It has contributed to the attitude of authoritarianism that cops have now; they think that they serve the state and not the people. They treat all of us like criminals and potential terrorists. And now their training teaches them that even our liberty movements and peaceful assemblies are bad.

Throughout the 20th century, the Supreme Court has been very active in striking down laws that violate the equal protection and due process clauses of the 14th amendment. I would be willing to be that soon enough, the right for gay people to get married will be protected as well.

And as I said before, having a few government abuses does not mean we have a tyrannical system. @athabascka: If straight couples can get married and get tax breaks and "welfare", according to the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment to the Us Constitution, so should gay couples. There isn't any part of the Constitution that is "more important" than another. All we can do is advocate that the rights protected in the Constitution actually be protected. If they are abused, we have a right to advocate against their abuse. But appealing to extremism and fear is not the way.

Correction - FSB was never caught BLOWING any of the Russian residential buildings. @athabascka: If straight couples can get married and get tax breaks and "welfare", according to the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment to the Us Constitution, so should gay couples. There isn't any part of the Constitution that is "more important" than another. All we can do is advocate that the rights protected in the Constitution actually be protected. If they are abused, we have a right to advocate against their abuse. But appealing to extremism and fear is not the way.

I also say that welfare is dehumanizing and dangerous to the community and the family. By it's very nature it conditions the public to have no sense of harmony in society, and to have no sense of civil duty to their neighbors and fellows. I think that marriage can only be a personal commitment and should have no vulnerability to the government.

I'm sure there are negative effects regarding welfare for the poor, but poor people need to feed their families and they need a way out of poverty. Correction - FSB was never caught BLOWING any of the Russian residential buildings. FSB members were allegedly apprehended in A PLOT TO BLOW ONE of the buildings by the local police, later to be released under the official explanation that the alleged attempted bombing was really a part of training and that the bags contained sugar and not the real explosives. The building in question was never blown up. This is the problem with youtube - very few are diligent enough to check their facts

Any real news, in a mainstream newspaper, seems relegated to short, one or two paragraph articles in the middle pages, surrounded by the usual fluff. The mainstream newscasts have a similar format. I'm not sure Alex Jones is the answer to these omissions, but he's certainly an alternative, and if he's nuts, well, I'd be nuts too, if I had to deal with the volume of information he does.

I do know that there are cocaine rackets using Fortune 500 fronts operating openly and with impunity, in one case next to a DOJ building, and that these operations match the claims of former FBI/CIA agents that claim these agencies are responsible. That's just the tip of the iceberg.
