WHATEVER IS THE BEST FOR AMERICA!!! BUT THIS I KNOW--WE MUST FIND A NEW ENERGY SOURCE AND START TO IMPLEMENT IT SLOWLY INTO OUR SOCIETY WHICH WILL TAKE AN ESTIMATED 50 YEARS TO COMPLETE!!
ok, i love aaron tippin don't get me wrong. love his message of working hard for you own money, being honest, etc.
but this song is just dumb. we don't have enough oil in our own reserves to run our own economy. we need to develop green energy or build nuclear plants.
adding more carbon to the atmosphere isn't helping the earth. neither are spills like BP's.
@kuwinsitall - Where do you get your information? How would you know unless you allow them to drill and explore. Some of the "estimates" of how much oil there was in drilling locations has been vastly underestimated. The point of this song & video is this...why should we buy our oil from others when we have our own right here in the US?
PS-Alt energy & nuclear is great...but the whole "carbon" thing is false & by limiting CO2 your limiting plants food supply...3rd grade science
Infor comes from the United States Geological Association. They've ascertained that the U.S. has 2% of the world's oil according to test drills and sonar samplings.
Even if it were underestimated, it's dirty shale oil like from the oil sands in Alberta, which is destructive to the environment and adds even more C02 to the atmosphere
The "carbon" thing is false? Have you ever heard of the greenhouse effect? Dude, take a science class. lol. Plants have more than enough now
@PAHeitmann ok first of all oil production has been in the decline in the united states sinces the 70`s and thats because oil finds peaked in the US in the 30`s. even if we open up deep water drilling and anwr we still do not have the oil reserves to satisfy our daily requirments. the oil in the rockies are oil shales which are extremely expensive to produce. what you fail to understand is what little oil is left in the US is extremely costly to produce
@rastaman24211 - Who are you to tell the oil companies whether they should make a profit or how much it is going to cost them to drill???? These companies are NOT the US Gov't! They actually have to......get this....make a profit!! So, if the politicians would just get out of their way and let them tap those resources....we'd greatly appreciate it!!
@PAHeitmann we have been declining in oil production since the 70`s because of financial reasons not government ones. if it was profitable to drill here drill now people already would be. also oil is a worldwide market. meaning oil is bought and sold at the same prices all over the globe. so i dont know how people think we are somehow going to lower the price of oil in the US while it stays high in the rest of the world
@rastaman24211 - Wrong, the gov't prevents companies from drilling. It is profitable....that's why the gov't doesn't want them to do it...lol To follow your own logic...if there then was more oil being drilled, pumped, refined SOMEWHERE in the world...then prices WORLDWIDE would go down....right? So isn't it in the best interest in the whole world that we drill???
@PAHeitmann much of the oil that is drilled here as it is goes to foreign refineries to be refined and than goes to other countries to be sold. and lastly what are you talking about the whole carbon thing is false? CO2 traps heat. anybody can do an expiriment and prove it. trust me ive done the expiriments. that global warming is real and that humans have contributed to it is pretty much accepted fact.
@rastaman24211 - Yes, the whole "global warming" based on CO2 is false. My daughters 3rd grade class teaches that....plants take the CO2 and make....wait for it....OXYGEN!!! IF and I meant to put that in caps IF the atmosphere is warming it might have to do with that big ball of gas out there that goes through changes just like everything else......and less with what comes out of our mouths.....or cars
@PAHeitmann the only real debate in the scientific community is how much global warming is caused by humans and how much is part of a natural process and also how much is the earths ability to bounce back from global warming. buy the numbers right now are off the chart. trust me im a scientist. my sources:the scientific community my friends who are oil geologists and myelf ny name is Tai McClellan and i currently work for the university of washington look me up and look up everything i said
@kuwinsitall Grow up china is drilling in or own back yard. Our goverment is sell the rights to china to drill. Because we owe china money we borrowed, because of our own goverment we be come slaves to other countries. I say screw them and drill what is ours, we have enough oil in this country for 200 years. stop being a slave to other countries
Might be a dumb question, but how many people here are actual drillers? Not liberal environmental nazis. Since this BP blowout ive had at least 5 incidents where people vandalized my rig. Im not even drilling for oil, I do mainly water wells with the occasional gas well. People need to pull their heads out of their asses before they start babbling about things they dont have a clue about.
ok heres the thing i believe that BP did mess up but they are paying out millions to those undeserving of it...dont you worry BP is picking up the cost...im for drilling and always will be...and not only that they LEGALLY didnt have to clean it up...it was in international waters...they could tell everyone to go fuck themselves but they didnt.
Deepwater drilling technology has not arrived. Big Fail. Midwater and shallowwater Ok, but if you can't shut that bastard in after three weeks, you can't drill it. We need to proceed slowly and thoughtfully if we are going expand domestic offshore. There will be plenty of workover jobs down south after we overhaul MMS and run cement bond logs on every existing well in the US.
we dont need oil, there are alot of other sources of energy if we look hard enough. and alternitave energies will solve all of the problems this guy is singing about.
@atomichippy Chippy....if that were true it would already be mainstream. Do you really think that if there was a "free" alternative source of energy, that was equally as powerful, some company wouldn't have brought it to market and be making more money that Bill Gates??? You really think that people are just saying "I love paying $2.75 per gallon!"
Hey everybody! Feel free to come down to the Gulf Coast and help us clean some of this oil up. We got folks losing their livelihoods down here with each passing day.
@TheMoosehammer - It looks like the ocean and BP are doing a pretty good job all on their own.... And it sounds like your a bit on the dramatic side. No ones lost their livelihood yet.
@PAHeitmann We've got a lot of shrimpers down here on the coast that would beg to differ. Considering over half our tourist reservations have been canceled, I don't think I'm being dramatic in the least.
I'm guessing PAHeitmann and Aaron Tippin are out on the Gulf Coast preparing to pay pennance for their sins and clean up the consequences of "drill, baby, drill". At the very least, you guys should be wearing a paper bag over your heads for rank stupidity.
@Mark2756042 - Well, let's see.....1 rig out of over 800 has a problem in how many decades and we're the ones who are sinners who should be wearing a paper bag....really? Look accidents happen and that's a pretty good record. Oh and it looks like the spill is breaking up and getting smaller(the ocean does that naturally). Looks like you aren't going to have your big disaster to point to.
@PAHeitmann One rig is apparently all it takes to case untold damage to the economy and environment. As for the "ocean breaking up the spill naturally", sure....in about 50,000 years. I don't think the ocean's natural solvent powers are gonna kick in soon enough to help resurrect both the Louisiana seafood economy and the entire Gulf Coast's tourism economy ranging from the Mississippi casinos to Panama City's spring break beaches.
@Spectre11B This is the biggest spill in US history. And now, what 3+ weeks later we are JUST starting to see SOME oil come to shore. Most of the oil that is leaking evaporates or is "chewed up" by the ocean. Oil is a part of nature. All the companies are doing is taking it out of the ground!! If they didn't it would come out all on it's own. And if the gov't would allow them to drill in shallow water, instead of deep water, they would have had this fixed a long time ago....
@PAHeitmann I just want to commend you for not disavowing anything to do with drill baby drill. Almost every other republican youtuber has already deleted their videos.
So how is that oil evaporating working out? You do realize this will probably be the worst oil disaster in the history of the world (in terms of revenue lost and environmental damage)?
@Spectre11B -31 years ago the IXTOC spill "dumped" 5x the amount that has spilled into the Gulf from "BP" spill. There were cries that the area would become a wasteland..turns out a YEAR later life was back to normal. Nature takes care of itself. It's arrogant to think that we have to somehow "fix" this. Oil is a natural substance found in nature. Companies just take it out of the ground. And.....(if the idiots would get out of the way) they could drill in shallow water & not have these problems
@atomichippy None. However, those technologies can't replace EVERYTHING we use oil for. And there are ways that those energy sources affect the environment.
@PAHeitmann 2 spills that we'll still be cleaning up in 22 years, too. I'd actually have no problem with drilling if we still didn't believe that deregulated business knows best. I'm sure a lot of us would still push for loosely regulated practices of any kind even after the last 2 years.
@shotten99 - Here are the facts....spills account for only 5% of the oil that ends up in the ocean. The famous Exxon spill wouldn't have happened if that captain hadn't fallen asleep. And if we were drilling here in the USA we wouldn't have to have it shipped here either!! And regulation really helped with the housing problem!! Whenever the Federal gov't gets involved it usually screws things up....
@PAHeitmann Apparently you've missed the details of Alan Greenspan ignoring the warning signs of a housing bubble. But I digress: it was the deregulation/repealing of Glass Stegall that opened the floodgates. Ask yourself this question: Would you use an elevator regulated like the banks were? How about take an asprin made with the same deregulated madness? Do you understand the costs of cleaning of the Gulf of Mexico? Do you know what that will do to tourism, fishing, and the environment?
@shotten99 The housing prob we face was not caused solely by Mr Greenspan. It was caused by Dem's in Congress regulating the housing market. A capitalist society you has checks and balances. If someone makes a bad elevator, asprin, etc...and they cause people harm they can sue. Point is that Gov't currently doesn't operate like people in the "real world". Only the Gov't can operate and LOSE money, business can't! BP will pay for the cleanup and we will have to see what it does to the Gulf.
@PAHeitmann I don't recall any signifiicant housing changes coming from the 1993-1994's Democratic Congress or the GOP bending to the wishes of the Democrats on much of anything from 94-06. Do you? I do see an unregulated ganster mentality of the financial sector and overall big bussiness raping the economy however with a Supply Side Fed standing lost, blind, and naked while responding to the damage being done. Good luck on BP paying for the damage. $100 a barrell and 4 bucks a gallon soon.
@PAHeitmann It's so easy to make excuses from home when you don't have to see it first hand, isn't it?
The damn thing's the size of Maryland. It's shown up on US shores, and it's only going to get worse considering it's leaking two gallons a second. This isn't global warming, you can't try and ignore it because you can't see it. This oil is real, it's visible, and it's toxic as hell.
@Sprocketman Really? Considering how long this has been going on and how much the MSM wants this to be an example of why we shouldn't drill they haven't been able to show much. Are you trying to tell me that if there was ALL this oil on the beaches the media wouldn't show it? PS- "Global warming" has been proven to be a hoax....in case you missed it.
@PAHeitmann There have been lots of other oil spills, but they haven't happened in the US you you didn't hear about it. I do agree that as far as large oil spills go the US ha a pretty good track record.
I don't know where you get your information from but they have been saying that we are going to run out of oil FOR YEARS!!! Oh no!! We're going to run out of oil in ___ years!! Then that date passes and they have to come up with a new date. It's kind of like the people who stand on the corner and says the end is near!!!!
Oil is NOT a fossil fuel. Unless you believe ALL the dinosaurs died in the ocean or in the Middle East..... look it up
we have more oil in alaska the gulf of mexico and texas than any other countrys full output im not against the alternatives like solar power but i believe we need to build more nuclear plants and drill more and dig more coal damn the people that dont want us to if you havent noticed there the ones the damn government is keeping checks in the mail for them i dont know bout yall but im sick of that little bit that komes out of my check for sum sorry ass to live off of
First- Isn't it up to the company that is footing the bill to do the drilling to decide if it is worth the cost to drill? So THEY decide if it is stupid, not us...
And reserves are for the military to use in time of war....look it up.
i think they should drill in the usa that way the economy goes up and whats good for the usa is good for canada and i also think canada should build its own refinerys so we can save money on our gas . but the fact is the goverment doesn't care about our wallets they care about theres
just right here in in great big 'ol Tx. there are still so many places to drill! just get 'er done!! to he** with buying what we already have and get the oilfields back up and runnin' right here! puts 100's of people back to work all over the place just by getting the rigs we already have right here in Tx. up and runnin' again!! Hope to see this on CMT real soon! Thanks a lot Aaron!! love the song and you!!
@hellspkers22 Yes and there is a lot of drilling in ND ( look up Bakken) and in PA ( Marcell>>not sure if I spelled that right) We need to put Americans back to work . Thumbs up to you!!
Its funny how some of these left wing types keep crying "Conserve conserve" but they never say anymore but solving the trouble.
I think if some people in Washington had it there way we'd all be driving Ladas and Yugos like in the USSR and Communist Poland. Time to put the pressure on Obama now.
USSR and communist Poland don't exist anymore, USSR is now Russia (the federation of) and Poland is in the EU with its own democratic government. So all in all that undermines you argument if you had said "like they did drive in the USSR..." that would have been a better choice or words.
Exactly! All you hear from some of these left wing types "Conserve,Conserve,". I think if some of these people in washington had it there way we'd all be driving Lada's and Yugos(those old Soviet cars).
Then you hear em cry "well... uh... its going take 10 years etc" I say, at this rate its gonna take 30 unill you STFU and do something. Time put the preassure on Obama now.
Actually, drilling in the Middle East is really cheaper than starting a new drilling plan in the Usa. But the two of them are short period and short sighted solutions... Oil is a finished source, but our energy plan is based on a infinite point of view. STOP THE POLLUTION! we need to develop new clean energies, and now. We need an energy revolution, ok, but drilling more and building new nuclear plans is not a revolution!! And we need to save money, so we also have to change our stupid healtcare
You know what i dont want to hear it look at everything before the ice age? it was warm then cold ... now it is just warmin back up... so what ... notin we can do bout it!! USA...USA...USA
Nuclear is the solution it polutes very little and its waste can be delt with. No other "green" energy is as powerful and reliable as nuclear is. And we have enough oil in oil shale alone to feul our country for 40 years plus all are other sources. If we use those sources in the meantime while we develop better nuclear power we can still make it through this problem.
put it in the old mines that are 2 miles under ground and concrete it up like they do now it takes I believe 50 years to use up the power of a nuclear reactor till you hafta put new back in
what happens if there is an oil spill when they are drilling off shore. i think we should focus on an alternate source of energy especially for cars. honda already has a car that is hydrogen powered. and there is a new car that runs off compressed air.
The biggest spill ever was in the Persian Gulf & there has only been 1 spill in the gulf which was 30 years ago! Of the spills that were over 30,000,000 gallons, only 1 was from the US. And no one who is asking to drill is saying that we shouldn't actively develop alternatives. We need to do both!!
In order to develop a sound energy policy, PA is right in that BOTH need to be done. It is agitating to discuss these topics with ideologicals (read: liberals).
For what it is worth, more than 30,000 gallons of oil is "leaked" from the earth annually. An alternative source of energy is terrific, however it is impractical. Building new cars does not force people like myself, who use their vehicle/vehicles for a living, to buy those new cars. If you were to enact regulation pursuing such a measure, you would then face the displacement of auto mechanics who are not certified to work on the newer technology, displace those in the field of oil production.
victory from what. he said they had nuclear weapons. did they find anything? NO. we are still in iraq for no reason at all. spending our money for no reason.
Victory is making Iraq stable so that after we leave Iran or anyone else doesn't go in there and take over and slaughter the citizens that now have control of their country. And EVERYONE, including the Clintons, Kerry, Teddy K, England, France, etc...., said he had them. What they said was that he was LOOKING for Nuclear weapons. So the intelligence they ALL had was wrong, he moved them(to Saudi Arabia)or hid them.We are there fighting Al-Qaeda, or do you think we are fighting the Iraqis?
To my knowledge, I do not think anyone ever explicitly said "nuclear weapons." The terminology used was weapons of mass destruction, and some of the most lethal and easily deployed (and hidden) WMDs are chemical and biological. Before you continue to speak ignorantly about the state of foreign affairs in the USA, perhaps you will want to do some research on the nerve agent Sarin. Over 40 Tons of Sarin was found in Iraq, however due to its short shelf life, most of it was expired. Dangerous.
We never said they had nukes. They had WMDs. The first definition of WMDs was the bombings in the Spainsh Civil War. Iraq had nevre gasses that were used in the Iran Iraq War 1980-1988. And victory is a stable country that can defend its self.
Gas prices went up partly because of Bush's invasion of Iraq which Tippin cheered on. All the experts including Bush's own administration say drilling here won't help oil prices, even after the 10 to 20 years it takes. How's that for realityville, you inbred southern losers
It is such a shame that the people who disagree with an idea cannot do so without insults and name calling. They also have bad facts. None of what you have said is true Mr.Hands. But don't let that stop you from ranting and raving and showing how childish, uninformed and judgmental you are.
First, I am not a redneck. You however have shown that you are a judgmental bastard who will decide something about someone without knowing anything about them. Kind of like spouting false information about something you know nothing about. This is not propaganda, this is fact. And if this was the America of our founding fathers we wouldn't be telling people what they can/can't do with their land.
And I'll just add Tippin is a coward did he ever serve his country? No but sure was a cheerleader for Bush who went to Iraq but NEVER went after Bin Laden
Did you ever serve your country? No probably not.... And yes Bush did go after Bin Laden & he is still going after him.....remember Afghanistan? Obama seems to be the one who wants to negotiate with terrorists. That seems to be kind of a coward to me.
I didn't call him any names. And God help us all....including the people who were fooled into voting for him. P.S.- I find it kind of funny, saying I shouldn't call someone names, coming from someone who was doing all the name calling and probably disrespected Bush every chance you got....here's one for you- Hypocrite.....
were is he searching for bin laden. i havent heard any news about that. anyways the bush and bin laden family have had relations in the past. its in the micheal moore documentary.
Why do you think we went to Afghanistan?I'm not saying we've done the best job finding him,but I also don't think that we know where he is and are letting him live. You'd really have to hate the USA to think we would let him get away with what he did. As far as the "documentary"(propaganda fim)you should watch"Fahrenhype 9/11".You can also do a search for 59 deceits in his movie & you will find the evidence about Bin Laden,etc..That is IF you really want the truth...
Michael Moore is an idiot. Have you seen Sicko? Someone who takes care (or lack thereof) of himself like Michael Moore does absolutely can not bitch about healthcare in America (Sicko). A documentary is just what it says it is. The reasons we are in Iraq and Afghanistan extend far beyond what you, most likely an average citizen, would understand.
If you watch Micheal Moore and believe him you are very nieve. He says he wants universal healthcare but won't even take care of himself. He is a socialist who bends the truth to try to make people hate America.
What really makes me mad is how Obama and his liberal pals say that we wont get a drop of that oil for at least 10 years.
So what? What if alternative fuels fail. What if we cant find a feasable solution in the next ten years. What if they are too expensive for the average American to use. At least we'll be better off ten years from now than if we put all of our eggs in the basket of alternative fuels.
Obama's Energy Plan is such shit.. I'm sorry Plug-In Vehicles??? Where does he want to get the electricity for that? lol.. Coal plants. He sure as hell doesn't want Nuclear, Hydro or any other "Renewable" energy.. Inturn.. People who cannot afford Hybrid Plug-in Vehicles HAVE to pay for those that do. (The rich) By having their Electric bill go up.. The "Power Grid" is Infinite meaning One side to the other ALL Power plants feed into it.. I'm for Renewable Resources Like Nuclear. DRILL NOW!
I dont mind that you drill, its dangerous when you support mass drilling and cheap oil. havent you heard what WHO says? worldwide two million die each year cause of pollution. even in canadian rural areas thousands get sick on lungs. maybe you wouldnt need strong cars like SUVs, if you wouldnt be so obese.
ride a bicycle or get a horse. oh, you cant cause then you will ruin your fancy armani dress, huh? well mongolians do this everyday. go and check their largest horse races.
Just so you all know, we won't see a drop of that oil for 10 years because it takes that long to process it. The oil will also probably more than likely go into the international market, so we won't get to keep all the oil or all of the money made from it. Just putting that out there.
drilling will commit us to at least 30 years more gas dependence(while there are plenty of other choices), it will create a higher risk for off shore oil leaks, it will drain the american economy (how long to pay those drills off if you expect the oil to be cheaper), oil refineries in places like the gulf o mexico are always subject to the crap weather that shut down the pipes creating the massive sellers market that allowed for those 6.00 price spikes. i pay 2.26 in ga. damn cheap
We will need oil for a long time because oil is used for more than fuel.More oil leaks through natural cracks than through drilling.Oil co's pay for drilling not the economy. And it would reduce the transportation costs so.... The whole point of drilling is to stop giving money to people who hate us.Even if it doesn't affect prices at the pump, it would be USA made!
1) true, oil is used more than fuel, but nothing oil brings is possible only from oil. (try me)
2) more oil is leaked from drilling plus the natural cracks than just leaving the natural cracks.
3) are oil companies not a part of the economy? if not then every dollar you give them is siphoned out of the american economy. thanks but yes, the transportatin costs for oil drop. but what about alternative energy? the usa would be made (to go thru this again when our oil runs out).
2)don't know where u get that info from-my info says that more oil leaks than is "spilled"
3)EVERYTHING is part of the economy & "we" own the oil companies(through stock)
4)Of course we should look for alt energy(see video) & I am sure someone will find a usable one SOMEDAY & will become a billionaire. That isn't a reason not to drill while we are waiting...right?
1) plastics and styrofoam (or simalar structured materials) can be made from cellulose. rubber/latex can also be made from plant materiels, though the vulcanization prossess currently utilizes chemicals made widely availible from the companies that own the rubber plants and chemicals already. nail polish; specify what. paint remover works specificly for the pant, change the paint, change the thinner. fertilizer; specify what. inks and dyes have been around forever.
2) i used logic (you should try it) to say that adding the risk of offshore drilling to the pre existing risk of natural leaks increases the overall risk of any oil leaks
3) so i pwnded you
4) we already have the technology. why wait? when would it be time to stop, when the last gas is used up?
people like you just do not seem to get it. It will take us several decades to become relient on renewable energy sources (Nuclear, wind, and solar) so why not drill here instead of funding nations that hate us. It won't drain our economy because more supply means demand goes down creating cheaper prices(and no import costs)and since oil is tied to every sector of our economy, it will help boost us. Meanwhile we build nuclear power plants and become mainly relient on it and other renewable types
If you want to open up our waters for drilling and you want a REAL conservative in the White house, vote Bob Barr in 08. Besides supporting offshore drilling, he's tough on immigration, completely opposes socialized medicine, and will balance the budget unlike McCain's reckless plan which will create a larger than $500 budget deficit in his first year alone.
I read with interest all the negative comments and did not see one reason for NOT drilling here and now. I think we all agree that it's not the TOTAL solution, but it is a good place to start. And if you don't like Aaron Tippin's musical style, I can understand. I just happen to think he rocks :)
Its really unfortunate that there are those out there who don't really care what's happening here. This song is spot on. About the only thing we could add to it would be to tear up the NAFTA paperwork, and start actually taxing anything imported to this country.
I have to wonder about the people who say "Even if we drill now we wont see production for 10 years", well maybe if Clinton had set it in motion when he was in office instead of training Monica than we would have it now.
Of course we could look at starting now as having it going for our children.....
haha, this sums up the inbred population of Umericuh. I saw all the trash singing along to this song on FOX News and all my friends and I just put on some mullets and danced along.
P.S. I especially like the drill here drill now response shouted by the kids and people, that's the icing on this horrendous crap cake. :)
It seems that all they can do is call names. People who don't want to drill don't come back with facts or opinions, they call people names like redneck or inbred. Aren't these people supposed to be better than us? I guess all of us who want to drill in the USA are white trash, redneck, inbreds,....
yup you pretty much summed it up correctly. I mean why keep drilling ? why not smart car here, smart car now... you know, something pointing to the future.
cuba296, I think we're just saying do it ALL now. I'd love to drive a hydrogen fuel cell car and heat/cool my house with solar power. We're not quite there yet. In the meantime, why NOT drill?
sorry, i ramble and my grammer and spelling are lacking, im not very good at typing, i had agreat discussion with you, and hope you all the best, arron tippins song has wasted enough of my time peace
level {monsanto} sell our children ritallin b/c they wont behave {pfizer} if this stuff isnt wrong then what is? and they exploit children {wal-mart} also these greedy corporations or our main represenatives to the world what does that show to everyone else, you know all the other people in the world who arent americans, you know the ones who matter less b/c thier not us
also the dems and the rep. and the neo nazis are all the same, same coin diffrent side, you assume to much when you think i dont know whos responsible, who do you think funds the dems and the rep.? corporations, the same ones give money to both sides, and btw big business, is a cutesy way of refering to coporate entities who will do anything requried to make capital, they,ll move to foreign countrys , lie about thier worth {enron} destroy the the enviroment {exxon} and modify our food
oil was created at 2 intervals 90mya (million years ago} aned 150mya, oil is not being created now and has not been created since, we will run out, and i dont believe global warming is anything but the sun, i know the pollution from oil does effect the air we breathe and the evry other aspect of our ecosystems, again i believ glabal warming is due to the sun, anyway we will run out of oil it is not renewable or regenerating you look that up{preferable not on fox or cmt}, our children need an alt
we just gave big business 700,000,000,ooo dollars not the government us me and you and you cant even file bankruptcy if you need to, you patriotism is afarce, patriotism is the last call of tyrants , just because i question this government doesnt make me anything but a human looking for a better way for our next generation, you have been lied to and you will continue to believe as long as you are scared and your ego and arrogance get in the way
What planet are you living on? I am the one questioning the gov't preventing PRIVATE companies from conducting business on US soil!I love the USA, not it's politicians.
BTW that 700B went to cover poor policies that Dem's backed(Fannie/Freddie).If you are going to criticize, it is best to use facts. You want the gov't to continue to stand in the way of getting resources here in the USA.Who's siding with the tyrants?
you need to take a geology class , if youd rather have wal-mart instead of a local 5 and dime big business is great, if like knowing little children in poor countrys make your cheap plastic crap so you can go and buy it on credit at your local "big business store" then you are a true humanitarian, in fact you might love someone more than yourself, your ego and arrogance are amazing, patriotism is the last call of tyrants, its a good thing our fore fathers didnt feel patriotic towards the king
Please be specific about what FACTS I am wrong about.I'm not sure what geology you think I am wrong about, but I am all ears.
As for our forefathers, they revolted over being OVERTAXED & controlled by royalty.I completely agree!I want our gov't to get out of the way of private citizens!I don't want the gov't controlling businesses or "spreading around the wealth"!We do that just fine on our own MrO playing Robin Hood.If gov't would stop taxing businesses they would stop leaving....
swho23: I agree with you that as Americans, we need to cut waste. We are entirely too wasteful in our lifestyles (though maybe the current fuel prices are stopping that), but your interest in eliminating gas powered sports confused me. I'm not a fan of nascar or any other such sports but it seems like a small thing to worry about compared with all the other aspects of our lives that could be changed. Even if you got a million letters to congress to that effect I doubt it would do any good.
Drilling is not the answer. We need to start thinking rationally about how we use petroleum products. I hope the first thing Obama does is ban ALL gasoline powered sports! They are a complete waste of a far too valuable resource that we should not be taking for granted. Wanna see gas prices go down? Then stop the pointless usage of it!
Please think about the true effect of this on our children and how their lives will be if we keep wasting everything.
corporate greed. we as a species on this planet do not need oil to live or survive, we only believe that because of enculteration, if it would have been a money maker we would have drilled our own oil but instead we did the easy thing and took the middle easts oil, thus again doing the easiest thing. this drill here drill now bs, is this we dont drill here because of the enviromental affects and the fact it wouldnt do us much good, with the amount we use just for cheap plastic crap from wal-mart
PLEASE stop with the whole "Big Business"/environment thing...Business is business, just because a business becomes successful it magically becomes bad. So it's ok to be in business as long as you don't become TOO successful? The environment thing is what is BS...Oil is PART of the environment!Drilling actually HELPS the environment.Look this up...unless you just want to believe what you have been told.
Shett- you seem to hate the USA & BB,go move to 3rd world so u can live without all this!
live in shelters, {tents are petroleum products}, oh thats right americans are to fat and lazy to be uncomfortable, this country was great when the indians were here, this country was great when it was mountain men and pioneers and settlers, now its nothing but how easy we can have it. watch television control the temp. and eat when your not hungry, other countrys come to us because we dont allow them to flourish economically we dont allow them their own personal resources we take it thruogh
You have NO IDEA what you are talking about!!! You have been fed some kind of BS or are living in the twilight zone. Other people come here because the leaders of THEIR own country don't allow them to flourish. They are called monarchy/socialist/communist countries. Their people are not free and their gov't control their lives. That's why they come here. But don't let anything like history or facts get in the way of your hatred & ignorance.
guess im a hippie one who hunts fishes and traps, you my friend are ridiculous why should i bow down before some bullcrap patriotism jest? im an american i love this country and its people as well as everyone else on this planet, even though some are what you consider an enemy. how bout this those of you who have to have wal-mart, mcdonalds, the gap, etc. leave you can go consume in china hows that i care more about the physical aspect of this country than the fiscal, and btw why shouldnt we
I didn't say bow down & I didn't say you had to change your lifestyle. If you like living like that..cool. Just don't judge the way I live & think you are superior. BTW THEY are the ones who consider US enemies. This country is STILL beautiful & if the Gov't would stop taxing business to death they would come back. Look up corporate tax rate & see that USA has 2nd highest. That's why business goes overseas...Gov't GET OUT OF THE WAY!! I say we have another Tea Party!!!
anything made from oil weve done without for millenia and now b/c of our "progress" with oil we cant drink from a stream or even swim init. our kids dont need more oil they need pure pristine wilderness thats where we come from . we are not a petroleum based biological unit we are h2o based, man, cant we do with just alittle less, just because we were born in the us doesnt give us the right to not be a little uncomfortable, we are all on this rock together, red white yellow and black
Sounds like we have a 60's hippie here. Maybe we should all live in tents and not use any electricity either. I don't know what stream or lake you are drinking or swimming in. This "we are killing the environment" thing is funny. It is all about money, fear & guilt. We (the USA)are the most generous, caring, selfless people on the planet. That's why when there is a disaster somewhere they ALL come to US! Anyone who thinks otherwise can LEAVE! Why can't we use our OWN resources? Tell me that!
dont drive so much im a country boy and all i need is the wild to live and live good, oil is uneccessary wake up when you drive why dont you ride a bike instead dont drill cuz some ass singer told you to do without and be strong you dont need oil to live on this planet
You may not need it but most everyone else does. It's not just in the gas for you car it is in LOTS of things. See below for more but plastics, tar, rubber, etc... do a search for everything oil is used for....
a country boy can survive because he doesnt need oil or government all he needs is a bow and a garden. im a country boy and i dont want them to drill i can survive in my backyard and the wilderness surrounding me i dont need a car or electricity wake up and relise we dont need any of it to live the life
why cant we do without a little? this thinking will lead us to more pollution and enviromental harm. Why cant we act and work locally? we dont need more oil we need to do without why did country music go from growing a garden and working hard and being independant to we must think like big business?
Cars today are made with strict exhaust requirements & oil is part of the environment. If we don't pump it out it comes out naturally. Country music is all about farming, hard work & YES being independent from FOREIGN oil. Why get something from countries that hate us when we have it here in the USA? BTW...Country/Rock/Rap/etc.. music, John Deere, Mack Trucks, Verizon are ALL big business. Just harder to hate or be jealous of. Wake up people it's us(private) vs them(politicians)They work for us!
You really want to go that route? What will happen to you when there's a drought, or natural disaster and you have to feed your family? I am tired of people blaming Big Business for everything when it's Big Business that makes our lives so cushy. Chick-Fil-A wants you to eat more chicken! OMG they must be the Antichrist! Stop Big Chicken now!
WHATEVER IS THE BEST FOR AMERICA!!! BUT THIS I KNOW--WE MUST FIND A NEW ENERGY SOURCE AND START TO IMPLEMENT IT SLOWLY INTO OUR SOCIETY WHICH WILL TAKE AN ESTIMATED 50 YEARS TO COMPLETE!!

ok, i love aaron tippin don't get me wrong. love his message of working hard for you own money, being honest, etc.
but this song is just dumb. we don't have enough oil in our own reserves to run our own economy. we need to develop green energy or build nuclear plants.
adding more carbon to the atmosphere isn't helping the earth. neither are spills like BP's.
kuwinsitall 1 year ago
@kuwinsitall - Where do you get your information? How would you know unless you allow them to drill and explore. Some of the "estimates" of how much oil there was in drilling locations has been vastly underestimated. The point of this song & video is this...why should we buy our oil from others when we have our own right here in the US?
PS-Alt energy & nuclear is great...but the whole "carbon" thing is false & by limiting CO2 your limiting plants food supply...3rd grade science
PAHeitmann 1 year ago 5
@PAHeitmann
Dude, take a science class. lol. Plants have more than enough now
kuwinsitall 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann ok first of all oil production has been in the decline in the united states sinces the 70`s and thats because oil finds peaked in the US in the 30`s. even if we open up deep water drilling and anwr we still do not have the oil reserves to satisfy our daily requirments. the oil in the rockies are oil shales which are extremely expensive to produce. what you fail to understand is what little oil is left in the US is extremely costly to produce
rastaman24211 10 months ago
@rastaman24211 - Who are you to tell the oil companies whether they should make a profit or how much it is going to cost them to drill???? These companies are NOT the US Gov't! They actually have to......get this....make a profit!! So, if the politicians would just get out of their way and let them tap those resources....we'd greatly appreciate it!!
PAHeitmann 10 months ago
@PAHeitmann we have been declining in oil production since the 70`s because of financial reasons not government ones. if it was profitable to drill here drill now people already would be. also oil is a worldwide market. meaning oil is bought and sold at the same prices all over the globe. so i dont know how people think we are somehow going to lower the price of oil in the US while it stays high in the rest of the world
rastaman24211 10 months ago
@rastaman24211 - Wrong, the gov't prevents companies from drilling. It is profitable....that's why the gov't doesn't want them to do it...lol To follow your own logic...if there then was more oil being drilled, pumped, refined SOMEWHERE in the world...then prices WORLDWIDE would go down....right? So isn't it in the best interest in the whole world that we drill???
PAHeitmann 10 months ago
@PAHeitmann much of the oil that is drilled here as it is goes to foreign refineries to be refined and than goes to other countries to be sold. and lastly what are you talking about the whole carbon thing is false? CO2 traps heat. anybody can do an expiriment and prove it. trust me ive done the expiriments. that global warming is real and that humans have contributed to it is pretty much accepted fact.
rastaman24211 10 months ago
@rastaman24211 - Yes, the whole "global warming" based on CO2 is false. My daughters 3rd grade class teaches that....plants take the CO2 and make....wait for it....OXYGEN!!! IF and I meant to put that in caps IF the atmosphere is warming it might have to do with that big ball of gas out there that goes through changes just like everything else......and less with what comes out of our mouths.....or cars
PAHeitmann 10 months ago
@PAHeitmann the only real debate in the scientific community is how much global warming is caused by humans and how much is part of a natural process and also how much is the earths ability to bounce back from global warming. buy the numbers right now are off the chart. trust me im a scientist. my sources:the scientific community my friends who are oil geologists and myelf ny name is Tai McClellan and i currently work for the university of washington look me up and look up everything i said

Might be a dumb question, but how many people here are actual drillers? Not liberal environmental nazis. Since this BP blowout ive had at least 5 incidents where people vandalized my rig. Im not even drilling for oil, I do mainly water wells with the occasional gas well. People need to pull their heads out of their asses before they start babbling about things they dont have a clue about.
stompinmick 1 year ago
ok heres the thing i believe that BP did mess up but they are paying out millions to those undeserving of it...dont you worry BP is picking up the cost...im for drilling and always will be...and not only that they LEGALLY didnt have to clean it up...it was in international waters...they could tell everyone to go fuck themselves but they didnt.

Mark2756042 1 year ago
@Mark2756042 - Well, let's see.....1 rig out of over 800 has a problem in how many decades and we're the ones who are sinners who should be wearing a paper bag....really? Look accidents happen and that's a pretty good record. Oh and it looks like the spill is breaking up and getting smaller(the ocean does that naturally). Looks like you aren't going to have your big disaster to point to.
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann One rig is apparently all it takes to case untold damage to the economy and environment. As for the "ocean breaking up the spill naturally", sure....in about 50,000 years. I don't think the ocean's natural solvent powers are gonna kick in soon enough to help resurrect both the Louisiana seafood economy and the entire Gulf Coast's tourism economy ranging from the Mississippi casinos to Panama City's spring break beaches.

Spectre11B 1 year ago
@Spectre11B This is the biggest spill in US history. And now, what 3+ weeks later we are JUST starting to see SOME oil come to shore. Most of the oil that is leaking evaporates or is "chewed up" by the ocean. Oil is a part of nature. All the companies are doing is taking it out of the ground!! If they didn't it would come out all on it's own. And if the gov't would allow them to drill in shallow water, instead of deep water, they would have had this fixed a long time ago....
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann I just want to commend you for not disavowing anything to do with drill baby drill. Almost every other republican youtuber has already deleted their videos.
So how is that oil evaporating working out? You do realize this will probably be the worst oil disaster in the history of the world (in terms of revenue lost and environmental damage)?
Spectre11B 1 year ago
@Spectre11B -31 years ago the IXTOC spill "dumped" 5x the amount that has spilled into the Gulf from "BP" spill. There were cries that the area would become a wasteland..turns out a YEAR later life was back to normal. Nature takes care of itself. It's arrogant to think that we have to somehow "fix" this. Oil is a natural substance found in nature. Companies just take it out of the ground. And.....(if the idiots would get out of the way) they could drill in shallow water & not have these problems
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann and how many solar energy spills have we had? wind? hydroelectric?

@shotten99 Hmmmm 2 oil spills in 22 years out of how many oil operations???? Better avg than the chance of a airline crashing.....
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann 2 spills that we'll still be cleaning up in 22 years, too. I'd actually have no problem with drilling if we still didn't believe that deregulated business knows best. I'm sure a lot of us would still push for loosely regulated practices of any kind even after the last 2 years.
shotten99 1 year ago
@shotten99 - Here are the facts....spills account for only 5% of the oil that ends up in the ocean. The famous Exxon spill wouldn't have happened if that captain hadn't fallen asleep. And if we were drilling here in the USA we wouldn't have to have it shipped here either!! And regulation really helped with the housing problem!! Whenever the Federal gov't gets involved it usually screws things up....
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann Apparently you've missed the details of Alan Greenspan ignoring the warning signs of a housing bubble. But I digress: it was the deregulation/repealing of Glass Stegall that opened the floodgates. Ask yourself this question: Would you use an elevator regulated like the banks were? How about take an asprin made with the same deregulated madness? Do you understand the costs of cleaning of the Gulf of Mexico? Do you know what that will do to tourism, fishing, and the environment?
shotten99 1 year ago
@shotten99 The housing prob we face was not caused solely by Mr Greenspan. It was caused by Dem's in Congress regulating the housing market. A capitalist society you has checks and balances. If someone makes a bad elevator, asprin, etc...and they cause people harm they can sue. Point is that Gov't currently doesn't operate like people in the "real world". Only the Gov't can operate and LOSE money, business can't! BP will pay for the cleanup and we will have to see what it does to the Gulf.
PAHeitmann 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann I don't recall any signifiicant housing changes coming from the 1993-1994's Democratic Congress or the GOP bending to the wishes of the Democrats on much of anything from 94-06. Do you? I do see an unregulated ganster mentality of the financial sector and overall big bussiness raping the economy however with a Supply Side Fed standing lost, blind, and naked while responding to the damage being done. Good luck on BP paying for the damage. $100 a barrell and 4 bucks a gallon soon.
shotten99 1 year ago
@PAHeitmann It's so easy to make excuses from home when you don't have to see it first hand, isn't it?
The damn thing's the size of Maryland. It's shown up on US shores, and it's only going to get worse considering it's leaking two gallons a second. This isn't global warming, you can't try and ignore it because you can't see it. This oil is real, it's visible, and it's toxic as hell.
Sprocketman 1 year ago
@Sprocketman Really? Considering how long this has been going on and how much the MSM wants this to be an example of why we shouldn't drill they haven't been able to show much.

Nuclear is the solution it polutes very little and its waste can be delt with. No other "green" energy is as powerful and reliable as nuclear is. And we have enough oil in oil shale alone to feul our country for 40 years plus all are other sources. If we use those sources in the meantime while we develop better nuclear power we can still make it through this problem.

what happens if there is an oil spill when they are drilling off shore. i think we should focus on an alternate source of energy especially for cars. honda already has a car that is hydrogen powered. and there is a new car that runs off compressed air.
flash415 3 years ago
The biggest spill ever was in the Persian Gulf & there has only been 1 spill in the gulf which was 30 years ago! Of the spills that were over 30,000,000 gallons, only 1 was from the US. And no one who is asking to drill is saying that we shouldn't actively develop alternatives. We need to do both!!
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
In order to develop a sound energy policy, PA is right in that BOTH need to be done. It is agitating to discuss these topics with ideologicals (read: liberals).
hheat002 3 years ago
What about semi's ... Tractor's?? ...Planes?...Don't recall hydrogen or AIR beging able to produce torge nor HP
carledwardsnascar 3 years ago
For what it is worth, more than 30,000 gallons of oil is "leaked" from the earth annually. An alternative source of energy is terrific, however it is impractical. Building new cars does not force people like myself, who use their vehicle/vehicles for a living, to buy those new cars. If you were to enact regulation pursuing such a measure, you would then face the displacement of auto mechanics who are not certified to work on the newer technology, displace those in the field of oil production.
hheat002 3 years ago
victory from what. he said they had nuclear weapons. did they find anything? NO. we are still in iraq for no reason at all. spending our money for no reason.
flash415 3 years ago
Victory is making Iraq stable so that after we leave Iran or anyone else doesn't go in there and take over and slaughter the citizens that now have control of their country. And EVERYONE, including the Clintons, Kerry, Teddy K, England, France, etc...., said he had them. What they said was that he was LOOKING for Nuclear weapons. So the intelligence they ALL had was wrong, he moved them(to Saudi Arabia)or hid them.We are there fighting Al-Qaeda, or do you think we are fighting the Iraqis?
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
Its more likely the weapons were moved to Syria.
USAScommando666 3 years ago
To my knowledge, I do not think anyone ever explicitly said "nuclear weapons." The terminology used was weapons of mass destruction, and some of the most lethal and easily deployed (and hidden) WMDs are chemical and biological. Before you continue to speak ignorantly about the state of foreign affairs in the USA, perhaps you will want to do some research on the nerve agent Sarin. Over 40 Tons of Sarin was found in Iraq, however due to its short shelf life, most of it was expired. Dangerous.
hheat002 3 years ago
We never said they had nukes. They had WMDs. The first definition of WMDs was the bombings in the Spainsh Civil War. Iraq had nevre gasses that were used in the Iran Iraq War 1980-1988. And victory is a stable country that can defend its self.

Gas prices went up partly because of Bush's invasion of Iraq which Tippin cheered on. All the experts including Bush's own administration say drilling here won't help oil prices, even after the 10 to 20 years it takes. How's that for realityville, you inbred southern losers
thebreakinghands 3 years ago
It is such a shame that the people who disagree with an idea cannot do so without insults and name calling. They also have bad facts. None of what you have said is true Mr.Hands. But don't let that stop you from ranting and raving and showing how childish, uninformed and judgmental you are.
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
you rednecks have been spreading your propaganda for years. We will stand up to you and you can cry about it all you want. This is America, pal
thebreakinghands 3 years ago
First, I am not a redneck. You however have shown that you are a judgmental bastard who will decide something about someone without knowing anything about them. Kind of like spouting false information about something you know nothing about. This is not propaganda, this is fact. And if this was the America of our founding fathers we wouldn't be telling people what they can/can't do with their land.
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
Obama and the Democratic congress will let you know about your land
thebreakinghands 3 years ago
And I'll just add Tippin is a coward did he ever serve his country? No but sure was a cheerleader for Bush who went to Iraq but NEVER went after Bin Laden
thebreakinghands 3 years ago
Did you ever serve your country? No probably not.... And yes Bush did go after Bin Laden & he is still going after him.....remember Afghanistan? Obama seems to be the one who wants to negotiate with terrorists. That seems to be kind of a coward to me.
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
Obama is now the Commander elect of the US military. Please do not call him names, it is unpatriotic and un-American.
thebreakinghands 3 years ago
I didn't call him any names. And God help us all....including the people who were fooled into voting for him. P.S.- I find it kind of funny, saying I shouldn't call someone names, coming from someone who was doing all the name calling and probably disrespected Bush every chance you got....here's one for you- Hypocrite.....
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
were is he searching for bin laden. i havent heard any news about that. anyways the bush and bin laden family have had relations in the past. its in the micheal moore documentary.
flash415 3 years ago
Why do you think we went to Afghanistan?I'm not saying we've done the best job finding him,but I also don't think that we know where he is and are letting him live. You'd really have to hate the USA to think we would let him get away with what he did. As far as the "documentary"(propaganda fim)you should watch"Fahrenhype 9/11".You can also do a search for 59 deceits in his movie & you will find the evidence about Bin Laden,etc..That is IF you really want the truth...
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
Michael Moore is an idiot. Have you seen Sicko? Someone who takes care (or lack thereof) of himself like Michael Moore does absolutely can not bitch about healthcare in America (Sicko). A documentary is just what it says it is. The reasons we are in Iraq and Afghanistan extend far beyond what you, most likely an average citizen, would understand.
hheat002 3 years ago 2

DRILL NOW!
Tunedup81 3 years ago

Just putting that out there.
laurawinebarger 3 years ago
drilling will commit us to at least 30 years more gas dependence(while there are plenty of other choices), it will create a higher risk for off shore oil leaks, it will drain the american economy (how long to pay those drills off if you expect the oil to be cheaper), oil refineries in places like the gulf o mexico are always subject to the crap weather that shut down the pipes creating the massive sellers market that allowed for those 6.00 price spikes. i pay 2.26 in ga. damn cheap
lobstermitchell 3 years ago
We will need oil for a long time because oil is used for more than fuel.More oil leaks through natural cracks than through drilling.Oil co's pay for drilling not the economy. And it would reduce the transportation costs so.... The whole point of drilling is to stop giving money to people who hate us.Even if it doesn't affect prices at the pump, it would be USA made!
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
1) true, oil is used more than fuel, but nothing oil brings is possible only from oil. (try me)
2) more oil is leaked from drilling plus the natural cracks than just leaving the natural cracks.
3) are oil companies not a part of the economy? if not then every dollar you give them is siphoned out of the american economy. thanks but yes, the transportatin costs for oil drop. but what about alternative energy? the usa would be made (to go thru this again when our oil runs out).
lobstermitchell 3 years ago
1)Ok,how bout this-plastics,rubber,tar(for roads),styrofoam,nail polish,paint remover,inks,dyes,fertilizers,etc...
PAHeitmann 3 years ago
1) plastics and styrofoam (or simalar structured materials) can be made from cellulose. rubber/latex can also be made from plant materiels, though the vulcanization prossess currently utilizes chemicals made widely availible from the companies that own the rubber plants and chemicals already. nail polish; specify what. paint remover works specificly for the pant, change the paint, change the thinner. fertilizer; specify what. inks and dyes have been around forever.
lobstermitchell 3 years ago
2) i used logic (you should try it) to say that adding the risk of offshore drilling to the pre existing risk of natural leaks increases the overall risk of any oil leaks
3) so i pwnded you
4) we already have the technology. why wait? when would it be time to stop, when the last gas is used up?
i need to be persuaded.
lobstermitchell 3 years ago
people like you just do not seem to get it.
USAScommando666 3 years ago

Great video, thanks for posting it.

I have to wonder about the people who say "Even if we drill now we wont see production for 10 years", well maybe if Clinton had set it in motion when he was in office instead of training Monica than we would have it now.
Of course we could look at starting now as having it going for our children.....

It seems that all they can do is call names. People who don't want to drill don't come back with facts or opinions, they call people names like redneck or inbred. Aren't these people supposed to be better than us? I guess all of us who want to drill in the USA are white trash, redneck, inbreds,....

swho23: I agree with you that as Americans, we need to cut waste. Even if you got a million letters to congress to that effect I doubt it would do any good.
vombatidae 3 years ago
Drilling is not the answer. We need to start thinking rationally about how we use petroleum products. I hope the first thing Obama does is ban ALL gasoline powered sports! They are a complete waste of a far too valuable resource that we should not be taking for granted. Wanna see gas prices go down? Then stop the pointless usage of it!
Please think about the true effect of this on our children and how their lives will be if we keep wasting everything.
swho23 3 years ago
corporate greed. we as a species on this planet do not need oil to live or survive, we only believe that because of enculteration, if it would have been a money maker we would have drilled our own oil but instead we did the easy thing and took the middle easts oil, thus again doing the easiest thing. this drill here drill now bs, is this we dont drill here because of the enviromental affects and the fact it wouldnt do us much good, with the amount we use just for cheap plastic crap from wal-mart
