Yup. The crack-thump report from Gibbs' M40A1 confirms that. At 600+ meters, really, a silencer just reduces muzzle velocity when speed and accuracy are required. You'd want that round landing into the target as quickly as possible.

Agree. There were 30+ terrorists in Saleem's camp which necessitated the need for a platoon of Navy SEALs to be deployed to take down the camp. In an operation that large and complex, it definitely required vehicles so I'm guessing that from 600 meters or less (since Gibbs did say he has made shots from that distance), he hopped a chopper or a buggy to meet up with his team.

Time constraints also made his rendezvous too incredible. They compressed a lot of action in so short a time.

Yep and that can be proven earlier in the episode when Vance mentioned the Navy SEALs being part of the operation. That's why I never believed Gibbs made that second shot to kill the terrorist standing guard at the door. There had to be a second SEAL sniper with Gibbs providing cover fire so Gibbs can run and meet up with his charges in the hallway.

This is the coolest NCIS scene ever. I downloaded this video and watched 100 times. I just love Gibbs and his 10 km snipe with a clean headshot. When i get older im gonna be a marine sniper and get that kind of accuracy. It was also a great performance from every member of the cast as they played their roles really welll

Correct. The longest shot Gibbs has made (assuming he's using his own M40A1 => "Kill Ari Pt. I and II") using a full metal jacket, moly -coated, boat-tailed Lapua .306 round is 1,200 yds or about 1,100 meters.

Still not even half a mile away. Some snipers don't extreme need distances to make a kill shot. Gibbs can make that shot at 600 meters and still make the rendezvous in the hallway.
