There isn't any problems in her giants... Yes, she piked that but it's just her way of doing that. If look at Nastia, you'll see that she opens her legs but she bends her knees, so Nastia's wrong, Bridget isn't

Wouldn't it make more sense for her to go from her Maloney to her over-shoot half to her stalder shoot to the high bar to get more connection bonus? She seems to get enough swing out of her Maloney for it. But maybe that's just me.

She gets the same CV either way - its .1 the way it is now. She would not get CV from the Maloney to the Bail because of the intermediate swing. The only CV awarded from Shaposh type elements are uprise/stalder ups

Wait, how did Bridget get the same score as Jordyn on bars? Bridget's lines are amazing, the only huge errors are flexed feet on her tkatchev and Ray. Jordyn had bad form on bars, but Bridget's is fantastic. Wtf to the judges.

@snazziest212 I get the impression, after watching a bunch of American Cups, that the scores are a bit inflated for the gymnast coming in as the favorite, just to ensure that they win. When Carly Patterson got above a 9.8 on beam and floor in 2004, that's when I began to wonder....

the only diff between the new system and the system from last yr is that athletes only get credit for 8 elements in a routine not 10.

Yes. Difficulty scores (except on vault, where the scores will stay the same for most vaults) will be lower this quad. With that and the 1 point deduction for falls, no gymnast will be able to get close to the medals if they fall.

Yes, they were, but thats because of the new scoring system..!

The scores were lower on the women's side also because they are only counting the top 8 skills instead of the top 10 skills toward the A score.

I think it is better because routines seemed to be endless. Doing eight elements means the gymnast has to upgrade the difficulty which is risky too.
