(I can't believe that this isn't being watched more often, by more people. I think they deserve a much greater recognition for their art. Especially "Runaway" is such a magic piece of art .. and this performance is just .. mind-blowing. I just love it!!)

I'm just saying, songs aren't like sports teams, you can't just pick one and route for it. There are various criteria, and as far as I could tell one of yours was to 'evoke strong emotion', which is completely subjective. And in wondering why people didn't share your take on this, your best explanation seemed to be that other people are emotionally handicapped...

People like Coldplay because they probably deem it a pleasant enough background music whereas The National evokes a myriad of different strong emotions some of which some people aren't able to cope with.
