  • Buddy was a real gent. While jammin with Jimi in the "Band Of Gypsys" sets. Jimi got stoned and cussed a woman out during a live session. Buddy helped diffuse the situation and never said anything bad about Jimi even tho the promoter didn't like Buddy and got him fired.

  • @ugotstobkidn well jimi was a real nice guy, too. what did the chick do to get cursed out?

  • I saw Randy Hansen live at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby (Philly), PA in 1981. He was awesome, he did the whole Hendrix tribute.

  • I met buddy on a flight a few years ago, he was in a wheel chair and I had no idea who he was; but he started talking to me in the airport terminal beause I had my guitar. Even when he introduced himself, I did not know who he was, but he was a kool guy. But I thought he said he played the drums, lol

  • wow icredible to meet such an amazing all around historic musician, and you not even know who he is!! haha man, you couldnt track him back from his work with hendrix? every guitarst knowns hendrix work even if it isnt your cup of tea.. oh well good memory for you

  • Buddy seems like a guy who would be really easy to talk to. Have you ever seen any interviews with him? He's in a few Hendrix documentaries and other '60s commentary videos.

  • I bet he was hurt . Like so many of the pioneers. We never look back and see if, this sound was duplicated . In order to play with Jimi Hendrix you had to have something to bring to the table.

  • Damn!! Buddy's Voice and Randy Hansen laying down the licks... nothing less than amazing!!

  • Buddy sounds so damn good. Thanks for post garyproducer

  • Totally my pleasure. Thanks for your comment.

    -Gary

  • OMG ! this one gave me chills it was so funky. that Bass, the guitar, and Buddy's vocals. I can't believe the there weren't more people than that there.

  • The reason there weren't many people there is because it was a private party. Only a certain amount of people were invited. I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to have been able to be there and videotape it. It's a day I'll never forget. Take care and thanks for your comment.

    -Gary

  • Buddy didnt look too good of shape there but his voice could still tickle the hair follicles in my inner ears. :D
