China may be chronologically behind some 40+ years in space achievements compared to the US, but technologically speaking, they are catching up very fast. Another advantage for China is not having a 10 trillion dollar debt like we do here in the US. The Chinese are taking their time with this space program as the money becomes available, which is very wise of them. Funding a space program within a deficit budget isn't a good idea.
