  • I went down to sifu demiles p;ace in hawaii when I was stationed there. he had some of Bruces actual machines bruce had made for him. really cool. Sifu Demiles is a great sifu & one of Bruces ORIGINAL students!

  • Bruce lee is no joke

  • I still think Tyson in his prime could have taken Bruce.

  • Very Good and Very True

  • I trained in Demile's Wing Chun Do for nearly 5 years - from 2001 to about the end of 2005. It's the real deal. I trained in Yoshukai Karate before that. It was nothing compared to WCD.

  • @bobbysmith669 he's James Demille a student of Bruce Lee.

  • va fateik trmò

  • bruce lee was a thug

  • who is this doesanybody know

  • This is awesome. You get to hear it from people who actually fought him. I always knew he was really a badass. I heard an interview w/ Chuck Norris where he sorta dissed Bruce, saying he was a "real" fighter and Bruce wasn't. Yeah, he was a "tournament" fighter, Chuck was. Very different. I think Bruce would've destroyed Norris in a real fight. I do have to wonder how Lee would've done against these new grappler guys, though. I think they might've got the best of him. Like the Gracie brothers.

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds I'd bet my life that Bruce (if he were age appropriate) would have picked up BJJ or some Jujutsu/Judo sort of style and would have worked on it obsessively until he mastered it to the best of his ability; he would have spent countless hours watching videos of all the great grapplers around, and combining the grappling abilities with his superhuman arm and leg speed, he would have been nearly untouchable.

  • @Dwslassls

No doubt. I have pictures of Bruce Lee in a judo Gi and wearing a black belt so maybe he was a black belt in judo? Its also a fact that he trained judo and wrestling with Judo Gene Lebel.

Chuck Norris is a black belt in BJJ too so Im 100% sure Bruce would master BJJ as well. Bruce was a VERY smart guy so its most likely he wouldve trained to cope with the best of grapplers. The Gracies wouldve loved to train him too! Bruce wouldve been a HUGE marketing tool for them!

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds He's too fast to be caught xD

  • You Tell em James.. whew!

  • defensive for what ? no sign of intelligence necessary. where'd his nuts go, back up

  • Either way, you stilll need to defend your self amongst anyone if it comes to it hahahah.

  • I love this video.

  • @vaggoner You are a moron.

  • Bruce Lee was great but could still have been beaten.

  • @rmw020 Anyone can be beaten! It's not about that. I have laid many men down that probably could have badly wupped me! I didnt give them the chance. Bruce knew this. He knew that you need to be smooth and barbaric! He knew that the Firstest with the mostest was the bestest! LOL

  • This was very insightfull this guy's a straight shooter .

  • "My ring's outside."

  • woooww, amazing story. To all disbelievers, proof that Bruce was a fighter and not just a movie star. We'll still have shit talkers though.

  • woooww, amazing story. To all disbelievers, proof that Bruce was a fighter and not just a movie star. We'll still have shit talkers though.

  • "He (Bruce) was the first man to ever kick me in the head, and I didn't know where the foot came from. He did it that fast." - George Dillman

  • ima huge bruce fan but in a ring with rules fedor would be my pick for the win AS hard as it is to go against bruce. In a street fight to the death fedor could be killed in under a minute though =o

  • Lees students would beat yipmans students. And jim kelly just said no one could beat LEE in his era.

  • This is possibly the most retarded thing i've heard how come all these "street fighters" are out of shape couch potatoes. Bruce lee was way ahead of his time but you take in modern arts and he'd get mopped up plain and simple, how much did bruce weigh 155? If so bruce would fight the best 155er in the world which is bj penn who would send him to the hospital.

  • a street fight is very different from an mma fight of today. chops to the throat, kicks to the nuts. bruce made his tactics around these weaknesses of the human body. ad on top of that the super human feats he has done that no one has duplicated. if you ask me. in a street fight. he would kill anyone today

  • @mmsal Its easy to say something like that rather than it actually have to be proved these guys prove their ability to fight, watch bas ruttens street fighting techniques and bas is a bruce lee fan, and he even admitted bruce would get hammered in a fight, chops to the throat are pretty useless when you're unconcious, also bas would tear apart this clown from he video.

  • im a huge bas rutten fan aswell. bas said bruce would lose in an mma fight with no training. i agree with bas on that. but in a street fight. im sure bruce would win. as for james demille being a clown haaah, he is super strong and super fast for being an old dude. sure bas would woop him but thats bas fucking rutten another one of the most insane street fighters to ever live along side with bruce lee.

  • chops to the throat, when done like bruce lee would do them, are devistating to any man. in the ufc they ban shots to the throat because they know 1 shot from a fighter to the throat and your DEAD no matter your size strength or mentality your dead. imagine bruce lee, chopping you in the throat with his speed and power... and bruce made his personal style to attack these weak parts in the body. to name a few weak points, the throat, ephilum, knees, ankles, back of the head. i can go on.

  • @mmsal Where was this style in ufc when everything was legal and jiu jitus ran through the other arts, in japan catch wrestling dominated the other arts.

  • @daz45 nah bas is loser and you is loser.

  • bruce was ahead of his time but the fighters of today all train in the same manner as he did, bruce had the skill advantage at the time because he was the only one doing things the way he did but today everyone in mma trains the way he did by using everything that works for them. im sure bruce would still be a force but today he wouldnt be able to do the same things the same way he did before againsed much larger fighters because at the elite level size does matter in a cage or streetfight.

  • Bruce would win in a real fight. Bruce never proved himself? There are reasons why many MANY masters still say Bruce lee is the best fighter to ever lived. Bruce lee is one of those people that is far beyond human level. Bruce fought over 500+ fights and is undefeated. Many masters saw how Bruce fights and also admits they are no chance. Bruce was like a superhuman. God-like speed, Cat-like reflexes, and God-like strength. In his 500+fights, NOBODY has ever touched him becuz of his speed.

  • @iAnglesClan LOL do you believe that?

  • @EndDepravity Yes, I do believe that. Bruce is the first human to make a human FLY over 10 meters+ from a side step kick. There's a movie about Bruce Lee where he does a side step kick to a 150 lbs asian guy. That asian guy is holding some sort of a punching bag also. Bruce Lee does a side step kick and he flies away 10 meters+. There was NO wires, NO special effects, NO stunt doubles. That was a real kick. NOBODY has that kind of power except bruce. Check his SPEED out also.

  • @daz45 Bruce was probally 135-140 lbs.

  • @youtubkicksass ah right thanks so he is kid yamamoto, jose aldo, faber, torres section then.

  • @cryjesuscry

I agree with you about Boxing and Fighting, but you did a huge mistake:

Joe LEWIS -> Karate/Kickboxing Legend, nickname "All American Boy", with guy with blonde hair.

Joe LOUIS -> Boxing Legend, nickname "The Brown Bomber", black guy.

The Bomber (Louis) was never a student of Lee, just the American Boy (Lewis).

  • Bruce would kill anybody. Thanks 5IVE OUT OF 5IVE.

  • You diss tournament and cage fights, why dont you or one of your best students get in there and show what you can do sparring? No rules, biting, pulling hair groin and eye shots are things anyone can do and are taught in 'womans'self defense classes! Ed hart a real houseold name in boxing! lol.... You have always been fat and out of shape. You just pump up bruce lee so you can make a living selling his so called secrets!

  • - his students already won several gold, sliver and bronze medals at Jiu Jitsu Tournaments

    - he never said "Ed Hart is a HOUSEHOLD name in Boxing"

    - He was an undefeated Heavyweight Boxer at the US Air Force (128-0-0 record); during his lifetime he was in the law enforcement business (policeman, sheriff), he knows what fighting really means

    - he don t "diss" full contact cage fighters, just tournament players from the 60 s.

It s damn cheap to challenge a 72 year old guy to a fight.

  • Did you knew DeMile was a step away from shoting Lee with a gun?

It happens the last time they met...

  • bruce was a streetfighter, it bothers me that this man, who put martial arts in the map. still gets disrespected. chuck norris was a great tornament fighter, but in his books he said he never had a real street fight. I believe bruce lee would have beat anyone.

  • bruce lee haterz are really rare. i tried it out 4 sometime and the response was always bad when i said shit things about bruce. the people love him.

the people forget how great he was with the time or they simply wanna hype their own image with lies.. linda lee could say some clear things but she dont want to

  • if you think bruce lee haters are rare you dont come around youtube comments too much

no shortage here of idiotic redneck retards who think watching ufc on their dish network affords them expertise in anything other than being ignorant opinionated fatbodies

  • Bob Bremner said bruce lee would beat anyone to this day.

  • i'm so glad i saw this. i get so sick of ppl talkin bad about Bruce. it aggravates me. he's my fav martial artist of all time.

  • im not trying to change the minds of the bruce lee haters here, but what i would like them to do, is just take the time to do some homework on bruce before they criticize him. i think he deserves that respect at least, try reading jesse glover`s book "bruce lee between wing chun and jeet kune do" it might make you think differently. you can download it as a pdf file from piratebay i think.

  • than the rest of us (forgot to add that part! DOH!)

  • man, where and when did he say that?

I got Joe on video saying he rates Bruce as in the top 5 of all time. Either he's a liar or you are. You can see it on "Death by misadventure"

  • "I consider him by far as the greatest. And people who don t consider him the greatest, at least, he s the leading candidate for being actually the greatest." ~ Joe Lewis in "Death by Misadventure"

But he said also in a 2001 interview from "Temple of the Unknown":

"Bruce is the leading candidate for being the greatest martial artist of all time, but this doesn t make you a fighter."

You can find the interview on the Temple of the Unknown site.

  • what came first the chicken or the egg?

Well, when it comes to fighting we know rule fights came first and then weight classes followed as a result.

But little guys have been beating big guys for centuries and centuries. If rule fights didnt exist, neither would weight classes.

Bruce would beat fedor in a real fight.

  • Joe Lewis has a track record of talking bullshit and switching his stories. Listen to those that knew him better. Regardless, Bruce was a fighter, whether you choose to ignore it or not. Let it go.

  • true dat! and also.. While Bruce was alive guys like Chuck would praise the hell out of them. I mean, god damn between Chuck, Joe, and Bob Wall they had won a tons of titles, yet they still went to learn UNDER a guy like Bruce.

  • Wrong. He was a street fighter and martial artist before he was an actor, and he only adapted "acting" because of his father. Regardless, the man's dead and hasn't done anything of the sort since '73. However, Fedor still throws too wide and wild and isn't the best striker even in MMA. You lose.

  • rowanaktin i thought you wanted us to think you was a fan of bruce, but now you just sound really, really angry. Even though i cant see your face i can tell by your writing you really hate bruce and i can see your face is bright red with anger it seems.

But i agree with you when you said bruce would beat fedor. But for some reason you are saying fedor would beat bruce now, and you sound angry at the same time. You are strange one.

  • 2 rowans. Chris Angel > Bruce > Fedor

  • Fedor throws too wild and wide. Bruce would intercept and give it back to him 10 times. He was too fast and far too skilled for Fedor. However, Fedor's still a great fighter.

  • Bruce lee would beat fedor.

  • @rowanatkin You're retarded. I have nothing else to say. Seriously you need mental help.

  • Yes bruce was the best real fighter ever. I have people talking about fedor as being one of the best rule fighters of all time. One of best heavyweights fighters at least.

He may on paper have one of, the best resumes. But still dont know if fedor would beat Sakuraba, or Royce Gracie

  • Norris never said bruce wasnt a fighter. Norris said he couldnt beat bruce in the ring or the street.

Only Joe said it after Bruce died, and not when Lee was alive. Hmmm. I wonder why.?

  • And 1 final thing:

You always argue about the VALUE of Lewis and Norris:

Do you know Victor Moore? He was the only Karate fighter who was able to beat Norris and Lewis during his career, also he beat Bill Wallace once.

In Longbeach 1967, Bruce threw 8 punches to Moore, more was able to block 0 of them.

A guy who beats Norris and Lewis is unable to block 1 of 8 punches of a 135 lb . actor who cant fight...Hmmm.....

  • Why the hell you always talk about Chuck and Joe, and ignore any other guy who knew Lee?

I give you some quotes by other guys:

Louis Delgado: "Bruce was the thoughest fighter i ve ever stand in front of."

Bob Wall: "Bruce was a real fighter."

Who says BL was not a figther: Lewis and Norris.

Who says BL was a fighter: All other guys who trained with him and knew him, including Delgado, Wall, and many others.

BTW: Liddell and Rickson don t believe Fedor is the best MMA fighter

  • C and that s the point. How can you call someone "the god of FIGHTING"? It s bolt and fanboy stuff, nothing more.

Fedor is the god of the combat sport MMA, Bruce is the god of Martial Arts, Ali is the god of HW boxing (SRR p4p), Lenny McLean the god of street fighting, but NO ONE is the god of fighting.

And if you don t get it, listen to Bas Rutten "street fighting is totally different to any other fighting" = Even MMA is not like street fighting.

  • Not fanboy stuff. I'm a fanboy of Bruce more than i am of Fedor by far, but credit where is due.

Fedor is the God of MMA, which is by far the most complete, demanding, and the highest level of fighting competition in history.

Do you honestly think a guy who fights in the street againts other street fighters would beat Fedor, GSP, Anderson Silva, Shogun, Machida, etc?

No, these guys are living weapons.

Who do you think Bruce fought on the streets? world class strikers? world class grapplers?

  • IF you mean a "usual" street figther i say no, not in MMA and not in a street fight.

But people like Lenny McLean (called "the hardest man of great britain"), Tommy Carruthers (maybe today s best JKD practioneer), or Itay Gil (Krav Maga expert) would have a chance to beat any MMA fighter in a no rule fight, but never on MMA rules.

Anyone can lose a street fight because anything is allowed (headbutting, eye gouching and stuff like that).

  • And when Bas said street fighitng is different he was referring to using weapons, fighting multiple opponents, etc. You could see on his video tutorial he teaches to defend knife attacks. I'm not talking about that kind of stuff. I'm talking about one on one, no guns, no pals, nothing, just mano a mano.

Anyway, Fedor is also trained in military comando sambo, and learned dirty techniques as well as disarming techniques. He had also to defend himself from beatings from multiple opponents.

  • Remember the first encounter between Lesnar and Mir.

If this would have been a street fight, Lesnar would have kill Mir. Just the MMA rules (no punching to the back of the head) saved MIr, allowed him to come back and win the fight via submission.

Just 1 prove MMA isn t 1to1 like no rule fighting.

Anything goes in street fights (also one vs. one and unarmed).

Just image what happens if Hong-man Choi would use headbutts, his head is 3 times bigger as a usual person.

  • Another thing:

Why do you think headbutts, eye gouches or kicks to the kniecap, attacks against the back of the head and stuff like that is forbidden in any sport fighting (including MMA)?

Right, because it s too dangerous and injurys would be to fatal.

You can be as strong as you want, don t matter if your name is Fedor, Bruce, McLean, Machida, Shogun, Tyson, or Fu Man Chu, you are simply finished.

  • that's why bruce lee was a street fighter,,

and thats why he never went to tournments cuz he was a full on fighter, not a boxer, not a kickboxer, not a sports person, but a true street fighter, and he didn't have to prove him self in tournments and all that crap, but he proved himself in the streets, and thats why his a true legend, cuz he didnt care how good u are or how many trophies u won, he would just fight u man 2 man and beat ur ass as quickly as possible!!

  • Chuck: "Fedor is the best fighter of all times and nations.", i know he said it.

But here is the point you should think about:

Even a great MMA Legend like Bas Rutten knows the difference between sport fighting and street fighting. Here you can hear it:

    /watch?v=WtV_6llTaPE

"Street fighting is totally different to any other fighting".

He knows the difference, and i guess Chuck knows it as well. So it s more like he means "Fedor is the GOAT in MMA", not in street fighting.

  • Bruce would beat fedor. Does anyone seriously think fedor would beat bruce? How slow and ponderous he is. Bruce would dismantle him with his first attack.

  • Sorry i mean

    "Fight History of Bruce Lee"

    Go for it on Wikipedia

  • You can compare it to Arnold Schwarzenegger (the 3 basic periods)

    1) The Bodybuilder

    2) The Actor

    3) The Politicain

Bruce died at the age of 32 and many people don t understand he was much more as an actor (mainly because of the media).

To claim he was just an actor and not a street fighter, is the same as you would say Arnie was not a bodybuilder, just an actor.

It s simply wrong and just claim by people which didn t do any research.

Go to Wikipedia: Fight Record of Bruce Lee

  • And you have to remember Joe Lewis never saw Lee actually fight.

When he and Chuck Norris talks about Lees fighting abilitys, it has the same value as a blind man talks about colours.

Lee passed 3 basic periods during his lifetime:

    1) The martial artist and street fighter (1955 - 1965)

    2) The martial arts teacher (1966 - 1970)

    3) The martial arts actor (1971 .- 1973)

Chuck and Joe met him in 1967, NOT in his "fighting period". So they can t judge his fighting skills at all. ;-)

  • ...in his entire life, it's important to question and ultimately decide the criteria for proving oneself as a fighter. Maybe it comes down to a matter of taste. If you place stock in REAL LIFE combat, Bruce Lee was a more proven fighter than Joe Lewis, but if point fighting/kickboxing is how you define a great fighter, then the Golden Boy is your guy.

  • Everyone is entitled to an opinion regarding the outcome of a mythical street fight between Lee and Fedor. In terms of Bruce Lee's abilities as a street fighter, however, there is no salient debate to be found. As James DeMile points out, Bruce Lee was a street fighter, not a tournament fighter. He was in countless street fights as a teenager in Hong Kong and from 1959-1973, he engaged in 13 separate street fights. Considering that Joe Lewis was in a grand total of ONE street fight...

  • I wouldnt listen to the negative stuff Lewis says about bruce as well. It was all said after Bruces death, so suggests to me it is a posthumous cheapshot.

Why talk rubbish when Lee is dead and not alive?

  • The reason that I referenced Joe Lewis was due to Rowan's claim that Lewis' opinion on Bruce Lee's fighting abilities was the final word. My posts clearly demonstrate that I don't agree with many of Lewis' opinions on Lee's fighting ability, but even Lewis pointed out that Bruce Lee's speed was legendary. Bruce Lee had more street fighting skins on the wall than all of the point fighters of the 1960's combined.

  • I heard Bruce beat Bob Wall, and of course he beat Norris.

Rule fights came first, and then weight classes followed. But in history little guys beating the big guys was the norm rather than the exception to the rules.Heard of david and goliath.?

  • And an other fact:

If Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis talks about Bruce Lee s fighting ability, it s the same as a blind guy speaks about colour.

In contrary to Bob Wall, Norris and Lewis never saw Lee fighting once, they just see him teaching people, not fighting.

They can judge BL the teacher, not BL the fighter.

People which were in contact with Lee between 1955 and 1965 saw him fight and all say the same, he was a great fighter.

  • Rowan: Since Bruce Lee is no longer with us, any debate about a match-up between Lee and Fedor is meaningless. You're certainly entitled to your opinion regarding the outcome of this mythical fight, but stating that Bruce Lee wasn't a great martial artist is downright goofy. Joe Lewis is probably the most critical of Lee's fighting abilities, yet even he stated in an interview that Bruce Lee was the "fastest man who ever stood in front of me." There is a reason why Bruce Lee is an icon.

  • Pjtheory was Joe Lewis critical of bruces fighting ability when Bruce was alive though is the important question?

    I dont think so!

  • Hey dude, as Lewis was asked once about who he think is the greatest fighter ever, his answer was "Sugar Ray Robinson".

What s tell us this? Joe was so succesfull in combat sport (voted as the greatest sport Karate fighter in history), he like to impresse poeple with sport fighters and refers anything to sport fighting.

It looks like he forgot the difference between sport and reality. SRR was the greatest fighter in boxing, not more and not less!

  • Comment removed

  • Bruce would have 0% chance to survive in a street fight with Fedor, as Fedor is trained in military comando sambo as well.

In MMA, the ref would stop the fight before a major tragedy happened.

  • Oh no aktin has followed me here now. I might have to go to fedor sites again.

Fedor would lose to Bruce in a streetfight. Fedor has a chance in competion.

  • Pjtheory, Al may possibly holding back and not telling all he knows about bruce, because of his own ego. Everyone has them.

Bruce probably handled Al IMO. Not as easy as he did others but handled Al nonetheless.

  • Rowan: Al Novak seems to be the one student who Bruce was not eager to spar with and Novak has been selective with his praise of Lee's fighting abilities. This may be due to Bruce convincing James Lee to take a dim view of "classical" martial arts. In many ways, Novak was a martial arts traditionalist.

  • Sincere: At his peak, Bruce Lee weighed 150 pounds and many of his students were huge men. They included Al Novak 275 pounds, Ed Hart 240 pounds, Larry Hartsell 235 pounds, James DeMile 225 pounds, and Leroy Garcia 210 pounds. With the exception of Novak, Bruce handled all of them with ease. The late Ed Parker stated that as an athlete, Bruce Lee was "one in two billion."

  • pjtheory, i would like to know what happened in sparring sessions with Novak.

Maybe Novak will tell a bit more in future.

  • very interesting

  • honestly,

    im skeptical

unless he was a come once in century genius

that at 135 could destroy people over 100 pounds heavier then him

    i highly doubt it all

i would love to see him step into a octagon

    and fight bj penn

  • JB: What is your point exactly? JKD is geared strictly for the streets, not for point tournaments and unlike most of the point fighters of that era, Bruce Lee proved himself in countless REAL life encounters. Bruce Lee engaged in two dozen or so street fights as a teenager and from 1959-1973, he had at least 12 documented street fights. Your simplistic description of Bruce Lee's fighting "history" doesn't jibe with the experiences of those who sparred with Lee or had to face him in the streets.

  • "He wasn't interested in impressing people..." at 3:12.

Really? All I ever saw him do was going around, doing movies, and demonstrations of 1 inch punches, 1 finger pushups, and really fast punches and kicks. like watch?v=wQZ_K8j7ISA

Honestly, to say Lee wasn't interested in impressing anyone? The only record history will really have of him is trying to impress everyone.

  • Hey dude,

you must remember Mr. DeMile speaks about the time when he was in contact with him, the period between 1959 and 1962.

At that time he wasn t interested in impressing people, just to evolve his own martial arts and fighting style.

The "impressing time" came later, from middle 60´s to his death in 1973. ;-)

  • whoa I thought james didn't like bruce.

  • Shok: Sifu DeMile claims that he and Bruce Lee worked together to create their version(s) of the 1 and 3 inch punch. It's possible that the mechanics of the Wing Chun short range punch and Bruce Lee's short range punch are different. Considering that Bruce Lee taught his Seattle Era students a modified version of Wing Chun, the next logical step would be that he modified the mechanics of the 1 and 3 inch punch.

  • Nice vid, but is it ok to upload here?

I think the rights belongs to World of Martial Arts (WOMA).

  • bruce lee's body fat percantge couldnt be measure by 1% it was supposed to be in acurate his fat was in grams thats what you call a lean person defo the best fighter i ever heard of

  • Sifu DeMile is a complete bad ass. With the exception of Bruce Lee, nobody in the Seattle area wanted to mess with DeMile. Sifu DeMile also helped Bruce Lee to create both the 1 and 3 inch punch.

  • are you sure about that,1 and 3 inch punch is a part of wing chun punchin techniques.they dint create it its already in the system,

  • BRUCE LEE. TOTAL MASTER.

  • Best fighter in history. No not demile. Bruce lee of course. But Demile was good as well.

  • Great vid true words being spoken!

  • Shit hot video uncle dazza nd it anooys me how peps talk a load of shit wen it cums 2 da ledgend tht is bruce lee nd he would whip every 1s ass in da ufc etc .... so fuck off talkin a load of shit about him u button bashing pricks !!!!!

  • wisdom spoken

  • You dont get trophies from the street...its either your a fighter, or your not,..and thats it!!!...Bruce was a fighter period!

  • Good Theory Delta. When you're a street fighter you win your life to live another day, which is much more valuable then a trophy. You also learn a sense of self assurance and self confidence, what trophy is better than that?

  • Tournament Fighters PRETEND to be Fighters.

    Street Fighters ARE Real Fighters!

This is the point he is making...
