foundation would be best out of Illamasqua or The Clinique repairwear? I currently use revlon colorstay and that isnt thick enough to cover my acne scarring. Any advice would be great :)
Absolutely adore you! Your incredibly cool and unique with the absolute best make up I have ever seen. Love your flawless look. Positively gorgeous. I would love to know what eye shadows you are wearing because I love this look. I am super pale and think this would bring out my large brown eyes beautifully. Would love to know! XOXO!
does the light liquid foundation have as nice of a coverage? the heavy stuff does look like it was need a lot of maintenance but im wondering whether the light would work well as well. especially in the 100 and 105. I have white skin so i cant really find many places that doesn't have watery foundation
@KasIsBitter If you're pale enough you could pull it off. I have the 105 and I have pale skin but some redness on the cheeks. It covered the foundation and made me look a bit paler (my whole family commented on that lol) but it still looked good because of my natural skin tone and they probably noticed a lot more because it completely covered the redness in my face.
sorry to put you on the spot here...but you said it covered redness...i have quite a yellowish shade to my skin, do you think 105 would look like white face paint on that skin colour?

1. yes he does remind me of Ashley from Charm School.
2. Yup I feel as though I can't trust the reveiws here on Youtube
3. Your makeup does appear a bit off, I'm guess where you supposed to have a beard and as a result of you shaving it's lighter than the rest of your face and the foundation just doesn't help it.
I am just asking...It seems like this company is buying some advertising here on you-tube.. Alot of people are reviewing these products, So my question is.......Did you buy these products or did the company give them to you so you would give it a good review...JUST ASKING....I am not sure if I trust the reviews on you-tube.....
it's good to be alert with reviews on youtube, because alot of them are just saying they like things because they got them for free. but He is honest with his reviews. :)
Hey, I was sent this product by the company but I have purchased things from them before and really like all the products Ive tried Iam completely honest with my reviews if I dont like something I will say so.
Hey Hottie Thanks for getting back me...I was getting worried that you may not have.....Your so pretty (is that ok) or you so hansom? What ever you look great......
soo I'm going to try this one out. I've tried a lot of foundations lately and I haven't really found one that's stuck out strongly to me. I also use the makeup forever so I'm to a big fan of that, it's the same for me. I feel like I can just put it on in the morning before I leave, and only have to retouch it like once.
But thanks for yet another amazing video and I love the eyelook in this video.

If you have a pink undertone to your skin you don't want to add more pink with the white/pink untone foundation. You want to neutralize it, not make your face pinker.
It actually depends. I have pink undertones in my skin, and I use a foundation with a pink undertone. I find if you Don't It looks like your wearing a mask. If you have DEEP undertones or have rosacia, and you want to cancel out your natural skin-tone. You would want to use yellow. Sooo, fayelikesbutter, you can speak for yourself but you don't know everything.
The foundation looks good.. but you can really see your wearing it. I'm not saying it looks fake(!).And you've said it yourself.. it's a full cover foundation for your face. I need a thing like that for in the winter.
I bought the stupid RF 105, which is the off-white one. It's rubbish. If you consider yourself "very fair" but don't want a white foundation, this one is useless. It is basically white with hardly any colour to it at all. And 120 is still too dark for anyone really really fair! Useless! I can only suggest mixing them up.
Do you think this would be equal to high-coverage foundations made to cover skin problems, like Dermablend and Cover FX? I'm fair with NC15 skin and rosacea, and my fairness makes any redness stand out even more. I've tried MUFE and just about everything else and nothing covers enough. I was considering trying out the aforementioned specialty foundations but if this would work for that I'd be excited to try it out.
I love your reviews. Lots of detail, very descriptive, good lighting for swatches, no BS, very honest. :) I nearly got to a mac counter for the first time ever today but it was closed by the time we got there. Boohoo. I don't want to order online because I waste money on products that just don't match my skin or suit me. Thank you for taking the time to give us tips and make reviews. x
Illamasqua have actually posted real swatches of all the rich liquid foundation colours on their blog illamasqua(dot)blogspot(dot)com hopefully that should help.
You look especially stunning today - I adore the dark deep blue eyeshadow. One of my fav looks:) Thanks for this great review. You always seem to cover the very questions I have about the product...it is eerie how you do that! Thanks for the info and I WILL be buying some.
I have really dry skin... So I wonder if this dry your skin out or not? Is it oily? Or is it dry?

2. Yup I feel as though I can't trust the reveiws here on Youtube
3. Your makeup does appear a bit off, I'm guess where you supposed to have a beard and as a result of you shaving it's lighter than the rest of your face and the foundation just doesn't help it.

Sounds like your grasping at straws to try and say something bad about me.

i agree with some of the other comments that say your foundation looks too heavy. normally looks better!! x

Does anyone else think he kinda looks like Ashley from Charm School (on VH1)? Lol... That's not a bad thing though! She's gorgeous. :)

I uswually love your make-up , but I think your foundation looks "masky"
It may be too full coverage for you - you have beautiful skin!

I agree it isnt something I would wear everyday but will be fantastic for nights out and photoshoots stuff like that x

your skin is amazing

haa you said its so amazing
soo I'm going to try this one out.

That was some bad advice..
FayeLikesButter 2 years ago
It actually depends. I have pink undertones in my skin, and I use a foundation with a pink undertone. I find if you Don't It looks like your wearing a mask. If you have DEEP undertones or have rosacia, and you want to cancel out your natural skin-tone. You would want to use yellow. Sooo, fayelikesbutter, you can speak for yourself but you don't know everything.

Hiya, Can you give a list of a few of the best and a few of the worst primers you've come across? I'd really appreciate it :))
Keep up the good work :))) xoxo

The foundation looks good.. but you can really see your wearing it. I'm not saying it looks fake(!).And you've said it yourself.. it's a full cover foundation for your face. I need a thing like that for in the winter.

I bought the stupid RF 105, which is the off-white one. It's rubbish. If you consider yourself "very fair" but don't want a white foundation, this one is useless. It is basically white with hardly any colour to it at all. And 120 is still too dark for anyone really really fair! Useless! I can only suggest mixing them up.
giantfuckingbagocrap 2 years ago
I agree they need to be mixed if you are very fair

Thank you for taking the time to give us tips and make reviews. x

You look especially stunning today - I adore the dark deep blue eyeshadow. One of my fav looks:) Thanks for this great review. You always seem to cover the very questions I have about the product...it is eerie how you do that! Thanks for the info and I WILL be buying some.

how would you compare this one to the mac liquid foundation?
missmoe427 2 years ago
It is more coverage than studio fix fluid and I much prefer it .
