is there any way of playing burned ps2 games WITHOUT buying something like ActionReplay or Swap Magic etc? I tried swapping ps2 games in the tray for the burned dvds using a swap key i made but it doesn't seem to work for ps2 games (the screen just stays black).

Honestly I'd rather just go and buy the actual game since it's a lot easier and costs about the same as the hacking software, but they don't sell them in most electronic stores anymore so it looks like i'm never going to play it :\

It would have been nice if you told the audience when you exactly stopped the PS2 game and did the swap with the backed up game. Over time, you will screw up the PS2 motor.

this ONLY WORKS with PS1 games. you cannot use the swap method for ps2 games. If you want ps2 game backups, you can get a mod-chip, a swap magic disk, or buy a pre-made "magic memory card" that has an exploit on it and swap magic installed to the memory card. data will show as corrupted on the magic memory card if you open it in the ps2 browser. its supposed to.

you dont block the sensor that tells the system the disc drive is closed until you are on the browser and wait for it to read the psx disc then you switch and choose the psx icon, loads easier

You damage the motor when you stop it in mid spin. The swap magic discs and flip top were made for this reason.

My Ps2 doesn't play any PS1 games. Not even the original PS1 discs and also backup games. But, my Ps2 plays all PS2 discs including ripped and backups.

Eventhogh I press the reset button twice with a good timing. It asks me to insert a playstaion or a playstation 2 format disc.
