How ya doin'? I'm just on my way out the door to go see Duffy Bishop. They're playing in Ballard tonight. I'll give you a phone call later tonight. BTW, I posted this video two years ago, but I videotaped the concert on August 13, 1994.
@garyproducer hi gary, how was duffy? i heard she had a great weekend, got back together with some musicians she used to play with, di dyou record duffy bishop last weekend? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I wold love to have a copy of buddy miles, I have one of him with riki hendrix, too
Buddy was a real gent. While jammin with Jimi in the "Band Of Gypsys" sets. Jimi got stoned and cussed a woman out during a live session. Buddy helped diffuse the situation and never said anything bad about Jimi even tho the promoter didn't like Buddy and got him fired.
I met buddy on a flight a few years ago, he was in a wheel chair and I had no idea who he was; but he started talking to me in the airport terminal beause I had my guitar. Even when he introduced himself, I did not know who he was, but he was a kool guy. But I thought he said he played the drums, lol
wow icredible to meet such an amazing all around historic musician, and you not even know who he is!! haha man, you couldnt track him back from his work with hendrix? every guitarst knowns hendrix work even if it isnt your cup of tea.. oh well good memory for you
Buddy seems like a guy who would be really easy to talk to. Have you ever seen any interviews with him? He's in a few Hendrix documentaries and other '60s commentary videos.
I bet he was hurt . Like so many of the pioneers. We never look back and see if, this sound was duplicated . In order to play with Jimi Hendrix you had to have something to bring to the table.
OMG ! this one gave me chills it was so funky. that Bass, the guitar, and Buddy's vocals. I can't believe the there weren't more people than that there.
The reason there weren't many people there is because it was a private party. Only a certain amount of people were invited. I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to have been able to be there and videotape it. It's a day I'll never forget. Take care and thanks for your comment.
I saw Randy Hansen at a Hendrix tribute gig at BB kings blues club at universal city, LA. There were a guitarist there who played left handed and had his daughter on drums.
It was the most impressive Hendrix impersonator I ve ever seen, anyone know his name? This was around 2005.
So cool! :D Thank you for posting this :D
