when a bullet hits flesh it does not explode it can even go through a little deformed but the exit wound is way bigger then the entry wound because of the shockwave the bullet creates because it flys supersonic speed
@Lorbertful actually, the .223 is one of the only rounds that actually tumbles as it impacts the body. the reason is explained in the video. it has been proven time and time again that it does in fact tumble. typical bullets do not. hollow points create similiar exit wounds because they expand and double or triple their surface area. please educate yourself before acting like you know everything.
the animation was meant to show how an assault rifle in general works. this is not specifically an M16. This video was meant to explain basic ballistics mechanics and then go further into the .223 ballistic mechanics specifically. CHILL.
Good cutaway graphic, but it does depict a semi-auto AR, not an M-16 as the video title might suggest. Look at the hammer (no catch on the back of it), disconnector, selector and the lack of an auto-sear catching then releasing the hammer.
Look how close those internal parts are sqeeuzed together, thats why it is unrelaible. If there is more space between the internal parts then it will become reliable
good video, i want to know how is the name of the program with u do this video... i want to know the name of this with u make all the animation, thanks for ur video.... hope ur response, greeting from Venezuela.
@Ann2808fl ok i took the animation from another video in the description it says that this is multiple other videos put together. i used windows movie maker, it comes default with most windows os, or you can download it for free online. i think its called microsoft live essentials or something like that. just google it. thanks for the comment :)
this is actually not even close to the mechanism, the trigger directly pushes the firing pin then the gas goes through a tube and fires the bullet when the trigger is realeased it locks the gas tube
@321boileranimal like i say in the description.... i took different videos and put them together. no they are not the same thing, yes you are correct. i knew that when i made the video. however, the number of videos online which say certain things are limited and you work with what you have. thats what i did.
@glitchunter313 Ya? I just put that down there to make a nerd technicality. Not that I really care. Though you weren't the one in the video making the error, haha Hey thanks for posting it.
I'll one up this gun nerd. That is NOT an m4a1. The m4a1 has its rear sight permanently attached to the upper. You can clearly see that the rear sight has the mounting screws which attach it to a rail used for mounting optics. Only m4a3s and m4a4 have a removable rear sight, a3 being fully auto and the a4 being 3 round burst.
@packinwood2009 it looks like someone doesn't know what they are talking about. i use these rifles everyday. my service rifle is an M4A3 and it has a select fire switch, just like all of the models, the M4A4 is the only one to have a 3 round burst capability. and, they all have picatinny rails and come with detachable handles, so yes they can remove the rear sight and replace it with a rail sight.
the propellent does not explode, it burns, and as a reaction to the burning, gases are realeased, creating pressure, and the gas looks for the easiest way out and pushes the bullet out of the way so it can excape. if it exploded, it would just be a pipe bomb. also, fun fact this rifle being used in the second part is the austrian kar98k and before i get stupid comments, as we all know hitler is austrian. he brought his rifle to germany and they adopted it as the new service rifle
@mexicanmadmonkey thanks for the comment, yes this is true, but not according to public knowledge which is what i had to go with, and thanks for the info on the K98k, something few people know.
@mexicanmadmonkey what you have described fit s the definition of an explosion just because it is and an explosion doesnt mean it has to be a large scale one
what you think, you're looking for an answer, and here it is: when the bolt is forced back by the gas, the rear of the bolt pushes the hammer back down to engage the sear. check out bushmaster's website, they have some really good quality animations
and thank you all for this many views :) if you like gameplay videos, i have several of those as well, just check out my channel... sorry about the quality on some of them.
@glitchunter313 to tell you the truth the first screen is the same damn screen that is displayed on bushmaster's website.... and fyi that split diagram is that of an M4A1, not an M16, although they have the same direct impingment operating system, the barrel profile is that of an m4, so is the 16 inch barrel as opposed to the 20 inch barrel on an M16...., but in all fairness the mil spec m4 has a 14.5 inch barrel just some facts for ya
@EPICFAILTODEATH yes several people did, however, it was the only animation i could find, and the mechanics are very similar to the actual m16, so i just went with it. 95% cant tell the difference anyway :P
@Nemecys i have no idea... try google images or just do what i did and record or take screenshots of videos with these cross sections in them. or you can get books, which usually have much more detailed pictures and usually label all the parts.
How the M-16 works and what it can do.. it can jam.. who cares about the accuracy if it jams up. isnt that the way jessica lynch was captured? their guns jamed up from sand storm
look guys m16 is better as a shooting long range mid range weapon it has epicly high accuracy but the ak is better for close sometimes medium range combat , accuracy is low but it has a high rate of fire , both suit diffrent styles of combat , both have there flaws and glorys , there the perfect to fight each other :P
@glitchunter313 :) people jsut think that since the ak has more fire power means it will do more damage but if you cant hit anything whats the point of all that damage people need to learn
@glitchunter313 That is rather rude and ignorant to call someone a terrorist just because they disagree with your video. You must be a moronic prick. Disliked.
@TomoHawKzZ actually the cycling action on the m16 is gas powered. the ak 47 uses a spring mechanism in the barrel to eject and replace the shell when the bullet passes down the barrel. the m16 is gas operated, whereas the ak47 is a combination.
@TomoHawKzZ the gas mechanism is not shown in the animation on my video, however, here is a quote from a website on the m16: "The M16 is a lightweight, 5.56 mm, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed assault rifle, with a rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation. The rifle is made of steel, 7075 aluminum alloy, composite plastics and polymer materials." the ak 47 can be looked up on youtube here: youtube.com/watch?v=lQe864rGLyk
@KomoraSTG the original design was an m16 the m4a1 branched from that it was almost identical to the m16a3 which had the same compact design. the illustration of motion was just to show the basic flow of an automatic weapon rather than the m16 in particular thats why it was before the part about how the bullets work.
that's why i think the m16 is better than the AK--the .223 round doesnt just plow through the target it devastaes internal organs like a shot gun blast. VERY hard to heal a person with that kind of wound.
@devonriley415 the .223 usually punches right through people, the tumbling action doesnt happen soon enough so it just goes right through. general rule of thumb is bigger bullet = more damage so 7.62 will always have more stopping power
watch these AR15 vids /watch?v=nBqjAyhs56M AK47 /watch?v=o-WMeBplZSs&feature=related
@chubbs636 That is due to the shorter barrel ARs in use. A 20" barrel works fine at the ranges it's supposed to.
Your rule of thumb is kind of wrong since the Russians preferred the 5.45x39 over the 7.62x39. In ballistics gel tests it makes wound cavities as big as a 7.62, and while it's slower than a 5.56x45 it is able to tumble at lower velocities so it retains it's wounding capabilities even after losing energy at longer ranges.
@chubbs636 The 5.56 got that myth going because if an armor piercing round, which is heavier with a higher rate of twist, is used against human sized targets without body armor it does tend to punch through. It is not a problem with a standard round or one with a steel tip only. ie M 855 If the proper round is used the .223/5.56 is a VERY effective round. It may be small but the extra velocity more than makes up for it. It breaks apart & dumps its energy in a body better than a 7.62x39.

@mexicanmadmonkey Obviously reading comprehension isn't a prerequisite for using automatic rifles.
1. You simply restated what I said then called me uninformed.
2. The rear sight post is never to be referred to as a handle, nor is it to ever be used as one.
3. Its assumed that people know all the models have a single shot selector switch position.
4. Yes the m4 and m16 A2 is 3 round burst.
5. Being in the military doesn't necessarily mean you know ANYTHING.
6. Learn to read.
