Well, everyone has Technique issues. Think about it. There are so many things you can do wrong. Bending your wrist. Putting too much thumb over the top of the neck. Angling your hand too far to the left, restricting your pinky access. Using your elbow to pick. Angling the pick too much. Not placing your thumb in the position parallel to the middle finger on the neck. Anchoring your picking hand is just one of many. You should just try to imagine how hard it is for classical guitarists.
I base all my leads off of classical scales and with nylon strings it is such a bitch, if your fingering hand is angled too far to the left the note can come out incorrectly and with possible buzz, and Everyone's hand is different, so an incorrect posture for one person, could be an easier and better-sounding posture or hand position for someone else.

Actually, his technique could use work. He anchors his pinky which causes unnecessary stress. But still, very good.
