@1973misha You have obviously no knowledge of offroading. The Range Rover was, is and personally I think will be the pioneer in offroading. The car is a great combination of style and utility and no other can even come close to the Range Rover. It's no marketing, it's the reality.
i did watch it and it means absolutley nothing that lc was messed up way before hammond had it dont get me wrong i like range rover more then lc but you can not deny that over all 99 percent of the time the lc is more reliable
Like most Top Gear shows, many of the events were staged. I know someone who was in the vehicle support team for this episode, the RR broke down a lot, more than the other vehicles, in fact, in the middle of the trip they had to buy another RR just for spare parts and drag it around with a tow truck so that they'd have parts to fix the red one every time it broke down.

I have a range rover classic diesel and so far I can say is that it is a vehicle made with high quality.
It's a 4x4 with 20 years old and, however, is in better condition than many vehicles with 10 years. And do not forget that this 4x4 has more than 300,000 km on road and offroad...
Most of land rover vehicles are for last... With a few exceptions, like early Freelander, I bought this one new, and i still have it.

@1973misha i sold my defender to buy a landcruiser from my local car front after having it for a month i land cruised it right back to the car front i got it from because it was shit. but thank god he still had my defender so i got it back. you talk about over estimating their abilities but i have travelled most off europe in my defender and it has never gone wrong. and i have years of offroad experience

That piece of shit is used in Africa mostly for towing Land Rovers and Range Rovers that broke down when their owner overestimated their abilities!:)
