Dave, from my research -- sundown in Jerusalem is at 5:17 pm (17:17 on 24 hour clock). I've read in 2 places that Yom Kippur is a little longer than 24 hours -- I got one saying 25 hours, another saying "almost 26 hours." Going by the 26 hours, that means Yom Kippur ends 7:17pm on Saturday October 8th (or 19:17). Now, since Rosh Hashanah, Israel ended daylight savings time but the US hasn't. California is 9 hours before Jerusalem, so for me 7:17 pm in Jerusalem = 10:17 am that day in Calif.
