this is from a guy who does't play poker.Poker being more a people, Math, and Psycology game then a pure luck game..but i agree after learning a game the key is Bank roll management ..only use what you can aford to lose and only 5-10% of that so you can keep going
yes you can win at the casino but say you spend 100 dollars and win 1000. yes you won but you go back and spend more trying to win more over. does that make up for all the other times you have lost money? are you ahead now overall? go to your local casino 90% of the people are older people spending ssi checks and thats sad.
Hmm. I go to the casino with 20$, and I must be lucky because I always win. It may not be 200, 000$ but I do come back with and extra 5, 10 or even 50$.
I'm not a big gambler, it's the fancy bright noisy machines I like.
I guess because some people have no self control. Also it can be because there's something missing or a problem in that person's life that gambling can fulfill for a moment.
There is more than just luck in it, have you ever heard of the MIT Blackjack team? They won millions and the casino couldn't win. But then how do the casinos make all this money if with proper strategy they can be beaten? They ban the players who know how to mathematically get the odds in there favor and only allow the dumb players to gamble.
@dangerouslytalented Well, they can legally physically hurt you (in the US that is) but they will get you out of there casino in no time. A casino is privet property so if they want, they can kick you out with out even an explanation. But if you return, then they have the right to make your kneecaps non-functional...
You're amazing. I love all of your points of view. I wish I could have the will power to be a vegetarian and I'm slowly cutting down on meat. You're an inspiration
@Josmolives I'm guessing you have at least some or a lot of Indian descent. To answer your question... Well, that depends... If you're white, yes, it is bad. If you're an Indian, no. Either way, taking money or taking land from people is a bad thing so in this situation we both fail. lol
I totally agree. My parents go once in a while and only take like 30-40 dollars, and once they're out of money, they leave. When I turn 21, I think I'll probably do the same, because gambling is fun in my opinion.
That's why I never want to gamble. You think you'll win, so you spend more and more money. "Maybe next time" is what usually goes through most gamblers mind. I say once you make some decent money don't go again, it's not worth it.
i totally agree with you, gambling is fun but if you go overboard it is really bad. gives good money to bad people (casino owners are, from what i've heard, a bunch of self indulgent, greedy, womanizing men) :-\ and isnt there some sort of truth to the saying that say you're more likely to get hit by lightning than win big at a casino??
I definitely see your point, whenever I gamble I expect to lose that money, that is if I lost it, it wouldn't hurt my feeling in any way and I really don't need it. Me and my friends play friendly gambling games at home but, in the end we all give back the money. The loser has to pay for all the food for the next gambling party thou :P.
I worked in the casino industry for 12 years. I ended up quiting for philosophical reasons that I developed over time. Casinos create nothing useful in society. They donate little bits of money to local communities to make themselves look good, but that's all. I think Onision is a total douche, but he got this one right.
I rarely go to Casino's but when I do I only bring $20 and that's it. If I loose that $20 than oh well I had a good time and if I gained money from that $20 than even better haha..I made a small profit.
It's funny how you pronounce words like COULDN'T, SHOULDN'T< WOULDN"T< etc. Really weird. Check it out in his videos. I don't think Onision gambles at all.
First Onision I love it, did i good job. I mean I don't care if you want to talk about Vegans but I mean a change with hitting other issues would be nice. Thanks keep making more Videos.
I sometimes play poker with my friends and I bet high money (by our standards) from time to time, because I know that I can stop at anytime. So if you know your limits then go to a casino and have fun, bet anything you want.
i stoped gambling yesterday xD this video came in such a wierd time...i was winning the roulette i was good around 250 euros....and i said to my self if i ever get to 500 i stop...or if i ever get to 0 i stop....yesterday i got to 0 :P and i stoped.. and i hope i have the potential to not think about it or ever go in again ... :P
It makes sense to do that but people get the rush out of actually betting more than they can afford. My guess is they do it so they feel like they have more money than they actually have.
People are greedy, but others are desperate. The greedy should change (easier said than done) and the desperate should be helped. Its an addiction. Its not easy, but you need to find a way to make yourself say NO.
Wauw, that was very gentle in comparison to some of your other videos, i like it, thanks for the tip :) If i ever go to a Casino, i will take it to deep consideration ^^
I usually go to a casino and played roulette and slots for fun. I'm not so crazy about gambling but still, I keep an eye on how much money I spented on roulette and slots. The only stradegy is once you win big, stop and cash it out.
I agree. It´s a big risk to gamble. Some guys become pretty rich from like playing poker but some lose a lot of money too, but if they ere experienced and have played a long time they win back more then they lost later.
Maybe, only gamble small wagers instead of the larger ones, and if you seem like you are failing more than winning, maybe it would be a better idea just not to do it. Or, you can do what I do and gamble on sites like Pogo.
90% do only spend $100 - $500 when they go. Sad thing is most of them a old ppl on fixed income or just poor ppl look'n for that big payoff that rarely comes. :(
Gambling, very interesting! I like this video because I have a problem with gambling. I don't go out to gamble (like, I don't have a NEED to find a casino or slot machine or something) but if I am around a gambling environment I CAN go off the rails and lose a lot of money. So I just avoid those places., I don't want to go there, but if I'm in chanes are I'll be there for a while.
and if someone wins a lot, the casino will stop them from playing the game. ive seen a documentary once, and it showed how casinos always kick out those who win, because they hate losing.
yeah, when i go i only take 20-40 bucks. i try not to go though cus it is an addiction. i think a lot of ppl spend more for the treatment. the highrollers stuff. and infact if they do go and spend often they do get stuff comped like hotel rooms and other stuff. If youve got the money i guess do what you wish. Whats sad is when people who dont have the money do it anyway.
My dad gambles very very rarely, but he says that 'gamble and win money, until you start losing. thats the point where most people keep going and lose a lot of their money.' so you have to try to point out when you begin to lose, then quit.
@wowsuperaddicted ofcouse it made people ritch thats why some are pro poker players soo people do get rich but its stupid to gamle more money than you have like onision sad if you play then only use a small amount of money
the most i have ever gambled is a few pounds on 2p slot machines on holiday, its the best feeling ever hearing those coins drop but i couldn't let it go any further than that
Now THIS video, I like. I think this is the first time I agree with you. When I first went to the casino, I won $370 and walked out. I have never been back, and I never want to go back. If you have money to waste, give it to someone who needs it.
Casino's win either way anyway, or any other place that you can place bets. If I bet a small amount, €5 for instance and I win €5, chances are I'll re-bet that total of €10 on two separate bets and lose. I went for about 3-4 months (I'm a poor college student) and realised it was easier to save that gamble; I went on about a 2month winless streak, and I gave up. Losing was probably the best thing that happened; though I never went over my max amount of €5-10 a week
I think the majority of people are able to do just that. Those without a problem with gambling moderate their behavior logically and rationally. Those who have an addiction are suffering from a psychological reward system that is over-reactive and this overrides the area of the brain that moderates behavior. Some things are beyond choice and will power cannot touch them- for example, you cannot choose to stop your heart and if you go long enough without water see what you will do for a drink.
GAMBLING IS THE BIGGEST RACKET THE GOVERNMENT EVER CREATED No matter how many times you "WIN" you are still losing because you have spent a fortune trying to "WIN"
Onision is great at taking complex personal issues like gambling and tobacco addiction and making them seem easy to quit. "Gee guyz, just spend a little bit hyuk hyuk"
So, what's the point of this video? Did you lose a lot of money? I'm pretty sure most people do start out small, but they get overconfident and end up losing a lot of money, so what? Let people make their own mistakes, if they lose money, it's their fault, they knew what would've happened if they lost and if they didn't then that's their fault as well. This video is pointless because maybe only one or two gamblers will really listen.
@deathkiss878 Whats the point of your comment? Seriously dude, he makes video's because he likes to. And if two people learn something from it, thats awesome.
If still, in your point of view, this video is useless. Maybe you need to stop expecting videos to have 'meaning', because Youtube is not the place for you then.
Mindblowing how people can post hate comments about such a video. It's not even about vegetarians, and still you feel the need to post negative comments. (not just you)
@deathkiss878 Yeah your right Deathkiss878 we shouldn't try and inform people about things.. we should actually let people make their own mistakes.. we should stop schools and instutions that guide and help young people, we should never share experience, people should never tell about how it is to be in jail, or what their mistakes were, its better if they all feel it on their own bodies.. Yeah i belive your smart enough to get my sarcasm and point by now..
@deathkiss878 Well, think of it this way: maybe he's trying to give gamblers a reality-check. Gambling can be an addiction. Some people forget that. It can be just as addictive --if not more so-- than drugs, alcohol and other things.
Many people gamble irresponsibly because they don't realize how irrational they're being. They keep thinking, "I'm going to win this time!" and then they fail, but keep trying. Gambling responsibly is easier said than done; I remember the first time I noticed the betting game in The Legend of Zelda; I kept playing it until I was out of diamonds or whatever the currency is in Zelda. Luckily, I was able to go back to the previous save, something that just can't be done in real life.
Luck's for losers. Just saying. It's on my arm.

90% do only spend $100 - $500 when they go. Sad thing is most of them a old ppl on fixed income or just poor ppl look'n for that big payoff that rarely comes. :(

Yeah thats a really smart way to look at it. I'm so good with money that I couldn't ever just blow it like that, the thought makes me tremble.

It's about removing temptation.

and if someone wins a lot, the casino will stop them from playing the game. ive seen a documentary once, and it showed how casinos always kick out those who win, because they hate losing.
silverblaize 1 year ago
yeah, when i go i only take 20-40 bucks. i try not to go though cus it is an addiction. i think a lot of ppl spend more for the treatment. the highrollers stuff. and infact if they do go and spend often they do get stuff comped like hotel rooms and other stuff.

Gambling is a nice pasttime. I'll play poker once in a while with my friends but wont spend more than 2-5 euros and bet like 10 cents each time.
Gambling never made anyone ritch and if it did, it won back all the earnings if not more.
wowsuperaddicted 1 year ago
@wowsuperaddicted ofcouse it made people ritch thats why some are pro poker players soo people do get rich but its stupid to gamle more money than you have like onision sad if you play then only use a small amount of money

Very much agreed. If you want to gamble you should do it sensably. But it really is a waste ogmf money for the most part!

Dimajo 1 year ago
